Chapter 1
After I got pregnant, my mate claimed his wolf Lynx had become uncontrollable.
At night, Luca still loved me desperately, but during the day, Lynx was obsessed with his omega mistress.
Alaric Hawke, the Moon Priest, kept insisting Luca was talking bullshit, but I refused to believe him–
Until I went to deliver lunch to the pack house and overheard him talking to his beta.
“Alpha, wow, you’re playing this ‘uncontrolled wolf act perfectly! Banging that omega on the side while keeping your Luna completely devoted. Aren’t you worried that when Seraphina finds out, you’ll regret this?”
Luca’s laugh was cold and dismissive.
“I’m just having a little fun. Ten years bonded to the same she–wolf? Gets boring as hell. Even an alpha needs some fresh tail.”
“Soon as she drops that pup and I’ve had my fill, I’ll find a way to ‘regain control‘ of my wolf. Just keep your mouth shut.”
My hand instinctively protected my belly as ice flooded my veins. Without hesitation, I dialed Alaric.
“You promised you’d love my pup as your own. Your mating proposal–I’m in.”
“Three days, Sera. I’ll come for you then.”
“Who was that?”
The phone had barely gone dead when the office door burst open.
“Sera, what–when did you get here?”
“I told you, I’m in love with Ash! Your obsession won’t change anything!”
I caught the flash of panic in his eyes before he could hide it.
Back then, I would have seen this as a sign he was getting better. But now, I saw right through his pathetic act.
“Fine. I understand.”
I kept my voice steady, picked up the lunch containers, and turned to leave.
“Wait!”
Luca’s face darkened as he grabbed my arm.
“Did you hear something just now?”
Ash’s signature perfume hit my nose, making my stomach lurch.
Yet when we mated, Luca swore he couldn’t stand the scent of perfume on his Luna.
I laughed bitterly. “Your wolf only wants Ash during the day. What exactly should I have heard?”
My peripheral vision caught the trash can–packed with used condoms. My expression froze.
“It’s natural for a wolf to want to claim someone they’re drawn to. Don’t go getting all dramatic on me again.”
Luca blocked my view, irritation clear in his voice.
Even when we were most in love, he’d never fucked me this much–our matings were tender, sacred. Not this crude cutting
The burns on my hands from cooking for him this morning suddenly blazed with pain.
The lunch containers I’d spent hours preparing crashed to the floor, food scattering everywhere.
Luca’s brow twitched slightly.
“I told you Ash doesn’t eat beans!”
“If you can’t handle this, we’ll just sever the bond!”
To keep Lynx from breaking our mate bond, I’d agreed to his degrading terms.
Ash needed proper nutrition as an omega–1 had to hunt and prepare her meals daily.
Ash deserved better housing–I gave up our territory and moved to the pack’s borders.
Ash was a delicate omega–I had to tell everyone our bond was severed to protect her reputation.
I lifted my chin defiantly, refusing to let tears fall.
“Screw her. I’m out!”
And I was done with Luca too.
Before I could finish, sharp pain tore through my belly. Face pale, I pushed toward the door.
“Oh! Are you Seraphina? Lynx’s ex–mate?”
A petite omega burst through the door, knocking me to the ground.
“Careful there, little wolf. You know how you get when you hurt yourself.”
Luca caught her, kneeling to check her ankle with tender concern while completely ignoring me.
But back then, if I pricked my finger, Luca would be heartbroken over such a small wound.
“Sera, I’ll never let anything hurt you. Your pain is my pain.”
“Seraphina, you barely got bumped. There’s not even blood. What’s with the dramatics?”
The promises he once whispered were now replaced by cold cruelty.
My heart shattered as the pain in my belly intensified. I tried several times to get up from the floor but couldn’t manage it.
A terrible dread was building inside me.
“What’s all this drama for? Since when does a Luna act this pathetic?”
Ash rolled her eyes and, still wearing her heels, stomped hard on my stomach.
“Ahhhhh–!”
My scream made Ash smirk with satisfaction.
“See, Lynx? Listen to how loud she can scream. She’s totally fine–just trying to guilt–trip you with the whole helpless act.
Panic flashed in Luca’s eyes.
“How could you… She’s carrying a pup. The pup is innocent.”
Ash pouted playfully.
“Oh, Lynx, I was just trying to rub some good luck off her belly. I’m just a little omega–how much damage could I possibly do?”
Lúca sighed helplessly and tapped her nose.
En Walf Choatelt.
Chapter 1
“You little troublemaker.”
He looked down at me with disgust.
“Seraphina, since the pup’s fine, get up. I told you–I’m not him. Don’t think you can use that pup
But it was him who had once pressed gentle kisses to my belly, promising to protect us both.
Did he really think I was that stupid? That I couldn’t even see right through his bullshit act?.
to manipulate me.”
I tried to speak, but agony ripped through my belly like a blade. I felt something warm and wet spreading beneath me–something flowing out of my body.
Terror seized me. I crawled forward and grabbed his pants leg.
“My belly… it hurts so much. Luca, please, save me. Save our pup.”
“Ash barely tapped you. There’s gotta be a limit to act-”
Luca glanced down impatiently, but his words died when he saw the pool of crimson beneath me.
Finally, Luca panicked. He swept me into his arms.
“Hey, babe, don’t be scared. It’s really me now–Luca’s back. I’m gonna to the pack healer, okay?“”
Even now, he wouldn’t drop the act.
As another wave of pain hit, everything went black.
