RUSSO EL MASSIMO
"Is she back home?" I questioned.
"Not yet, boss. She is still in that house." Matteo replied.
"Make sure she does not get out of their sight. If she sneaks off somewhere without them knowing, they might as well commit suicide rather than bring that news to me."
"Yes, boss"
I picked the glass of beer which was now empty. Seeing the empty glass fueled the anger I was keeping in check.
"Fuck" I cursed and threw the glass across the room, causing a loud shriek of fear to come from the man tied to the wall.
Rio.
I got up from my seat and paced the room twice. I could not get those words out of my head no matter how hard I tried. Rosaline believed that I could kill her.
I knew that was because of the manipulation from the bastard she was going to meet but whatever the fuck could he have said to her that would make Caramia actually believe that I would harm her to the point of death?!
Fuck! I couldn't even stand her tears and she thought I would be able to stand the sight of her blood flowing?!
"Rio" I moved towards him and tore off the tape over his mouth. I pulled out the gag in his mouth and he coughed.
"Please, Massimo" he begged.
"Just... Just let me live or kill me right now. I... I can't stand this anymore" he cried, his voice weak and pathetic.
"I am actually far from being done with you and I am in an especially bad mood tonight so you just might expect worse"
He gasped and started struggling against the chains that held him to the wall.
"You know struggling would do nothing, Rio"
"Please... Please, I will never... I will never ever assault a lady in my life... Hell, I would never look at a lady in my life" he cried, struggling even more.
"Matteo" I called and Matteo stepped forward with the kettle of boiling water.
"No! No!... Please... Massimo! Please! I... I will do anything..."
"Calm the fuck down" I hit him in the face, causing his broken nose to bleed all over again.
"I am not killing you yet. I just think you could do away with your hair. How easy would it be to pull your hair out if I soften your scalp with hot water?..." I grabbed him by the neck and pulled his head forward.
"Do the pouring" I ordered and Matteo began pouring the boiling water.
Screams of pain filled the room as Rio struggled and cried. The pouring went on, slowly for about a minute before I pulled Rio's head back.
"Listen to me fucking carefully, Rio!" I growled.
"Every fucking thing I have done to you is just the tip of the iceberg. If I find out that your fucking useless father is the reason behind my headache tonight, I swear I am going to have a team of doctors in here and have them treat you so I can torture you over and over again. I am going to knock out every teeth of yours and I am going to kill you oh so slowly! So if you want a fucking better death, you pray that your father isn't behind this!" I let go of his head as his body shook in pain.
"Ensure he doesn't die" I ordered before grabbing my coat and walking out.
Rosaline fucking Caramia!
I groaned in anger. Believing I would kill her wax fucking preposterous!
ROSALINE
I stared at the mail on my phone for a while. A mail from someone called Giovanni, pleading with me to meet up with him on issues concerning his son, Rio.
I really, really had no zeal to respond to the mail or even think much about the mail.
I alighted from my car and looked up at the mansion I knew as home. I couldn't help but feel my heart pounding.
I held my bag firmly as I walked in. The living room was empty but something told me that Russo was in. I hoped my makeup had hidden how devastated and how shattered I actually was. I had cried all night and developed a migraine in fact.
I was going to get this over with and pay my parent's and grandfather's grave a visit today. And then I will start making my plans to move out of this home. I wasn't sure I could feel safe staying in the same home with him, especially now that I planned on taking steps to actually threaten his position as CEO and chairman.
I had never wanted that position. I found it too stressful and too tainted but this time, I had to do it for myself and for my family.
I walked up the stairs and headed to Russo's study where I guessed he would be. I walked into the study and I was right. He was in there.
"I wonder why you are walking alone into the room where your potential killer is" he remarked, not raising his head up one bit.
I felt a pang of pain at how he had treated my presence but I gulped it down. Why should I feel pain at how he treats my presence? I know better now.
"That's not a very smart thing to do. Well, except you are armed with a weapon to get rid of your potential killer first" he still didn't raise his head.
I reached into my purse and pulled out a letter. I walked to his table and dropped the letter.
"There"
"What's in it?" He asked, his fingers working on his laptop.
"Read it, Mr. Massimo."
"If you won't tell me what's in there, kindly pick up the letter and go to your room before your potential killer kills you in here."
I felt a bit of anger in me but I held it back. Russo was a good pretender and manipulator, wasn't he?
"Alright, that's my resignation letter. I am resigning from my position as the manager." I said to him and his fingers on the laptop stilled.
He finally took his gaze off the screen and looked at me. His gaze rested on me for a few seconds before he picked up the letter.
He tore it open and glanced through the content. He chuckled and dropped the letter back on the table.
"Resignation letters don't come to me directly. Take it to the necessary department and also I don't deal with business at home." His indifference made my toes curl but I maintained my composure.
I snatched the letter off the table.
"It's a good thing that you are finally showing your true self and no longer pretending to want me or be crazy over me. Pretense didn't look good on you, Mr. Massimo."
His gaze on me switched from that of indifference to a slightly intense one and I felt my knees go a little bit weak.
"Bye" I managed to say as I turned and walked out.
