'A person in two months can make you feel what a person in two years couldn't! Time means nothing, character does!'
..............................................
"Oh my god!! Ouch, it hurts!!", cries Kathleen in pain, when the doctor tried to examine her broken hand with the cast. She broke her hand few months back due to a particular incident that changed her life and her lifestyle.
"Hey, kathleen! Relax, I think it has to be nothing but a sprain in the wrist, that happened when you tried to balance your body with the right hand when you fell onto the ground!", said the lady in her mid 40's.
She blinks and let out of breath as she heard the doctor saying the term sprain. She can't go through the same thing again. Having a cast for a long time is something that none likes.
Janice and Laura took Kathleen to the clinic present inside their university campus. Dr. Patricia Miller takes care of the students who fall sick within the university. Every single student who falls sick will be treated only in that clinic.
The university has a clinic within the campus which treats students with any type of illness and they didn't have the enough facilities at certain times, they themselves could take the students to the nearest hospital.
"But doctor, is my hand alright? Or it's fractured again?", kathleen asked the doctor, nervously touching her cast. Her hand ached like it was broken again. She really wished the pain in the hand, not to be fracture again.
"Let's find out! Place your hand on the table, please", Dr. Patricia removes her cast and frees her hand. Her right hand looked healthy and great, but a little dirty due to the cast has covered her hand for a long time.
"Try to move your hand up", commands the doctor and Kathleen follows her lead. She does as the doctor says. Kathleen finds her hand workable but still her wrist hurts when she rotates her hand. Though that was a bearable pain nothing like intense pain.
"Yes, as I said earlier, there is a pain in the wrist due to the sprain and your right hand is completely alright! No more cast for the healthy hand!", assured Dr. Patricia and wrote few prescriptions on a white paper.
"Take these pain killers before sleep and apply this gel on your wrist and you will be alright by morning!", the doctor gave her a warm smile. She smiled back weakly. She looked down at the prescription.
The nurses present in the clinic cleaned her wounds on the forehead and the lips. A small plaster was put on her forehead to close the wound. It was a deep cut though. She flinched every single time when they tried to clean the wound by applying some antiseptic cream to the deep cuts.
Kathleen walked out of the clinic and finds Janice and Laura waiting for her. They brought her to the clinic when she denied it was nothing but cried in pain.
"Hey, girls!", Kathleen walked towards them waving her left hand. They looked at her in shock. They were astonished to find that Kathleen has got rid of her cast but they couldn't understand how.
"Am I dreaming or something", claimed Janice rubbing her beady brown eyes. She thought that the arm might have gotten more worse than already how it was earlier.
Kathleen smiled at her actions. "Yeah, finally got rid of it!! But acquired a sprain in the wrist", showed them her right hand. She was furious at Rachel and her friends for doing this to her.
"So, you are fine?!? But what's with the plaster on your head??", enquired Laura examining her forehead. "Will it leave a scar?", she questioned. Kathleen gestured a no. Maybe it would who knew.
"If she gets a scar, she will turn out to the female version of Harry Potter since she and harry share the same traits", teased Janice for which Laura laughs hard. Kathleen laughs hard as well.
"But jokes apart, those girls have no right to hurt you, kath", insisted Janice who was indignant at the girl's behavior towards Kathleen.
Laura and Janice, both were enraged on Doris, Rachel and Melissa. Kathleen was raging with fury as well. She never wanted to hurt anyone anymore. So she suppressed her anger.
"They should definitely pay for this. We will make them pay for this", Laura said furiously.
"Today they hurt me, tomorrow it's gonna be another girl and I'm not going to allow this to happen", said Kathleen.
They together walked towards the dormitory talking about the incident and the way each one felt when Kathleen feel onto the ground.
......................
The next morning was bright and breezy. Kathleen found her right hand was cured and she no longer had the pain or the strain.
"So, what's your first class for the day , kath?", questioned Laura combing her straight hair.
"I think it's going to be design arts and graphics engineering", shrugged Kathleen. Kathleen tied her hair into a ponytail which revealed the plaster on her forehead better.
"I'm leaving for the class !! Catch you all at lunch", Janice waved them bye and left in a hurry. Laura followed her lead, she left before kathleen. Kathleen was the last one to leave the dormitory. She walked towards h??r classroom. She comes across Noah in the way.
"Hey, kath!!", beamed Noah, kathleen couldn't stop the smile that she gets on seeing Noah's happy smiling face.
"Noah, no classes for the morning??", questions Kathleen walking fast towards her classroom. Noah walks beside her.
"No, I'm on my way to the library!! And what happened to your cast?? Hold on, what's the plaster on your forehead!! Are you alright??", questioned Noah in a soft spoken voice. She could see the way he care for her.
"Relax Noah, I'm fine. Will narrate the whole story behind the plastered forehead during lunch hour. Now, I'm in a rush!! Catch you up later", she marched faster leaving Noah behind. He stood there looking confused.
...........................
The morning classes came to an end and it's time to have lunch. Kathleen texted her friends that she has left the classroom and she was on her way to Cafeteria.
JAY :
On my way!!! Catch you guys soon!!....
LAURA :
Sorry caught up with a small work. Will be there in 10!!
ME :
Fine! fine ! . I'll wait.
Kathleen walked towards the Cafeteria and finds Noah sitting on a stone bench outside the Cafeteria. She runs towards him beaming a hi.
"So, tell me?? What happened?", questioned Noah the moment he saw her.
"Hey, man!? Seriously?? Not even a hi ? Have you been thinking of this one question for the past few hours", joked Kathleen while Noah glared at her. They together entered the Cafeteria.
Just before she could narrate the incident, she witnesses Doris, Melissa and Rachel at the right corner of the Cafeteria along with EJ, Zach and few others. On seeing them, kathleen got exasperated and couldn't control her fuming anger.
"You know what, I'll be back", said Kathleen and marched towards the girls. Students in the Cafeteria watched Kathleen curiously.
She stood in front of Rachel and her friends. On seeing her, Rachel and all the people around the table looked at her direction.
"What?", Rachel questioned Kathleen. Kath smirked at her and out of the blue, kathleen gave Rachel a tight slap with the same right hand they tried to damage. Doris, Melissa and all the people around her including EJ was astonished and her action hit them like a thunderbolt. Rachel's eyes poured few tears out.
The whole Cafeteria gasped in shock.
"You deserve this bitch. And one more time, you mess up with me, I'll show you what I'm capable off. Because you'll never know how bad I used to be", threatened Kathleen and walked away from them.
Noah stood there in a frosted state. He didn't respond to her or walk beside her.
She grabs Noah's hand and they walk out of the Cafeteria where they find Janice and Laura standing froze and numb. They couldn't utter a word due to shock.
"OMG, WAS THAT YOU, REALLY ? I COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EYES. NEVER KNEW YOU COULD SOMETHING LIKE THIS", yelled Janice in surprise. Laura could barely believe her eyes. She adjust her spectacle and blinked? few times. Noah was still in shock.
"Guys, come on, we knew they deserve something like this and what's there to be surprised!!", declared Kathleen. Kathleen always wished she doesn't hurt anyone on purpose since she has a done a lot in the past. But Rachel and her friends were making her lose her cool.
"Yes, of course, they deserve this!! But I never knew you could do something like this?", said Laura, speaking after a long time of shock.
"Cause, darling, I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream", kathleen winks.
