Chapter 79 Chapter 79: A Chance?
Chapter 79: A Chance?
Vishiea’s POV
Days passed and Darius started to cooperate with me. The doctors were glad that he didn't refuse treatment. Though it's hard on my part because he’s asking for me to stay in his room and take good care of him.
“Lady Anastasia, we don't know how we would be able to thank you for doing this. If it weren't for you the king would still refuse treatment.” Adam thanked me. I just smiled. I am also happy that Darius is getting better.
“The king needs my help. I just did what is right, you don't have to thank me” I told him. I know they are thankful. But that is what I am supposed to do. If I didn't come with them they would still kept on pestering me.
This is the least I could do to help the palace.
I don't want Darius to misinterpret my actions but if that will help him to continue his treatment then I have no other option but to act accordingly.
“Thank you again Lady Anastasia. The council are also extending their gratitude for your kindness “ he added. The council? So they knew that I was helping the king to recover?
“Vishiea? That's you” I checked who's calling me and it was Jaxon. I didn't see him at Cassie's house when I visited there.
“It's Anastasia,” I corrected him. I don't want others to call me the name I’ve been trying to forget. Vishea is my past and I am living in the present now.
“Sorry, I just heard to my cousin Cassie that you’re here. I thought she was just lying bechamel after all what happened you still choose to come back” he uttered. But soon realized what he just said.
“Yes, I am here for an important matter” I told him but he's gaze went to Adam.
“With the King trusted men?” He confusedly asked. I looked at Adam and by just looking at him he already knew what I meant. He left, leaving us with Jaxon.
“I was just asking for directions,” I lied. He nodded but I could see that he's having second thoughts whether to believe in me or not. But I don't care. I don't need to explain myself.
“Alright, I’ll have to go. I still have things to do” he said and smiled before leaving.
I started walking toward the hallway when I bumped into someone. “Vishea, oh, I didn't see you” he helped me stand up. As I bump on the ground.
“Long time no see. I can't believe you're here” It's Christian. Darius Cousin. He look at me confusedly.
“It's Anastasia, it's fine.” I told him while I am fixing myself.
“I’m really sorry. I was looking at…” he didn't continue his words and I followed the direction he's looking at ad he's staring at the gorgeous lady in the fountain. I haven't seen the girl before. He couldn't even continue he's words and he's still busy staring at the girl.
“You know what? Why don't you just approaching her” I told him while ai am cleaning my dress.
He looked at me and shook his head.
“No, I can't. She's… she's too precious to even waste her time,” he mumbled. I chuckle. He look at me.
“Don't tell me you already know she’s you're mate yet your still afraid to talk to her?” I told him. He avoids my gaze and that means I am correct.
“How did you find out about that?” He asked me confused. It's not hard to not know it.
“You know what? You should talk to her as soon as possible or else you’ll regret it” I told him before leaving him on his spot.
I wake through the hallway and stared on the palace. It's just almost four month but palace change. It feels empty and dull.
When I arrive to Darius room he’s already sitting on the chair.
He could walked now but he get tired easily that's why he couldn't still go out of his room. Yet he's now improving little by little.
“Vishiea, where did you go?” He asked me. He's talking to me right now like we're okay like everything’s fine. I just sat on the chair. I noticed he heaven drink the medicine the doctor maid for him that's why I get it and went closer to him.
“Just walking outside to lessen the boredom,” I answered him. This always my daily routine. To always feed him with food and his medicine.
Luckily he’s now getting better. The doctor just visited him in the morning and they told me that he's getting better.
“Thank you for coming here Vishiea,” he uttered. He also finished his medicine that why I iust place it on the table.
“The king needs help and it's unpleasant to reject the favor” I answered him. I don't actually want to go here or even spend a second of my life in this palace but I have no other choice.
“You could have just noy accept this if you don't want to be here” He uttered as if he heard what I just said.
“What do you mean?” I asked him. He let out a deep sigh and stood up.
“I know, you're just forcing yourself to be here. I know you still can't forget what happened before but non if them I want to happen” He uttered. He's referring to the past again.
“Darius, that's not what I am talking right now” I told him but he just looked at me.
“I know you hated to be here Vishiea… But I am happy more than a word overjoyed can explain how you always made my day,” he told me. I let out a deep sigh.
“You should rest now Darius, you're not yet fully recovered. You should avoid moving too much” I told him trying to avoid the conversation but he seemed determine to talk about it.
“Can you give me another chance Vishiea?” He said and walked towards me. I don't know how to react. Why did he suddenly asked aich question like that.
“Darius, that's not the right time to asked that question,“ I told him. He’s forehead knotted while looking at me.
“Then when will be the right time? When Things got worse again? When I could no longer see you?” He asked me. I don't know what to say. But asking me that question is actually something I couldn't answer.
“Darius, you know I can't answer your question that easily.” I told him. I stood up loosing temper again.
“Sorry, I–I was just–” he tried to explain but I cut him off. I can't be mad right now. He's still enduring pain in his body.
“That's anough, just rest okay? I’ll just call the maid to fixed things here” i uttered and started to walk through the door.
I stop and let out a deep sigh.
Darius maybe you're atill expecting that things would go the way you expected it but it won't be that easy.
