The bite Kayla had taken stuck in her throat and she began to cough, as she gave Xavier a dead stare.

Xavier handed her a glass of water and allowed her to calm down.

After some minutes, Kayla gathered herself together.

" What do you mean?" Kayla was taken aback.

" Okay let me rephrase that, will you marry me?" Xavier asked again.

"Okay that's it I'm out of this place" Kayla said as she stood up.

"Hear me out, I know about your father's condition" Xavier said, "I also know about your sister's divorce and your the whole financial situation you are in"

This made Kayla retreat as she looked at Xavier who signaled her to sit back.

Xavier then pulled out a manilla envelope and passed it to Kayla.

Kayla opened the envelope and she brought out the papers that were inside.

Kayla read the papers and it was a marriage contract, according to the papers she is to play as Mr Xavier woods wife for three years and this came with a lot of benefits.

As Kayla was going through the papers, different thoughts were spiralling through her mind, the offer was huge and tempting but she couldn't just marry a stranger or could she..

Kayla scanned through papers again as she gave Xavier a stern look but he remained neutral.

" Why me? Why would you want to marry me? And why for three years" Kayla asked.

"Because I want to," Xavier asked in return.

"Why would I marry a total stranger who appeared out of nowhere and investigated me?" Kayla asked again.

" The money you will get in the long run will help with your father's Medical bills, working at the bar alone won't be able to cater for you and sister," Xavier replied.

"That's not a valid reason why I should not marry you, I barely even know you and you want me to marry you" Kayla stated.

"You have a phone why not make use of it, and I want to marry you because I'm interested in you, that should be enough reason" Xavier said,

Although Xavier tried to act aloof but he couldn't deny his emotions, he had developed liking towards Kayla and the reason for this marriage was to keep her close to him as well as for his parents, but he was convinced that before three years Kayla may also develop feelings for him In

return.

"I need time Mr Woods.."

"Xavier..call me Xavier…"

"Xavier I need time to decide on this ridiculous offer" Kayla stated.

Xavier chuckled as he sips his wine, "Two days Princess, I need answer from you in two days and it better be positive"

Kayla said nothing in return as she turned to ask the waiter who reappeared into the room a few minutes ago.

"Can I get some of these as takeaway please?"

"Sure miss" the waiter responded as he proceeded to pack the cake and pancakes for Kayla.

Kayla left the room with her takeouts and immediately booked a ride to the hospital.

On the way to the hospital Kayla contemplating on telling Daisy about this proposal but decided not, she felt like guilty about this as she was keeping so many things from Daisy, the incident with Bryan, God she had shivers whenever she thought about Bryan sometimes she wondered if she will be able to see him ever again.

Her ride got to the hospital in no time and she was not in any rush, apparently today was her day off so she was technically free.

As she walked pass the reception she was intercepted by the doctor who had stopped her previously to remind her about the payments

"Miss Kayla, sorry to disturb you again, he started, "well two weeks back one of the doctors in charge suggested a new procedure to be used and the results was quite effective, your sister Daisy actually consented to this and they have been a good improvement on your father's condition"

"But…"

"Yes Miss Kayla, this procedure is really expensive and we cannot give you the time till the end of the month for you to pay up, so please go to the reception and collect the bills" he doctor finally concluded.

Kayla said nothing in return as she walked up to the reception asking for the recent bill and she was shocked when she saw the amount needed,

The hospital was demanding for Three thousand dollars!! even her tips plus salary for a whole year couldn't cover half of that.

Kayla held unto the papers as she thought of what to do, there was no family member that could help them and Fucking Tristan, there was no way she could go back.

There was only one option, either she didn't want to consider it but there was nothing else she could do.

Kayla brought out her phone as she dialed Xavier's number, on the first ring the call was answered.

"Can we still get married today?" Kayla asked softly.

"Of course princess, tell me where you are and I will come meet you," Xavier replied.

Tears streamed down Kayla's eyes, in few hours now she was going to get married for a monetary gain, she had given her body up for the same reason and now she was doing it again, Kayla thought, Kayla cried for a while as she sat outside of the hospital entrance waiting for Xavier, she couldn't go inside to meet Daisy because she didn't want her sister to see her like this.

Kayla convinced herself that this was the only way out, Both she and Daisy were left with nothing after her mom's burial and Kayla was determined to do anything to save her father and at least fix her family again.

She dried up her tears as she sighted a black Corvette approaching the hospital entrance, she was sure it was Xavier so she walked up to the car immediately the car stopped.

Xavier rolled down the window "Let's go get married princess"
