Chapter 25
**Esmeralda's POV**
The camp served as a vacation I didn't even know I needed. We spent two more days there after the day Hunter asked me out and I felt really sad when I had to say goodbye to Hunter's friends who I can now boldly call my friends.
Although Blake and I got off on the wrong foot on my first day at work, this camp made me realize he was actually a very nice person. Fun to be with too.
I also learnt that he was going through a messy divorce and a custody war with his ex-wife who he referred to as the reincarnation of the devil.
Blake and Bloom remained polite to each other throughout but nothing more.
I got closer to Lily, Chloe and Bloom on the third day when men and ladies spent their days apart.
It was so easy to feel like I had known them for a long time and they treated me as such.
When we met for lunch with the guys, Hunter kept throwing me silly winks and kisses across the table and I couldn't stop giggling.
I as a person don't giggle so I don't know what the hell he's doing to me.
Daniel was pretty much the funniest one and I laughed till my stomach hurt at his stories.
Dean, Mark and Tyler were as awesome as Blake. Chloe certainly seems to agree with the Tyler part.
No one missed the fact that they always snuck off together and were always staring at each other.
When we teased her about it on our little girl's day out, she said that it was nothing serious and that they were just fooling around but I noticed how Tyler looked at her when she wasn't looking. It was a look filled with adoration and that definitely didn't look unserious to me.
Kyle was a goofy guy and he and I really hit it off. Hunter seemed to dislike him though. I also kept feeling like I was forgetting something anytime I talked to Kyle.
Blake started talking to a female camper on the third day and I don't know if it was because he was really interested in her or because he was jealous but whatever the reason was, Bloom didn't look too pleased. Not that she let it show; just a few sideway glances that I occasionally caught and annoyed huffs.
Blake also made plans with the Amy; the female camper after camp which I'm sure annoyed Bloom judging from the "that stupid player" she muttered under her breath.
Pretty sure almost everyone heard her though.
Fury is the perfect definition of 'don't judge a book by it's cover' because he turned out to be a genuinely warm and funny guy. He and Bloom kept signing autographs and taking selfies with campers till we left camp. Everyone liked him except Blake.
All in all, I had a great time and made new friends which was very rare for me.
When I got back to my apartment, I found myself missing them all especially Hunter.
I spent that night at Keesha's place because I've missed her and went to work from there since the following day was Monday.
Hunter didn't show up to work that day because he had series of meetings around town while I had to stay back in the office and catch up with piled up work.
Throughout that day, I felt nervous and excited for our date the next day.
On Tuesday, all Hunter and I talked about in the office was work related since we still had a lot of tasks to finish. The only time he
spoke personally to me was when I was leaving work and he called me into his office.
"Pick you up at eight?" He asked with his addictive forehead kiss.
"Yeah, eight"
Which brings us to this moment.
"I have nothing to wear!" I scream at Keesha who is currently checking through my clothes.
"That's it, i'm not going" I say flopping on my bed and covering my face with a pillow.
"If not for the fact that time is running out, I would have loved to record you acting like this for my future amusement"
"Shut up" I groan into the pillow.
"What do you think of this one?" She says and I raise my head to see her holding up a black dress.
"I bought it for a funeral besides it's way too casual" I say covering my face again with a pillow.
How did I suddenly transform to a teenage girl overnight?
"A funeral? Where is that green dress you bought three months ago?" She asks distractedly searching through my clothes.
"A friend's pet lizard's funeral. Don't ask. And no, i will not wear that dress either"
"Why not? It's perfect and..... ooohhh I forgot you had this dress. This is the one!" She says holding up a pretty black gown.
"Keesha, you're a genius, thank you, thank you, I love you" I spring up from my bed to hug her and she laughs.
"Get off me and start dressing, Prince charming will soon be here"
I put on the dress and thankfully it still fits. Keesha helps me with my makeup and hair. I finish the look with a red purse and red heels.
"How do I look?" I ask turning away from the mirror to face Keesha.
"You look great. It's so nice to see you this happy Esme. For your sake and his. I hope he doesn't hurt you" she says smiling warmly making me smile back.
Just then the doorbell rings and Keesha hurries to go get it while I fumble with my dress trying to look perfect.
I start to walk towards the living room strongly resisting the urge to run back inside and lock myself in.
When I look up, the look on Hunter's face makes my nervousness melt away.
"Hey" I say when I get to where he's standing.
Although i'm a tall woman, i'm no where near as tall as Hunter even with heels on.
"You look gorgeous" he says extending his hand for me to hold.
"Bye kids, don't do what I wouldn't do. And if you happen to find a spare boyfriend on the way, please bring him back for me" Keesha yells after us as we walk to the car making us laugh.
Despite Keesha always complaining about being alone. I knew she loved being single. She didn't hate love or anything but till she found someone that was worth it, she was content being alone.
Hunter brought his grey maserati so the drive to the restaurant was short and filled with me guessing what restaurant he chose.
I was surprised when he pulled over in front of a little restaurant that just opened last year. It had been the talk of the city and only celebrities and rich people got to eat there because it was hard to get a reservation.
The restaurant's selling point is that it offered complete privacy to all it's diners while maintaining class.
Expensive looking curtains surrounded each table while still leaving enough space so you feel cozy and not suffocated.
You could ask for ask for your table to be decorated to your taste when making reservations.
"This place looks amazing!" I gush as we're led to a table.
Hunter pulls back the curtain for me to pass and then pulls back my chair for me.
We're handed the menu and poured water as the man informs us that our personal waitress will soon attend to us.
"I heard the food here is the best!" I exclaim.
"I've heard the same. I'm not sure though because I've never been here before" he responds looking at his menu making me do the same.
I hear the curtain shift and I assume it's the waitress.
"Have you decided on what you'll...." The waitress suddenly goes silent and I look up from the menu to see Hunter staring in shock at her.
I turn my head to see who it is and my heart starts beating fast for unknown reasons. Suddenly, a migraine sets in and I start breathing fast to get air in my lungs.
I know her. Who is she? Where do I know her from? She looks so familiar.
Random thoughts start to race around in my head and suddenly memories starts to rush back in.
'Here's a little engagement gift for you Daisy'
'Let me tell you a story'
'Goodbye messages'
'I love you so damn much Daisy'
'Be mine'

"Eve" Hunter mutters coldly and when he notices what's going on with me, he rushes to my side.
"Shit Esmeralda, are you okay? Come on Breathe Angel" Hunter says panic evident on his face.
"I'm not Esmeralda.....Oh my God, I'm not Esmeralda... I'm Daisy" I murmur and that's the last thing i'm able to say before everything goes dark.
