Chapter 33 Chubby tummy
"Ahhh!" The shirking continued.
It wasn't just the group behind them, it was everyone. It was as though the entire bleachers had gone mad.
The noise made both Irene and Tori who didn't understand what was going on frown.
"What's going..." Tori wanted to ask as she turned around, but all the words disappeared from her lips the second her eyes met the field. "Oh my God!" She yelled, her voice even louder than some of the other girls. Then she turned back to Irene, jumping eagerly. "I told you Miles is freaking hot!" She shook her shoulders, "I told you!"
"Stop shaking me..." Irene groaned, as her body swayed. "I'm dizzy enough as it is."
"Look at him..." She said dreamily, shifting to the side so Irene could take a look at what they were all yelling at.
"Damn..."
Okay...
Irene had to admit... Miles was hot.
He had taken off his shirt after scoring a touch down at the last minute. His abdomen and muscles were already defined at his age... It was swoon worthy.
Tori turned to look at him again and Irene shook her head.
The dizziness immediately returned. "I'm just..." She stumbled, "I'm just going to sit down..." She said, but before she could take a step, her eyes spotted her nemesis walking over towards her.
A scowl immediately appeared her face.
Nelson stood in front of her, still wearing his quarterback outfit, holding a bottle of mineral water in his hand, a smirk on his face. "I didn't peg you as a pervert." He said leisurely and Irene glared at him.
"Yeah, when everyone does it, it's fine." She said and rolled her eyes, "But when I stare, or even glance, I'm the pervert." She said and then chuckled dryly. "I'm just glad you didn't take of your shirt, not everyone wants to see your chubby tummy."
Her words made the smirk on Nelson's face falter. He took a daunting step towards her, a mysterious glint in his eyes. "Oh, I'm going to..."
Irene tried to step back, but she immediately felt a wave of dizziness and she grabbed her head. "Ah... My head..." She mumbled, her face contorting in pain.
Tori who had been speechless since Nelson arrived took the opportunity to speak. She came to stand next to Irene. "Nelson, she hasn't eaten all day." She complained.
Irene wanted to glare at Victoria.
What the fuck was that? He already bullies her, why make the guy think she was really weak too?
Nelson scoffed. "So just because you wanted to see Miles shirtless, you refused to eat?" He asked, his tone sounding dangerous.
Irene looked up at him.
Why did he sound so annoyed?
Before she could figure out the answer to the question, he threw the bottle in his hands at her. "Drink it."
Irene reacted quickly and caught it.
"...And find yourself something to eat, I don't want anything happening to my favourite past time." Nelson continued. After he said that, he didn't spare her a second glance and walked away.
"Favourite past time..." Irene mimicked, before rolling her eyes. Then she stared at the mineral water.
Just because he didn't want her to get sick? That sounded too suspicious.
They had to be another reason for Nelson to be nice to her. Or maybe... He wouldn't poison it now, would it?
She asked herself, glaring at the water bottle as though it was after her life... Maybe it was.
But she felt faint, and she was dizzy. She hadn't eaten or drank anything all morning...
"What the heck..." She mumbled before turning the cap of the half drunken bottle. Then she gulped it down.
What she didn't know was that she was being watched. The group of three seniors behind her had been holding their breath, following her every move.
"Did he just give her his water?" One of them asked as she watched Irene gulp the bottle of water down her throat, completely obviously to them.
"Is that Nelson Clark's bottle? his hand touched those." Another one said.
"She drank it." The last one confirmed when Irene wiped her mouth. "She drank his sacred water."
They had been focused on watching shirtless Miles on the field so they missed the exact point Nelson began walking towards where they stood.
It was one of the girls... The one who wished to see Nelson shirtless that had noticed it.
They began fixing their shirt, staring at him, while hoping that he was coming towards them, only for him to stand to talk to the junior in front of them.
What upset them the most was the junior's attitude. She didn't even regard him... She even rolled her eyes when he spoke to her.
She rolled her eyes!
Who the hell did she think she was to gain Nelson's Clark attention?
And when she stumbled, they scoffed. Of course they thought it was fake, an act to win the handsome quarterback over.
But what surprised that was that, Nelson moved.
It was only a little. A lot of people would miss it, but they who had dedicated two whole years to studying and watching their two handsome juniors, noticed.
He actually moved as though to help, but... But as soon as the girl looked up, he stopped.
They were yet to recover from that shock when they got another one. One which was much more shocking.
He gave her his water!
Forget the excuse he made... But he gave her his bottle, and she drank it!
"How dare you drink Nelson's water!" One of them yelled furiously pointing at Irene. Before Irene knew it, they were all glaring at her.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she panicked.
'Fuck. Not again.'
Tori looked behind her to see an army of ladies angrily walking towards them. "What the fuck, run Irene!"
Irene groaned, thankfully... She felt a lot less dizzy. "Aish... Damn him."
This was her life.
Sometimes, even when Nelson was nice to her, he was punishing her. Because, there was always a trail of ladies ready to defend him.
If she accepted his kindness she was wrong, if she threw the bottle on the floor she would be wrong, she was always wrong.
And him... Always right.
