Lucan
“Just shut the fuck up Luella so we can listen for a heartbeat.” I growled
She looked at me and rolled her eyes.
“Yes Alpha.” She growled
I looked at the doctor who was looking at me expectantly.
“Go ahead doctor you should have no more interruptions.” I advised
“Yes Alpha.” He replied
The doctor placed what looked like a wand on her stomach and started to move it around on the jell that he placed earlier.
“This should not take long because you are a werewolf and usually pregnancies only last six months so the heartbeat should be fairly audible.”
I nodded and looked at the screen to see what showed on the monitor I waited for what seemed like forever. The doctor stopped pulled the wand away and looked at me.
“I am sorry Alpha I do not hear a heartbeat… yet.” He spoke
The doctor stood up to look at me.
“What do you mean yet.”
“Well, it may be just too early but I can take some blood and we can test the blood to see if she is pregnant.”
The nurse whom I do not know the name of yet opened the doctor’s bag and pulled out some empty tubes and a needle as well as a cleaning swab. I watched Luella as she saw the needle and her eyes widened.
“Fuck no you are not taking my blood.”
“Oh, my dear you are definitely going to have your blood taken.” I stared at her
I know she hated needles, but it needed to be done.
“No and you cannot make me.”
“Alpha we can just wait for another week or so and check again.”
“I do not want to wait I need to know if the woman who tried to have my daughter killed may also be the mother of one of my children.”
The doctor looked at me with sympathy.
“Okay Alpha.”
I spoke through the pack link to Callum and the guards.
“When I say now, I want you two to each hold a leg down and Callum you grab her left arm I will take her right one.” I spoke through the pack link
“Yes, Alpha they all replied.”
“Why are they in here?” Luella asked fear in her eyes
I looked right at her and before she knew what was happening.
“Now.” I spoke through the link
We all took our positions and grabbed her to hold her in place.
“No, you cannot do this.” she tried to get out of our grasps
“But we already have.” I paused looked at her and then the doctor, “Now take her blood doc.” I advised
“Yes Alpha.”
He moved into position to take her blood.
“You will feel a pinch Luella but if you do not look you may not even notice.”
Tears rolled down her cheeks and she looked at me.
“Please do not do this Lucan I am sorry for what I did just do not let him use that needle on me.”
“I know you do not like needles Luella, but we need to know.”
She nodded her head in surrender and I saw her look away. After she looked away the nurse waled closer, and I stiffened she smelled so good. Fuck what was wrong with me.
The nurse tied a band around her arm so it would be easier to find a vein and when she found it, she cleaned the area. Once it was clean, she inserted the needle into her arm and pulled enough blood for three tubes.
“I am sorry you do not like needles Luella.”
Luella looked at her after a second and smiled.
“We are done but before I remove the needle, I am going to have them release you I need you to promise you will not attack anyone because I need you to place pressure over the area.”
Luella nodded in understanding.
“You can release her.” The nurse spoke
“Are you sure?” I asked
She nodded.
“Ok you heard the nurse release her and step back to give her some room.” I advised
“Yes Alpha.” they spoke
The nurse removed the needle and before I knew what was happening Luella had her in a choke hold.
“You all need to back up and I will not kill her right here.” Luella advised
“Luella let her go now.” I ordered
“Fuck off!” She growled and paused, “I am going to leave this room and you are going to let me or I will kill the nurse.”
I was worried but I noticed the doctor was not fazed and I remembered what she told me when I met her.
“Luella there is something you do not know about me.” The nurse spoke
“What is that bitch?” She asked
“I am not just a nurse.” She advised
“Enlighten me who the fuck are you then.” Luella spoke
It happened so fast I almost did not see what happened if it was not for my Alpha instincts, I would not have seen it.
I was shocked the nurse was now the one in control of the situation and she did it without injuring her. She slipped her hold.
“What the fuck just happened?” Luella asked in confusion
“Well Luella my name is Kassandra I have been training since I was five and my father was my trainer you may have heard of him…” she paused and smiled, “Kassius our packs head warrior.” She advised
She threw her at one of the guards who caught her.
“Now I am going to leave a bandage and a cotton ball her if you would like to stop yourself from bleeding, I am going to leave so we can test your blood.” She paused and looked at the doctor, “Doctor let us head out.” She advised
“Yes Kassie.” He smiled
“Take care of your own wound we will leave you to it Lu.” I growled at her
The guard used a card to open the door and we all left the room as we were leaving, we heard a thud on the other side of the door.
“Nurse before you go, I would like a word with you in my personal office in my room please in twenty minutes.”
The nurse was walking away with the doctor and stopped in her tracks turned to look at me and seem concerned.
“Yes, Alpha.” she and the doctor bowed and left
“You two stand guard and Callum go see Amelia and let her know about our plans.”
“Yes, Alpha.” they all spoke
I went to my room to wait.

Kassandra
“Doc is there anything else you will need I am going to head over to see the Alpha.” I spoke
“No I am good why not take the day off after that I am sure you could use the break after what happened to you.”
I nodded and headed out to go and see the Alpha I was nervous and decided to talk to Alice about it on the way over.
“I hope the Alpha is not mad at me for what I did in Luella’s room.” I spoke to my wolf
“I am sure it is fine Kass.” Alice advised
“I am nervous, but I have a question why were you so anxious when we were near the Alpha.” I asked
“I do not know why but did you notice he had a strange scent I kind of liked it.” Alice advised
“Yes, but I am not sure what that smell was though and usually an unusual scent means the person is you destined mate or second chance mate.” I advised “But we cannot be his mate as he has already had his second chance with Luella, and no one has ever heard of a third chance mate.”
“Anyway, let’s talk about that more later I am sure this is just to see if you are okay after our incident with that bitch.” Alice spoke
I laughed and we just walked up to the Alphas door. I knock three times and he answered the door.

“Thank you for coming miss Kassandra.” I spoke
I was nervous and so was Asher.
“No problem, Alpha.”
“Please call me Luc we are alone no formalities are needed.” I advised
“Umm… okay Luc.” She paused, “Why did you want to see me?” she asked
“Well for two reasons.”
“Okay what would you like to know?” she asked
“How are you after today’s events not hurt, I hope?” I asked
“No, I am fine not a scratch on me.”
“That is good to hear.”
“What else?” She asked
“Well Kassandra do you sense anything from me?” I asked
She gulped and nodded.
“You make me nervous Alpha.” She spoke
I growled quietly.
“I said please call me Luc.” I advised
“Sorry Luc.”
I walked closer to her, so I was only a foot away.
“Why do I make you nervous Kass?” I asked
“Well, you are the Alpha but there is more, and I do not know how to make sense of it you smell so good.”
“Oh, do I what do I smell like.” I asked
I stepped even closer and starred into her beautiful grey eyes. Only inches separated us now.
“You smell like fresh cut apples but that cannot be right.” She spoke and blushed
“Why is that Kass?” I asked
“Only a mate should smell like that I have talked to my mom about it before and that is what she said.” She paused, “You have already had your mate and second chance mate.” She advised in confusion
“Well only part of that is true.” I advised and paused, “Yes, my first Luna Yvonne was my mate before she passed away but…”
