Chapter 27

**Daisy's POV**

"It's okay Angel, open your eyes, no one here is going to hurt you. Never again" I hear a soothing voice say and I suddenly open my eyes to see Hunter.

"Hunter, I'm bleeding" I say sitting up on the comfortable bed in a strange room. When I look down at my stomach though, I see no blood.

"What's going on?" I say holding my head to calm the pounding.

"Did Lily make it home safe? Wait, what happened to you? Why do you look old?" I say after looking at him more closely.

He looked like someone in his late twenties.

Hunter's worried gaze is the only thing I see before everything goes dark once more.

*****************

"She doesn't seem to remember the latter part of her life after the incident, Dr. Keller" I hear Hunter utter in a muffled voice.

"Let her rest some more, it'll all come back" I hear a female voice respond before I fall back into a dreamless sleep.

***************

For the umpteenth time, I open my eyes again and notice that it was already dark outside. The room was illuminated by the soft moonlight peeking through the open window.

I look down to see myself in a huge shirt that I'm sure definitely does not belong to me.

The series of event before losing consciousness suddenly comes back to me and I gasp.

I am Daisy!

I've been Daisy all along!

How have I been so close to my family and friends but was still unable to remember.

Oh my God, Dad! I need to see my Dad.

But why did mom and Dad...I mean Mr and Mrs Griffin call me their daughter? Why didn't they say anything?

And Hunter! He never gave up on me.

I look around the room and my heart starts pounding when I see him watching me carefully from the sofa.

With shaky legs, I stand up and walk to him. When I get to him, he pulls me down to sit on his laps.

"Hey Daisy" He says with his eyes reflecting the moon light.

"Hey, you idiot" I say my voice wobbling before tears break free from my eyes and I start sobbing uncontrollably.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I ask as he touches his forehead to mine.

"It wouldn't have made any difference, You didn't remember a thing. God, I missed you so much" he says as a tear slips from his eye. I raise up one hand to wipe it away.

"When Levi took me, I thought I'd never see you again. and do you know what my last wish was? I wished I could kiss you one last time" I mutter with more tears falling from my eyes triggered by his own and the way his hands continued to shake like he couldn't believe I was really here.

"Well, you can kiss me now" he says just before he crushes his lips to mine.

The kiss was slow and it felt like we were trying to put all our current emotions into it. He moves one of my legs over his thighs so that i'm straddling him and deepens the kiss by pulling me impossibly closer.

"I'm so glad you remember me" he whispers as he breaks away.

"I'm so glad you never gave up on me after so many years." I mutter.

"How could I? I've told you in the past, you're it for me. It's either you or no one else. I'll never ever let you go again. Living without you was torture and the only thing that made me feel like waking up every morning was the hope that you were still out there somewhere. I'm so grateful for whatever string fate pulled that made you come back to me" he rushes out in a breath.

"You know the funny thing? I had already started liking you all over even without my memories" I say smiling making him grin.

"What can I say? When you've got the charm, you've got the charm" he says cockily and I roll my eyes laughing.

"I can't believe I used to call you Mr. Stone" I say and he grins wider.

"I kinda liked it. It helped to put several dirty thoughts in my head" he says and I smack his shoulder while I laugh.

"Pervert"

"A pervert in Love" he corrects and my heart skips a beat.

"I love you Daisy" he says smiling softly.

"I love you too Hunter" I respond as my hands go around his neck as he stands up and carries me to the bed.

His lips capture mine and soon enough, his tongue enters my mouth.

I use my legs that are around him to pull him closer. His hand move from my thigh to my waist to pull me up to him as I tighten my hand around his neck.

His hand then leaves there after a few seconds and dives into my hair.

"Mine" he mumbles against my lips before pulling away.

"It's late, we should go to bed" he says smiling down at me.

"But I just woke up" I whine as he settles down beside me.

"Okay then, let me catch you up with things you're curious about. Ask any question you want" he says holding up his head with one hand so he could look at me and I mirror his position turning my body to face his.

"What's wrong with Dad? Does he know I have my memories back yet? Does he even know I'm his real daughter?" I question feeling so bad that he had been alone all these years.

"Well, when he found out you died, he got a heart attack and it has happened a few more time after that. No, he doesn't know you have your memories back yet, no one does. He doesn't even really know you're Daisy because I didn't want to raise his hopes up." he answers and I sigh sadly.

"I need to see him as soon as possible" I mutter

"In fact, I need to see mom and dad; I mean the ones who raised me after the accident, all my friends and oh my God Keesha! She'll be so worried" I blurt out.

"I've already called her earlier. I told her you were with me and would not be coming home tonight. And apart from a few threats about keeping my balls where they belonged, she seemed pretty calm" he says chuckling at Keesha's antics.

"Okay, what about Eve? What happened after I blacked out?" I ask and his eyes harden.

"Don't worry about that for now, come on, let's get some rest" he states laying down and pulling me into his chest.

The abrupt way he changed the topic makes something uncomfortable settling in the pit of my stomach.

What isn't he telling me?
