We stopped walking and my eyes locked with Indy’s anger-filled sky blue eyes. “You! Did you ask them to be this rude to me?” She barked and stormed towards me. “You definitely didn’t listen to me last time because I was nice. Now I’m gonna be crazy about what I want.”

A security man wanted to hold her back but I raised a hand to stop him.

“What do you mean? Why are you here?” I tried to sound nice, wearing a tired smile.

“Are you being serious right now?” She scoffed. “I guess I was being way too patient with you last time.” Her voice was a bit loud and drawing attention.

“Let’s have a seat and speak like adults, Indy.” My tiredness was making me even calmer than normal. I sat on one of the chairs around a table and she reluctantly sat on the chair opposite mine.

“Get us a drink.” I said to  a waiter who nodded and took his leave.

She scoffed, folding her arms across her chest while staring around.

I was waiting for her to say something but she didn’t till the waiter returned with two glasses of mixed berry juices.

“Thank you.” I said to him, accepting my glass and he took his leave.

After taking a sip from her glass, she shut her eyes and exhaled deeply to placate herself.

“Great! Now can you speak like a proper adult.” I forced a smile at her.

She raised her gaze to me, the corner of her lips quirking upwards to a simper. “Back to the topic of repossessing my possession— I was in shock from your betrayal.’” She said and I snickered, causing a frown to appear on her face which she washed off with a sigh. “It isn’t funny at all. I don’t know if you probably don’t know me or you’ve forgotten me after the distance in our friendship, but I’m here to remind you that Indy Ricardo never gives up on anything. When she says she wants something, she has to get it.”

“Indy… are you even listening to yourself?” I feigned sweetness.

“You may see this as a joke and laugh about it but I’m being dead serious. When I always wanted something from Dad, I got it. When I wanted Ian, I got him. When I wanted Tristan, I had him. When I didn’t want Tristan, I gave him out. Now I want him back, I'll get him back.”

“Are you joking or you just have a retarded brain? What don’t you understand by the fact that you can’t have Tristan?  He’s disgusted by even the mention of your name. Plus, we’re happy together and are happily married. I wouldn’t just watch and let some third party ruin my marriage.”

Her face became hot red and her lower lip was drawn between her teeth. “Really?” She asked with gritted teeth. “You still won’t heed to my warning? The only reason it may seem like Tristan is disgusted by me is because he thinks I betrayed him. That’s something I can easily solve. All you just have to do is get. The. Fuck. Out. Of. My. Way.”

“Are you crazy?” I was trying my best to keep my cool, taking a sip of my juice to flush my annoyance away.

“Crazy?” she sniggered. “I’m out of my mind.”

“It’s obvious. I’m still in awe that this conversation is reality. It feels like fiction or a damn comedy, because who on earth returns after forever for their Ex? Especially when he’s happily married? I’m trying to be nice to you, Indy sweetie. Just return to your senses before you run out of control.”

“Happily married?” she threw her head back to laugh. “You realize you’re not the first person Tristan has been in a relationship with, right? Yet he always returned to me after his relationship with any of them ended. Do you know why?” She drew her gaze closer, her smirk becoming more devious. “I’ve been the reason for his past relationships being destroyed, including but not limited to his last ex-girlfriend, Lucy.”

I opened my mouth, unable to find the perfect word to respond to that with.

“I’ve either twisted their dumb brains against Tristan or framed them. I always ensured I ruined his past relationships, making him think he was never lucky in love. Do you know why? I wanted to have him all to myself to fulfill my greedy fantasies.” She stared around, returning her eyes to my widened ones. “I could either try to twist your head or frame you. You might’ve thought I was just a sweet person but the terrible actions I’ve performed and the evil thoughts reeling in my head can make a person go into a permanent state of shock.

“Your relationship with Tristan seems to be the strongest of all, but none of Tristan’s relationships can ever be strong enough for me. I can frame you or discover your deepest darkest and most feared secrets and portray it to Tristan in the most derogatory way.”

“Wow, Indy. I can’t believe I was friends with such a devil in disguise.”

“A devil in an Angel’s garment would be the perfect description of who I truly am.” Her eyes were more filled with that deadly sinister stare. “If you still prove to be hard to handle, you’re nothing I won’t be able to control. I wouldn’t waste the time to eliminate you without leaving any trace behind.” Her stupid smirk didn’t leave her lips one second.

The malefic tone she spoke with made a shiver run down my spine.

“Yeah, you heard me right. With the determination  and external support I have, you’re just a piece of cake to eliminate, so make your choice wisely.” She rose to her feet, grabbed her purse and took a gulp of the remnant of her juice before taking her leave.

I was still glued to my seat while Indy’s words replayed in my head over and over again. How did Indy turn out to be like this? This was definitely not the same person I called my best friend.

I was still in shock from Indy’s conversation. I hadn't even realized I ignored Nikita’s fixed gaze on me when I had walked in until now.

I dropped my bag on the nightstand, stripped my clothes off my body and settled in the bathtub, hoping to clear every memory of it from my head. She was simply joking. She couldn’t harm me; I tried to assure myself.

The warm water against my skin did a great job in calming me down.

I got out of the bathtub and settled in a comfy nightdress when my phone rang from my bag.

I was reluctant about answering it at the possibility of it being Aunt Mandy asking for money or some other mysterious text I wasn’t interested in reading. I gave in to my curiosity and read the message.

It was a message from a new number:

< >

“What the heck?!” I screamed in frustration, tossing the phone to the bed and dug my fingers into my hair. “This is so fucking frustrating! Why are all my problems suddenly coming back to me at the same time? How will I be able to deal with this?”

What if Indy used these to her advantage? I had to let Tristan know everything really soon, whether or not it cost my life.

My brain was extremely stressed from these problems surrounding it and forced me to go to bed.
