Chapter 82: He chose not to let go

“Zena!”

Richard crossed his arm on Zena's shoulder and already Zena's mood was deflected from being startled and she walked her mood into a happy child while she and Richard picked up their arguments from where they stopped.

On top of their voice, they argue and giggle at the same time while they walk in together into a faculty foyer other students took notice of their attitude, and Zena's fair happiness became blurry the moment she saw Maria and Kate staring at her.

Richard also notice her quick snapped-out mood and he hastily demanded,

“What is the matter, Zena?

Why are they gawking at you that way?

Do you know them?”

Zena suddenly went unhappy seeing how happy Maria is without her made her misshape her attitude and she clattery retorted while she actively dashes out from the foyer and into the lecture room.

“They are my old friend but not anymore!”

Richard had words in his belly but finds it difficult to arrange them in such a way that won't upset Zena.

All he could do was watch her as she file herself to her seat and he immediately slid into his seat because the lecturer had entered shortly after them.

Mercy was not wrong as she had noticed the strange person that was staring at her.

Because the moment she left, the strange took a bike and followed her but she was smart enough to change her location as a means of distraction.

Never did she know, she was not smart enough because the strange person has followed her again after she diverted her direction and this time he followed her home.

The lecturer gave a few minutes of her lectures and then, the 30mintues quiz was given.

Zena had finished hers, but her attention could be picked by her attitude as she glares at the door and window like she has been expecting someone.

“Miss Angus, do you want something?” the average slim blonde hair lecturer asked,

Her tinny voice and London accent were distracting that many of the students looked to gain the reason she called out for Zena.

Zena began to waffle as she could not certain the reason she is restless and the lecturer said again,

“I presume you are through with your work and can you kindly bring it over here?”

Zena stood up unboldly having her paper and the other students started chuckling which made her shyer,

Richard stares at her and watches her pass her paper and leave the class,

Zena POV

I'm not sure of what I wrote because the thought of seeing Marcus rang in my mind,

I left his place yesterday, for hours I was expecting to see him today waiting for me at the usual spot but he is nowhere to be found.

Yesterday was the first we were that close, I want him more than ever but he chose to hang me on without saying any cogent reason for his attitude.

I needed to set things straight with him, to be sure that this emotion, this feeling I feel for him is not one-sided.

I wanted to tell him how I truly feel about him since could not get the chance to explain myself yesterday,

and now, look!

I can't find him and it's frustrating, I have been standing in this cafe for hours yet no sign of him.

I was taunted in my mind, and finally, I decide to leave there the cafe and check for him at his faculty.

I was to leave the cafe when I whacked into Drake, my heart slammed with the shock of bumping into him.

He was the last person I had expected to see and I had no reason of seeing him because we had nothing or any reason to see each other.

However, I was expecting him to walk by as I have taken a step away from him but he held my hand back which made me pause walking.

“Please don't go!” Drake demanded and I was struck by the sound of his voice which immediately activated the lost feelings I had buried.

At that moment I wanted to ask him thousands of reasons why he left me, why he toss me like I was nothing to him but I was broken, into shreds of pieces that I could not find a better word to start with by interrogating him.

He said the word again **Please! and I knew at this moment that nothing will be done because my emotion has been waiting to hear him.

We return to my previous seat in the cafe, everything has seen good,

The music was playing and the aura of the cafe was delicate but it was comfortable for me because I had imagined Marcus stumbly into Drake and me.

For that, I wish Drake could just say what he wanted and leave, but from the look of things he is not ready to stop talking and I'm not ready to buy the cheap excuse he is telling me.

In other to make things easy I had to break his line of speech,

“Why are you telling me all this?”

“It's because I want us to be friends like we use to!”

The minutes he said what was actually his thought blew me to ask him,

“Friends!

Do you even know the meaning of friends?

I was never your friend!

And we can never be friends because I don't deserve to have such a hard-heart person like you”

I immediately stood up and ran out of the cafe so fast to avoid him getting to reach but I was careless when I stumble into a girl,

“Watch where you are going fish!”

“I'm sorry !” I honestly apologize but she clutch me and yelled,

“Zena !”

Good friends are easy to forget but thanks to goodness she gave me time to recall her name and I hollered,

“Elsa!,

My goodness, what are you doing here?”

I was overwhelmed to see Elsa that I had to the position from the cafe because I could directly see where I was running away from.

Drake had reached where I stood, and the odd circle made me ask her because I presume she is with Drake now,

“Are you here to see someone?”

“**Nooo!,

I'm here to pick up some snacks,” Elsa excitedly replied,

Drake was ogling at me from a distance before the cafe spot because he had walked to get to me but he quickly notice by our gesture that I and my friend might return to the cafe and he revise to the cafe.

We both return to the cafe because I was not in a rush to go home, moreover, mom promised to come to pick me up.

The time was much and I need a reason to spend time with Elsa and at least catch up with the last friendship we had paused,

Meanwhile, hanging with Elsa was more comfortable than Drake because I get to giggle loud at every minute we talk but the moment my sight slammed into Drake's sight scorches my happy mood.

We had snacks in the cafe and chit-chat for a while and we left.

The cafe is meters away from the school block so we walk to the school straight to Elsa's car,

“Zena let me drop you home!”

“Thanks, Elsa!

My mom will soon be here to pick me up”

Grimacing my face unintentional because the sun smite me with its harshness but I could at least wear a comfortable look not to make her insist on convincing me any further and Elsa replied,

“Okay then!

If you insist! I will see you on Monday same spot my 3pm”

“Same spot !” I remarkably repeated after her while dashing out a smile, she wave at me and drove off.

I was still glittering from the smile I gave Elsa when Drake said after he had taken a close step beside me,

“A lot has changed!”

I turn to face him and give him my last piece of mind but he was quick to shun me.
