Chapter 39 Don’t kill her
By the look on Mark's face , it looked like he was getting raked over the coals. He made another call and talked with a cold look on his face and then it seemed like he was getting into an argument with someone else. When he walked back to the car he dialed another number which I attentively paid my attention to.
"Zara we are in the car due to a problem , security breach are you almost done there?",
"No wrap it up i'mmediately",
"No per alpha , it's urgent or l will have to take Miss Raelynn at home and come back later to get you", He leaned back at the jeep and stared at me.
"She has said that what Ice cream do you want ?",He asked me.
"Any she wants", l shrugged my shoulders.
"She has said that surprise her", he said and ended the call.
After that he pulled out and left Zara at the supermarket. He drove me back to the pack. Throughout the whole journey , l kept looking everywhere trying to see whether l could remember the road. Just as l was still looking ,the phone all of the sudden started ringing. I took it out with my heart pumping more faster.
"A" was calling. I stared at it without saying anything. After the third ring , Mark cleared his throat. "Answer that miss Karen", He murmured but l didn't , l couldn't do anything but stare at the screen. It finally stopped at 5 rings but then Mark's phone rang instantly. Throughout the moment ,he said yes sirs and no sirs all the way back to the pack.
When we pulled inside the gate. He stopped in front of the gate and sat there for what seemed like the longest time. He then dialed the phone. "What is your ETA?", "Shit l couldn't do it , it didn't work", "No that's not the plan , we will have to reschedule it", He growled into the phone and then hung it up.
After that he drove inside. "You can go ahead miss Raelynn , I'm instructed to come with you , keep you company until when Alpha Jaden returns", I nodded at that , opened up the car and followed him inside the house. I didn't go in my room , I just sat at the stool at the kitchen island then folded my hands in front of me. I was so dizzy and stressed out.
"Please don't hurt her too , please don't kill her too", it was the chant inside my head and l said it over and over. "Do you want something to drink or eat ?",He asked me after some minutes. He seemed really uncomfortable. I nodded my head in response. At that he put his suit jacket on the back of the chair , loosened up his tie and then rolled up the sleeves of his shirt and filled up the kettle.
"I didn't have anything to do with that", l whispered. "She is a good person , don't kill her this time", l continued with my lower lip tingling. "Alpha Jaden is gonna find a way to make her back off , don't fret", He said softly then put the kettle on it's base and turned it on.
He later stepped into the dining room when his phone vibrated. I couldn't hear his conversation this time. A moment later he returned and filled a tea pot and put it on the table with two cups , the sugar and the milk. After a few minutes later we were drinking tea. We were silent through out the whole moment but it was kind of a comfortable silence.
Finally he fetched a newspaper from another room and handed me the entertainment section and opened himself the sports section. After a while I heard a noise. I had a feeling that it might be Zara but he'll no it was Jaden. He was leaning in the door way of the kitchen , his face stoic , his eyes narrowed and angry unfortunately on me.
"That's all for now", He said in a deep voice and without any word said , Mark left the room.
"Upstairs", He said to me very calmly and then turned on his heels. I was frozen in place that I didn't move any step. He looked back over his shoulder and glared at me.
"NOW", he groaned out in a deep voice.
I rose slowly and then followed along. I took slow deep breaths wishing that I could just vanish in thin air. He made his way to his room but I followed him without speaking any word. Inside the master bedroom , he sat on the bed and started to untie his black leather shoes then he took them off without a word said.
He took his tie off too , his blazer off and took the cufflinks out. I just looked through out the whole moment. He looked more dressed up than usual. Great! this incident got him pulled out of an important meeting that would have put him in a fine mood. He took his silver crucifix necklace off and put it on the night stand.
He also took his shirt off and threw it on the bed then he folded his hands and stood up on the bed. He undid his belt. At this time he was looking at me with intensity while biting down on his bottom lip. My heart rate started to pick up and my throat felt dry. He had the halved belt in his hands and jerked his hands to make it snap loudly.
I jolted and then shuddered at that. "So?", He said to me. "Care to explain what really happened in the store today ?", He asked in a low voice. I blanched i'mmediately when I heard him say that , he already knew what happened in the store today from Mark.
"Don't kill her too", l whispered.
