Chapter 66 lost her
My eyes roamed over the back of his hand. I noticed that though it was roughed up, it didn’t look like it was his blood. “What happened?”, I asked in a whisper.
“Nothing you need to worry about,” He grunted out and pulled the bloody hand out of my grasp. “Let’s go inside, it’s too cold out here and I brought your breakfast,” He continued quickly, not giving me a chance to protest.
“Huh! Okay,” I shrugged my shoulders then entered inside the bedroom. He slammed the door behind us and also entered. Per now I had my moods ruined up. I felt uncomfortable, he didn’t only have blood on his knuckles but also his release was coated in between my thighs.
“Just a moment,” I mumbled before I walked to the bathroom to freshen up.
In the wall-length mirror, I looked at myself. I instantly cringed at what I saw.
“Is this what Idris saw when he found me?” I inwardly asked myself as I checked out my body in the mirror. My blonde curls were more messed up than usual and they fell randomly around my shoulders and down my back.
My skin was paler and my cheeks stood out more than normal. I know I have been starved once, passed through different stuff, but I have never lost weight like I was per now. I surely gave my life to Idris as I was healing his wound. I did it and there was still more I needed to learn from him.
Pushing those thoughts to the back of my mind, I quickly showered then combed through my hair. On my way out, I noticed a shirt hanging on the back of the door. It was Idris’s shirt. Without thinking, I pulled it over my head then walked out.
“I liked the view before,” As soon as Idris’s eyes landed on me, he said with a devilish grin pulling up at the corner of his lips.
I merely squinted my eyes and frowned at him. That made him chuckle.
“Food is over there,” He nodded his head to the table.
“May I look at your hand?” Ignoring the food, I walked straight to the bed. When he felt my presence, he sighed and gave me his hand.
“I’m happy to know that you care about me,” He spoke but I just ignored him and kept staring at his hand.
Blood was already wiped away but there was still some discoloration around his knuckles.
“So will you tell me what happened to your hand?” I asked again while rubbing my palm over it. I didn’t know what the hell had happened to me but I now cared about him and I wanted to know everything about him.
“As I was in a meeting with some Alphas, I heard the beta of the Black Stone Pack murmur at how unlucky I was to be given a human mate.” The tone of his voice was gruff.
“So?” I paused.
“You punched him?” My face pinched together as I studied his face.
“He got what he deserved,” He growled with his jaw clenching with anger.
Without replying to him, I quickly reached out and slid into his lap and rested my hands on his chest.
“Though at first I wasn’t happy with the fact that a human was my mate, I still felt hurt when you were being starved,” He spoke out in a low voice.
“Why didn’t you say anything when Miss Scarlett gave me that punishment?” I retorted while running my fingers on his chest.
“I wanted to break your defiance and ruin your life until you submit to me but unfortunately you remained stubborn,” His words made me feel like laughing as I recalled the hard glares I used to throw up in his way every time I saw him.
“I wanna go visit Dr. Tracy,” I changed the subject then jumped from his lap.
“No problem, I also still have some stuff to deal with,” He said adjusting his pants. He was shockingly having a semi-erection. Ignoring him, I opened up the wardrobe, got a pair of leggings, put them on then walked out of the room. I had a smile on my face as I walked to the infirmary, Zara had told me.
“Oh! Here comes the Luna,” Just as I had stepped inside, a lady with short neck-length hair murmured with a smile on her face.
“Huh!” I stood frozen in the doorway as my eyes scanned the hospital. I was looking for Dr. Tracy.
“Please come in, are you looking for Dr. Tracy? We have no patients per now and she is free,” The lady’s voice interrupted the train of my thoughts.
“Yes, I'm gonna come in,” I half smiled at her.
“I have a fresh pot of tea—”
“Raelynn, is that you?” Just as the lady began, Dr. Tracy’s scream cut her off mid-sentence.
“Dr. Tracy,” I spoke happily before pulling her into a tight hug. The last time I saw her rush into the room to help Idris, I had my mind away. I couldn’t run to her and show her how excited I was to know that she was alive.
“Raelynn, come over and have tea with me, I really have much to tell you,” She pulled away from the hug then walked me to a chair.
“I thought that I had lost you,” The words quickly fell out of my mouth.
“Lost? What happened to me that made you think like that?” Her response made my jaw instantly drop.
It hit me at once—she didn’t recall anything that happened to her as we were running.
“Here is the tea,” Before I could say anything, the lady handed me black tea.
“Thanks, Dr. Sarah,” I heard Dr. Tracy talk to the lady.
“Fire caught up my clinic and I was saved by Alpha Idris,” Dr. Tracy began after taking a sip of her tea.
I fell more speechless when I heard her say that she was saved. That only meant that her memory was changed. She did recall that I was Raelynn but didn’t remember me losing my baby and she didn’t recall being kidnapped.
