Epilogue 2 A Wonderful Life!
Ten Years Later
Our life has been fantastic. When Alejandro was 4 years old and Rosa Alexandra was 2, we had another surprise, Rosa Michelle, whom we call Michelina. She looks so much like my first daughter.
She is a blonde girl with very lively blue eyes. Now my eldest son is 14 years old, Rosa Alexandra is 12, and Michelina is 10.
My three children are quite intelligent. My eldest son has been taking things apart since he was little; he wanted to figure out how toy trains work and why cars roll. Nowadays, he is a very affectionate boy, mature for his age, quite mischievous and lively, and very studious.
My first daughter says that when she grows up, she will be a businesswoman. She is a lady in her behavior, very elegant and refined, also very calm. Her behavior resembles that of her mother and maternal grandmother.
Now, my big headache is named Rosa Michelle, or as we all call her, Michelina. She wants to know the reason for everything: why she can't do this or that, why her siblings visit Margaret and she doesn't, why they do something and she can't, why Alejandro can do some things and she can't.
In short, her whys are endless, driving us crazy, and I feel old when I argue with her.
Regarding technology, she also seeks explanations. My little girl is very sharp; she understands many difficult video games and software. There are moments when I feel proud when she reaches a valid conclusion about something related to technology. Her way of searching for information on the computer is overwhelming.
I regret not listening to Valeria. She told me to give her dolls and not so many gadgets, and now I see the results.
What really calms her is cooking. Valeria, Rosalía, and Cristina get all three of them to make delicious sweets.
My three children focus a lot on these tasks. Their mom guides them on portions, quantities, and ingredients, and they follow through with great concentration.
In Michelina's case, she likes to mix the ingredients. She measures them very carefully to get the exact amount, and when she does, she is very focused.
Her mom is very patient with her. She explains the basic mixing techniques, which ingredient goes first and which last, and how to create wonderful cakes with amazing decorations from a pre-designed plan.
That is the moment when my three children are calm, when their mom teaches them to follow a recipe step by step.
Over time, I have come to understand that happiness is not constantly laughing or going from party to party. I think it is a state of tranquility, support, feeling a hug in times of need, facing problems and good times together.
Knowing that Valeria is my support makes me feel confident. We have faced difficult things, very united.
We focus on keeping the family together, no matter if one of us is far away. We know we can trust that our family and friends will be by our side in difficult times.
We had a scare with Mama Rosalía. We thought the cancer had returned, and it alarmed us greatly.
We thank God it was a false alarm, and we resolved it. It reminded us not to take anything for granted. We must enjoy each day and cherish memories with our loved ones.
Sofía graduated and is now the General Director of my company. I can relax a bit with her there and focus on my home and family.

Ten Years Later
We are at Alejandro's graduation. He graduated summa cum laude in computer engineering and has the honor of giving the graduation speech. I am proud of my three children.
Love and pride overflow. My two daughters are in college. They all like engineering and computer science, especially Michelina, who is dedicated to research and innovation. Although my two daughters are still studying and have not yet graduated.
The problem I have with my daughters is their attractiveness. They are tall women with beautiful, long blonde hair. Michelina always wears a ponytail, jeans, and a t-shirt, while Rosa Alexandra prefers more elegant clothing. Although they look like twins, this difference in their style is fundamental and sets them apart.
My two older sons learned from me the lesson my dad taught me—to always be elegant and well-dressed. All three are very attractive and tall, but the girls attract many suitors, which worries me. I can't keep an eye on them because they're in college.
However, Michelina lives in her own world and isn't aware of what's happening around her. The one who worries me is Rosa Alexandra. Although she's very serious, I know she's gone out with boys several times. I don't want her heart to be broken.
...
Alejandro's speech has begun. Pride fills me as I hear my boy's name on the podium. I hold my wife's hand, who is also excited. On my other side is Rosalía. She's 75 years old but very active and doesn't look her age. Next to her is my old friend Margaret, a bit older, though she doesn't like to be reminded of that. Beside her is Alfred and, of course, my two good friends. Both care deeply for my kids, and my children for them.
"Good morning, distinguished guests, fellow faculty members, graduates, and families present..."
My son spoke about the dreams of many young people who start a career with hopes for the future. Some didn't finish, but those who did should thank God for this opportunity that life has given them. A profession involves knowledge and ethics in its practice, and we must not forget that. Each one of them owes it to the people and provides a service to society.
He emphasized that he feels like a servant to society and that his work should be marked by social responsibility and the development and perfection of knowledge in his field.
One cannot be indifferent and provide poor service. It is necessary for every professional to serve society in the best possible way, not out of ambition, but from the desire to do good work.
Another aspect I want to highlight is that since I was a child, I have learned the virtues of love and the benefits of having family support. I grew up in a united family where friends are family, and we all help each other and rejoice in each other's well-being.
I know this thanks to my parents, who are here today. They taught me values at home that help us be good people and good professionals. I learned from my parents the love of work, responsibility, and fulfilling my obligations, which I believe are essential tools for success.
I thank the university and my professors for my academic training, and my family, parents, uncles, and grandmothers for my human and social formation. I love you all. I am who I am thanks to all of you, who built a beautiful home where my sisters and I have lived happily.
Mom, I learned that every question should have an answer, that to make one of your delicious desserts, you have to follow a series of steps, which leads to a process, and each recipe yields a result. With love and patience, that result will be satisfying, and I want you to know that I've always remembered that. I love you all!
Grandmothers, uncles, sisters, thank you for being there.
"I love you all!" he shouts at the top of his lungs.
Valeria and I look at each other. She is as beautiful as ever to me. We have stayed active, and she helps me with the business. After Alejandro joins us and gains more experience, we plan to take a trip, just the two of us.
Our bracelet has many charms accumulated from pleasant experiences. These charms tell our story, built with great love.
"I love you, Valeria!"
"And I love you, Dubois!"
The end of this story.
