Chapter 64 Chapter 64: Soaked in the Rain
Chapter 64: Soaked in the Rain
Vishiea’s POV
There are no days when Darius kept on showing up at my place, holding gifts, flowers, and even letters, waiting outside. He kept on doing that for how many days. Yet, I still don’t have the courage to talk to him. I just watched him in my room while he’s standing outside. It’s cold, and yet he never left.
The guards and even Aunt Kennedy pity him.
Why are you doing this to me, Darius? When I decided to forget everything, you would show up like this. You will beg for me. But I can’t even look you straight in the eyes.
I thought I could start a new life, but here you are causing trouble, making me undecided. I just want to heal and live in peace, but how could I be able to do that if you’re here?
I can’t believe you would dare to stay there at night, showing up even if you’re not allowed to enter inside.
How far can you go, Darius? How far would you do this? But thinking about what you did to me before, it’s nothing compared to what I had experienced. It’s nothing compared to what I felt before.
You’re only wasting your time, Darius. Just leave and never come back. Your position right now won’t change my mind.
“He’s still there,” Dylan walked inside. He stood beside me, looking at Darius. The weather is also changing.
“I think it’s going to rain,” I murmured and looked outside. I let out a deep sigh.
“Are you going to let him in?” he asked me. I didn’t answer him. I just don’t know yet.
Why don’t you just leave, Darius? Why don’t you just leave and live with Rachelle? That’s what you wanted in the first place, right? But why are you here again, begging?
“Don’t you have something to do?” I asked him. He just looked at me. He shook his head.
Dylan has always been here. He kept on visiting me, checking on me. Maybe that’s what Aunt Kennedy asked him to do.
“You don’t have to always come here, Dylan. I am completely fine now. Besides, I know you still have a lot of things to do,” I said. He let out a deep sigh.
I looked outside, and the sky got dark, indicating that it will rain at any moment. My gaze shifted to Darius. He’s still there, standing, hoping that I will order the guards to open the gate for him.
“I came here because I want to check on you. I know you’ve been in tough moments, Anastasia. I just want to accompany you,” he uttered. I faintly smiled.
It’s not his obligation to guard or check on me.
“I’m fine, Dylan. There’s nothing to worry about,” I told him and sat on the chair.
Then it started to rain. I chose not to look outside. I closed my fist. Now he would leave. He should leave because the rain started to pour.
“How about him? He always comes here, standing outside,” he uttered. He walked through the balcony and looked outside.
“He really wouldn’t leave,” he added. He’s still there? But it’s raining badly.
Damn him! What did he think he’s doing? Is he trying to make me feel conscious?
When I witnessed my father’s death, he didn’t even show mercy. He didn’t even stop the king with his plan. He just watched my father’s execution. He didn’t do anything. Staying in that rain wouldn’t kill him. But my dad was already dead, even if he had the chance to survive if only he saved him.
If he only did something that day, maybe my dad would still be alive. We would still be together. But he didn’t do anything. He watched, satisfied to ruin my family, and watched us lose everything.
“You can go, Dylan. I need to rest,” I told him. He nodded his head, but before he closed the door, he said something.
“I won’t say this because I want you to give him a chance. But I am saying this—talk to him, and if you actually want to end everything with him, then do it, Anastasia. If he really loves you, then he would understand everything and accept your decision,” he said before finally closing the door.
I was speechless because of what he said. Before, he didn’t want me to talk to him, but now everything has changed.
I stood up and went to the balcony. He’s still there. Waiting patiently. The flowers and letters in his hands were already wet from the rain.
It’s also getting cold, and he’s already soaked with rain.
I don’t want to do this, but maybe Dylan and Aunt Kennedy were right.
I should talk to him. Give him a chance to speak. But what if he doesn’t want to stop bothering me? Should I still continue?
I went back to my seat, hoping that he would leave at any moment. Then hours passed, and I went to the balcony to see if he had already left, but to my surprise, he’s still outside.
He is not moving, while his men are in despair to approach him. You’re still stubborn, Darius. You would really do anything just to make me agree to talk to you.
Why don’t you just leave? There’s still another woman waiting for you to come back. This place is not yours.
“Lady Anastasia,” a guard came to me. I already know what he’s about to say.
“The king doesn’t want to leave. The rain is pouring badly,” he started. I gritted my teeth. He’s really trying me.
I don’t even know what to do right now.
He really wants to force me to open the gate for him.
“I’m sorry, Lady Anastasia, but he’s been there for how many hours now. The weather isn’t good, and it’s too cold outside,” the guard said, trying to tell me something.
I let out a deep sigh and closed my eyes.
Should I really need to do this?
“Fine, open the gate for him and let him enter. He’s only allowed to stand outside the door,” I told the guard. He immediately bowed his head and went outside to tell the others.
I walked downstairs. I watched him walk towards me.
“Vishiea.”
