Chapter 184 - A MIRACLE SILVER WOLF
183. Tamia's POV
"Do you really need to know who I am when you don't even know how to break this barrier?" I asked her and she scrutinized me.
"Who are you? I won't ask again," she said, speaking in a haughty manner as if she owned the world.
She looked so much like Amelia that I suspected she was Amelia's daughter and I won't be surprised if she was.
"Haughty now, are we?
I can tell that when you decided to come and try to break the barrier, your elders tried advising you to wait but you refused.
You thought that you got what it takes.
You thought that you are much wiser and stronger than your mother who died trying, isn't it?" I asked her and that seemed to wrap her the wrong way.
She didn't want to admit defeat.
"I will..." She started.
"What? What will you do?
You can't even break a weak barrier and you think you can do anything to me?
Come on!" I asked her and she threw a weak ball of fire at me.
Like I had suspected, she was the kind who made haughty and quick decisions even without thinking.
If she had thought, she might have been able to tell that I was not all talk and no action.
She could have at least asked me how I was so sure I could break that barrier or to even demonstrate.
I looked at her and watched as the ball came to me in slow motion and then I willed it back to her the way it had come.
She was so surprised that she was frozen on the spot and none of the other witches seemed to want to help her.
I then stopped the ball inches before it could hit her face.
"Like I told you, young girl, you are too weak to challenge me.
Know your place," I said and then put off the fire.
She inhaled and exhaled heavily and then held her chest.
"Who are you?" She asked me and I smiled at her.
"I am someone who can do what you have been able to do since you started.
All you know how to do is shout and even your witches don't seem to like you a lot, do they?" I asked her and she turned to look at the others who pretended to be looking at anywhere but her.
"Prove that you can break the barrier," she said as if it was a challenge and I laughed.
"Okay. If it's what you want to see," I said.
"It is," she answered.
I didn't want to use my powers because she would see that mine are bright and not as dark as theirs and so, I walked to the barrier and touched it.
It sizzled and formed a small hole where I held it.
"Wow!" She said as she moved towards me in admiration and let the barrier go as she came closer and the hole closed.
"Wow! That's impressive!
How? How?" She couldn't finish due to excitement.
"Name your price.
I will give you anything you want as long as you can get me into that pack," she said and I looked at her.
"What do you want with the wolves?
Aren't you a witch?" I asked her.
I wanted to know what was so important on the other side that she had to risk it to get there.
"It's none of your business.
Your business is to get me to the other side and then I will pay you," again, she spoke haughtily.
"But you see, I am the one with the powers.
If you don't tell me, I will just go back the way I came.
I am not obligated to help you and neither do I lack money to work for you for money.
So, adios if you won't tell me," I said and turned as if to leave.
"Get her," she said and I turned to see more than ten witches hurling their powers towards me.
The powers looked like strings and I could tell that they wanted to tie me up.
I chuckled and then stretched my hands.
I returned the powers to them, strengthened them with mine and within a second, every witch there except her was tied and on their knees.
"Like I said, you make hasty decisions and it will kill you.
If you want me to help you, you have to tell me what business you have with the pack.
And the next time you try a sneak attack on me, I will kill you," I told her and she was shaken.
She looked at her witches who knelt there helplessly and then at me.
"Forgive me. I was haughty and I am sorry.
There is a wolf in that pack named Tamia and she killed my family and I want to kill her.
She even took all our documents and all our secrets, making us flee.
Many of us have been killed and only us remain.
So, we want to get there and take back what we hid in the basement my mother and aunt made," she said and my mind was stuck at where she wanted to kill me.
"Do you think you can kill her?
Are you strong enough to kill Tamia?" I asked her.
"I don't believe that I can't.
She's just a wolf and wolves are weak when faced with magic.
I don't believe that I can't defeat her," she said all psyched up.
"Have you ever met her?" I asked her and she shook her head.
"No. All I have is this old picture of her.
She doesn't seem to like taking photos so much," the young girl said.
"Well, today is your lucky day because you don't have to look far.
Lady luck has shone her light on you," I told her and she seemed confused.
"What do you mean?" She asked me.
"Oh, sorry. Forgive my manners.
I didn't introduce myself.
My name is Tamia. Tamia Black-James...
In the flesh," I introduced then added.
She stood there looking at me as if I was talking nonsense.
“What? Don’t believe me?” I asked her and she was frozen in place.
She couldn’t believe her eyes and ears.
“What did you say?” She asked.
“What part did you not hear well?“ I asked in return.
“You… you can’t be… it can’t be… how…” she didn’t even seem to know what to say.
“Me? Me what? I can’t be Tamia?
I get that a lot.
And the reason why I don’t take a lot of photos is so as to surprise fools like you.
I put up this barrier, did you think you could bring it down without me knowing?
Come on!
Did you say that I am just a wolf?
You forgot that this wolf is blessed and favored by the Goddess herself.
Defeat me?
Oh baby. You will need years of practice,” I said and looked over at Killian.
I didn’t even know why I had locked him out.
She wasn’t as strong as I thought and the others seemed demotivated.
It was like they were following her because they were supposed to and not because they wanted to.
I brought the barrier down and the soldiers and Killian walked towards me.
“Why did you do that?” Was the first thing he asked me when he came to where I was.
“I thought a magic battle would ensue and I didn’t want to hurt you.
I am sorry,” I said and in that moment of hesitation, the girl had taken a soldier hostage using strings of magic.
The man had been caught off guard I think because like everyone else, they were looking at me.
“Let my people go or I will kill him,” she said and she almost made me laugh.
“You didn’t go to school, did you?
You only have one and I have how many, a hundred?
A hundred and ten?
Come on!
You are as stupid as I thought,” I told her and it was true.
She was the stupidest witch I have ever met.
Before she knew what was happening, she was the one who was kneeling like the others and my warrior was free.
I looked at them and wondered why I had wasted my powers coming here but it was okay.
I stretched my hands towards them and like that, their powers started flowing towards me in strings of different colors.
Some were red, those were for the fire users like her, others blue, for the water users, others brown, for the earth users, others silver, for the metal users and others whitish like mine for the air users.
The girl was as surprised as everyone else for I think they didn’t think I could do that and for the others it was their first time seeing such a feat.
“I didn’t think that they were such weaklings.
You should have stayed hidden,” I told her as I wrapped the big ball swirling with their powers in mine.
I didn’t even know what I was getting so worked up about.
