CHAPTER 34: THE MISSION

Roberto Gonzalez our target tonight will be arriving at the venue at exactly twenty hundred hours, approximately at least one hundred and fifty meters from my position to the designated point.

Gonzalez will be accompanied by three to five bodyguards along with his secretary and spokesperson.

Hudson will be with Eleanor on this mission as they rescue those women, my goal tonight is to annihilate the target before he announces his candidacy.

I kept checking my phone as it was vibrating nonstop. Isaac kept on calling, he couldn't track my device since Azul did something with it, so all he could do was call and call until he grew tired.

I grabbed my bag and left that phone on the bedside table. Going down the stairs I can already hear Hudson's irritating voice.

I have already suited up and packed all the necessary things I would need and put them all in this bag.

"Looks like we're all here, should we get going?" Azul said but I didn't move.

"I'd like to travel alone," Hudson just waved his hand and didn't even said goodbye.

Eleanor on the other hand threw one of her daggers and winked before leaving. Azul looked at her and nodded afterward, threw a key and left.

I looked at the key in my hands and ran down the parking to check what he gave me. My eyes widened when I saw a BMW S1000RR. The S1000RR’s 205-horsepower inline-4 engine provides exceptional acceleration throughout the entire power curve, allowing it to find a top speed of one hundred eighty-eight miles per hour.

My mouth curved into a mischievous smile. I didn't waste any second and started the engine and went to my destination.

I park somewhere far but also near an escape route. I was going to walk on my post normally when I saw two unidentified vans parked not far from mine.

No one should have known where this place is unless they are planning something like ours. Who are these people?

I need to be careful, we might not be the only group here tonight.

I tapped my earpiece and informed the others. I heard Azul chuckle and say, "Everything is going according to plan, just stick to what I told you and then you'll see the pieces and put them all together,"

He's speaking weird again, but then again he did say that everything was going according to plan. So does that mean I shouldn't worry about these guys? What if they disrupt the operation and we fail?

I'm not going to let that happen...

I ascended up the tree when I felt a number of people walking straight to my way...

"Fuck," I heard them cussed.

That voice sounds familiar...

"What? She's still not answering. Should I call over the team and start a mass search for your wife?"

Logan?

Then that other man must be—

"No, she's just mad. I'll call her again later let's finish our business early," Isaac.

"Who gets mad for not knocking at the door? HAHAHA! Tell me the truth, you did something other than that am I right?" A flush crept on my face when I heard that Tsk. Logan you dumbass! I'll kill you once I'm done here!

"Brrr! I just felt shivers, did your wife curse at me?"

"Serves you right Tch. Let's go," That was the last thing I heard from Isaac.

But his gaze did not go beyond me as if he knew where I was. I felt this too back then like he already knew where I was but acting like he didn't, the question is why?

"Aizen," I woke up from reverie when I heard Azul's voice.

"Stop spacing out and get to your position," he scolded.

He's right, I don't need that Isaac to cloud my mind right now. I need to execute my mission.

I jumped off the tree and went in the opposite direction where Isaac and his men went. I left no trace until I got to my position.

At this building, I have a wonderful vision of where the target should be shot and a perfect angle too.

Once I finished setting up my sniper rifle I tapped my earpiece and called Hudson.

"How is it on your part?"

"Dang! We're surrounded. It's as if they knew we were coming here at this specific time and place,"

"You have Eleanor, you guys can handle it," I said and ended the call.

But what he said kept bothering me. It wouldn't hurt if I changed Azul's plan right?

I grabbed my gear and switched my location. Left a hidden cam somewhere they wouldn't expect and a recorder too along with a noise sensor so I would know whether someone would really ambush me there.

That is if they really knew our plan according to Hudson. I won't risk this chance and die in the same manner as before. This time I'll catch the culprit and kill my target at the same time.

When I heard the signal from Azul I grabbed my sniper and aimed at the target's direction.

His bodyguards were the first ones to come out of the car, followed by the spokesperson and his secretary. I waited a few more minutes for Roberto Gonzalez to come out but until the car left he was nowhere to be found.

Where is he?!

I was ready to call headquarters when the noise sensor was triggered. I diverted my attention to the nearby building where I should be sniping right now.

Armed men are coming in and searching the room.

"She's not here boss," I heard one of them say.

"Yes sir. We'll leave immediately!" That was the last thing I heard before they all started to disperse out of that place.

I froze in my position when I felt a tip of a gun behind my head. H-How?

"My, My I knew we wouldn't be able to kill you for the second time when that jerk is right there protecting you," Who is he talking about?

"Who are you?" His voice sounded so familiar. When have I heard this voice before?

"Now, don't tell me you forgot about me already?" he asked once again.

And then it hit me, those familiar voices. Is he...
