EPILOGUE - You Promised Me!

Sixteen years later...

It's a family reunion, Alpha Alvarez and Luna Meg have just arrived in Eclipse Howl, accompanied by their Betas Zalev and Louise of Blue Blood. They are guests of Lori and Romero for the annual family reunion.

Cliara and Hedrick are on their way, late as usual. They keep complaining that it is high season and they are having trouble finding seats on the plane. They have turned down several offers from Romero and Zane to pick them up by jet. This couple just likes to arrive late to make a grand entrance.

Beta Jace desperately tries to keep the barbecue going until the meat is done. He has already burned himself a few times due to his inexperience. But he is determined to prove himself, and Romero stands with his hands at his sides, shaking his head as he watches his heroics.

"Please Latore, wear a shirt anyway. You are on your own time, a shirt is uncomfortable at a barbecue," Lori tries to persuade her eldest son.

"Mum, Jhana likes me better in a shirt. She said it looks sexy on me, it shows off my muscular chest". The boy won't be talked out of it, he'll do anything to please Jhana. Even if the girl prefers to see him in a shirt, he is willing to wear one all day, even bathe in it. Jhana is his goddess, the first pup of Luna and Alpha of the Blue Blood.

Lori can barely keep a smile from her face. Her son seems obsessed with the girl, fulfilling all her wishes like a puppy. He even insisted on attending the same school as her, didn’t mind the one-hour traveling at all.

"Listen, my son. Jhana is not being unreasonable. I am sure she did not mean that you have to wear a shirt every time, regardless of the activity. Ask her again," the mother advised.

Latore leaves the living room, heading for the backyard, where the girls are chatting on a bench.

But as he steps out the door, he sees his brother Wallace standing in a corner with Dihana in his arms, the two of them engaged in fiery lovemaking. He frowns; he too would like to kiss Jhana like that, but he doesn't dare. So far, pecks on the cheek as he drops her off are all he gets.

He remains standing, listening to the couple's conversation. "We have to wait, Wallace. In a few years, we'll be twenty-one and then we can get more. But for now, we have to hold back.” His brother sighs deeply and kisses the girl again.

Standing next to the chatting girls, Latore waves to Jhana. "Jhana, can I talk to you separately?"

Blushing, Jhana pulls away from her friends and leaves with Latore. "Jhana, you know I value your opinion highly. You said you liked me with a shirt on. Would it be the same if I wore a sweater now? My mother says it goes better with the barbecue.”

"Latore. I thought your shirt looked good on you that day. But really, everything you wear looks good on you. You add value to clothes. You make them worth wearing and being seen in. The sweater would be fine, too".

The boy beamed at his crush's reply. "Thank you, Jhana. My mother will be pleased to hear that you share her opinion". He bent towards the girl to give her a quick kiss on the cheek, as usual. But Jhana suddenly looks up and their lips meet.

At first, they are both startled.

But Latore cupped her face and deepened the kiss. He has little experience, having only experimented a few times with a classmate. He parts her lips and slides his tongue into her mouth. Jhana leans against him, enjoying the sensation his touch gives her.

"Jhana, I am in love with you. I don't know when my feelings for you changed, but just know that one day I will make you my Luna. You and no one else," he whispers passionately against her lips as he holds her close. "You are so precious."

For a moment, the girl is surprised by his words. She has heard about the mating of Wallace's parents, which also began with a promise made by the Alpha to the Luna.

"Latore, please. We are still young, you can still meet so many she-wolves. And I may not be your fated mate. Never make a promise if you are not sure if you can keep it. A promise is like a seal, unbreakable.”

"That's right, baby, that's right. That's why I promise to make you my Luna. You must wait for me, on the eve of my twenty-first birthday, then I will wait for you here in the pack. Just wait for me. Promise.” They rest their foreheads against each other.

"Okay, I will wait for you, Latore".

When the girl returns to her friends, Adlin and Xena, they curiously ask what Latore wants from her. Xena is the daughter of Eclipse Howl's Betas, Jace and Rachel. She is a hybrid, Rachel being a witch and Jace a werewolf.

"He promised to make me his Luna."

Shocked, the two stare at Jhana, who stares dreamily in front of her.

Five years later in Blue Blood...

"Jhana, the flowers keep coming, but there is no card from the station. Do you have a secret admirer?" Luna Meg is getting desperate about the basket of roses that keeps getting delivered to the packhouse. All in the name of her daughter Jhana. The girl is nineteen; it will be some time before she reaches the age of consent.

Jhana is also surprised, she has no idea who is sending all the flowers. The roses come in all colors, in all kinds of baskets.

"Don't worry, he'll show up soon and then we'll know who the romantic is," jokes Alpha Alvarez as he puts an arm around his daughter's shoulders.

"Okay then. Now hurry up and leave. The birthday boy has already arrived in Eclipse Howl. We will definitely be late if you continue at this turtle pace. I want to see the moment when he sniffs out his mate and I want to see who the lucky one is, the future Luna of Eclipse Howl.” She misses the pained expression on her daughter's face.

When their Jet finally lands at Eclipse Howl, it is after midnight. The party is in full swing, the music blaring far and wide. What they don't notice is a young man waiting quietly in a dark corner of the runway for them to disembark.

For two years, he was outside his pack at Alpha Training, impatiently awaiting this day. His eyes are fixed on Jhana, who has no idea she is being watched.

As the family sets foot on the ground, he comes out of his hiding. His eyes glow like hot coals, his wolf trying to overwhelm him with joy.

‘MATE! MINE!’ he whispers in love.

Recognizing him, Jhana runs to the man and throws herself into his arms.

"Latore! You are back at last. Do you remember your promise? I have been waiting for you".

The Alpha and Luna look at each other surprised, not expecting to see this.

"Hey, she's not twenty-one yet," the father reminds the young man.

Without taking his eyes off the girl, he answers the man.

"Yes, I know. But my wolf has already claimed her, now we have to wait another two years. It's no problem, she's already the Luna of Eclipse Howl," Latore whispers, infatuated.

And when they arrive at the packhouse, it is just announced that Wallace's wolf has accepted Dihanna, the daughter of Beta Louise and Zalev, as his mate.

He, too, will have to wait a few more years to claim her.

The celebrations go on with two mated couples.

No one notices Adlin Elaine Jon, who is longingly watching Alpha's son Luciano from her table.

She too will have to wait…
