"One of the most courageous things a person can do is walk away from a situation that is no longer meant for them, no matter how much they wish it was"!

"Hey EJ, what took you so long man? Any kind of tiff between you and barbie!", smirked Robert.
EJ arrived home late and his mate turned suspicious towards EJ'S actions. Robert found the relationship between EJ and Kathleen, a bit fishy. Because is not the person who would let a girl be a part of his home.
"Dude my car broke. And yeah, to tiff with Kath is my favorite hobby u know", winked EJ. Robert rolled his eyes at the comment.
"Do remember that she is mad but she is magic", he quoted making EJ smirk at his statement.
"Then I had to say she is black magic", he laughed out loud. Robert throw a frown at him. But EJ got this feeling that Robert had a thing towards Kathleen but brushed away the thought as he never wanted to involve into Robert's stuffs and he will never will.
"So, I can hear PS screaming our names. Ready for another.... ??!", EJ walked towards the Playstation and began his game.
"'Always ", expressed Robert with a million-dollar smile. Robert made it obvious that he had a thing for Kathleen but he doesn't say it aloud.
Robert wanted EJ to find it on his own, like Robert always understand his friend in the absence of words.
............
A pair of glistened eyes witnessed the two friends getting faded from her sight. This was more for her to hold and so she let her break in the solace of solitude in her world, in her little world.
'Kath......! Kath......!..ufffoo.... yelled? Laura, and shook Kath to break her trance. Kath blinked in response to this external stimulus.
'Where is this little mind roaming,
questioned Laura with a smile.
'May be around a contagious smile , chuckled Janice yearning a deathly glare from Kathleen. This made the duo chuckle more and end with a hi-fi. But Kathleen remained silent for a reason, she was having a battle between her mind and her heart. Kathleen thought about the past that she never wished to look back.
"Come on babs!! What's troubling you? You seem spaced out!", asked Janice with concern written all over her face.
"No Jay, it's just... I remember old times.. you know past always haunts us. They say that Make peace with your past so it doesn't spoil your present! I hope it's right", signed Kathleen, rubbing her temple.
"Kath, sometimes the worst place you can be is your own mind! So just relax", spoke Janice with a smile.
Kathleen felt blissful for having found Laura and Janice as her best friends. They are the friends who didn't bother about her past and not even tried to ask what her past looked like.
"I think I am drained. Good night roomies" said Laura and covered herself with the light blue duvet and Janice dozed off soon too.
Kath made her way to the little jean bag which held her bundle of memories.,
her DIARY. She made herself comfortable and settled in her study table with the cute little bundle of sheets that exist as sole proof for her joy, happiness, sorrow, dark shade and memories.
Kathleen took her diary and a pen, her mind blanked out when she tried to fill up her diary. Then she writes:
"I am not who I was!!". She remembered writing this line right after she got her hand fractured and went through a lot of trauma.
Then she remembered an incident from her high school days. The one's that she always wanted to erase from her memory. The memories which proves that Kathleen was a complete bitch back those days.
Few years back.....
Kathleen and her friends, a group of 8 people which includes 5 boys and 3 girls were busy chatting in the Cafeteria. It was their lunch hour of the day and students from all grades have lunch at the same time.
When Kathleen stood up from the table and moved forward, she was dashed by a girl from the 8 th grade. And the food spills onto Kathleen's shirt. This made Kathleen furious filled with rage.
The girl froze when she realized that she hit Kathleen, a ranting dangerous bully of the high school. She didn't do it on purpose and the girl's blue eyes teared up with Kathleen glared at her.
"Sorry-y, I was carele-s-s and it just slipped out of my-y hand-d", the girl stammered through her tears. She looked pity but Kathleen showed no mercy.
"What-t? Careles-s?? What han-d", kathleen mocked at her. The girl wipes away her tears but the tears flow like a river escaping a dam. Anyone who witnessed this scene would let her go because the girl pleaded saying she was sorry and didn't mean to do this on purpose.
"No no, just you can't fool me with those crocodile tears", grunted Kathleen pushing the little girl onto the floor. And she poured the remainings from the plate onto the girl's head and walked away throwing the plate on her. A wicked smile was plastered on her face and the whole Cafeteria witnessed these events with a gasp.
Kathleen came back to reality and shook her head to clear the fog that engulfed her mind. She pens down the words, 'By regretting the past nothing can be changed, so just learn from it'. She knew she have changed, she is not the same bully anymore and she will break her truce with her past any cost. But as days goes by she thought that change was better and the best.

"I m done with this Rob. Let's end this and catch up some sleep dude," said EJ and dragged himself to his room. Robert puts down his PS and moves into the other room which he uses, when stayed here.
EJ entered his dark room and went to his study table. He seated himself and sighed. Each passing second was a struggle. He took out a letter that dated back 10 years. He wished he could let it go, but the piece of emotion in his hand had a very different plan. That letter has been haunting him for years and he never knew what it would feel like to erase away the memories and moments spent with a single person. He wished he threw away the letter but he couldn't. He reads it every single day and shed few tears like he was reading it for the first time. Though it has been 10 years, he still felt like the incident took place yesterday, the thing that changed his life forever.
He turned on the lamp (the one gifted by Kath) to drown himself in the letter that witnessed the EJ, the real one behind the flawless facade. Every night he wished maybe the person wouldn't have left him like that, when the person was the world to him.
Meanwhile in Kathleen's room,
Boom!!! The lamp emitted the elegant crimson brightness even before she could reach it. She could help the smile that escaped her lips.
Her mind instantly depicted the smile of EJ along with their past provoking conversation. Kath let her emotions to dwindle with single stream of tear to roll down her cheek and mark her inner turmoil on the fresh white sheet. She decided to pen down the thoughts paved their path to her diary.
Date: xxxxxx
"You are the sea that I drown in,
You are the darkness that engulfed me,
You are the hollow that reminds me of my emptiness
You are the battle that I always lose,
Your presence is my bitter truth
I hate me for this and always will"

Fresh stream of tears made their way to add another sleepless night that remains confidential between Kathleen and her soft purple pillow. EJ will always remind Kathleen of herself for which, she has been hating her for every single thing she did and she wished that the memories that worries her would fade away sooner or later.
And on the other side, EJ places down the letter gently and takes out his art book. He starts to sketch something onto the white empty sheet using his pencil. He drew a picture of a girl. A girl with a red cheeks that matched the color of her tutu dress. He portrayed her eyes perfectly and the real smile that escaped her lips when she felt truly happy.

Wanna know who was the girl from EJ'S picture?? Then stay tuned for updates! Keep reading and feel free to comment anything and it means a lot to me.
