After eating, Jason loaded the dishwasher as Julia and Mateo cleared the table.

“I’m heading out to the training grounds,” Jason said.

“That just leaves us,” Adina smiled. “I think we better wait inside. It’s too cold out there,” she said, nodding towards the door. Winter was close.

“Yes, as part of the pack, you have a right to an apartment in the pack house. When you get settled and get to know the place, you can look for a house if you want. I’m sorry to say that we don’t have any apartment complexes. So, it’s a house or the rent-free apartment in the pack house,” Adina told her as they started walking into the village.

“Rent-free?” Clara sounded taken aback.

“Yes,” Julia nodded.

“They are quite nice. It’s mostly single wolves and newcomers that use them, but as it’s in the pack house, things are quiet, and parties are kept to a minimum,” Julia explained.

They showed her the village. Clara seemed impressed with the setup and told them it would be nice to do most shopping on pack land.

“I thought we rest our legs with a stop at the coffee shop. It’s honestly the best place in the world,” Adina said, and Sean chuckled.

“It really is,” Julia agreed.

As they walked into the coffee shop, they were, as usual, greeted by a happy-looking Andy. Clara was doing what Adina had done the first time she entered. She was trying to look at all the things at once.

“It is. I came here as a know-nothing human, and everyone has been welcoming from day one,” Julia agreed and stood on Clara’s other side, placing her arm around Clara’s waist.

“Thanks. Everyone has been really nice so far. I’m just a little nervous about how they react if they find out I’m, you know,” Clara said.

“Half human?” Sean asked, and Clara nodded.

“Won’t matter; it’s not a big deal in this pack,” Julia said. Everyone else nodded.

“If you want, I can bring it up to the pack, so everyone knows immediately,” Colin offered.

“Yeah, I would rather have it out there,” Clara nodded.

“Good on you,” Adina smiled.

Mateo walked into the kitchen, and Julia smiled and walked over to him. Adina was just about to introduce Clara to the beta when she felt Clara go stiff and look towards the door. Adina followed her gaze and saw Jason standing there with a look of complete shock on his face. Behind him, Johnny was about to walk into the kitchen.

Adina quickly let go of Clara and stepped over to her mates, nudging them to make them aware of what was happening. They looked at her and then at what she was looking at. A smirk appeared on both their faces.

The tenderness of the gesture made Adina tear up, and she saw Julia wipe away a tear as well. Colin kissed Adina’s hair and Sean on her cheek. Johnny looked on in fascination. Adina thought it would be good for him to see a true mate claiming.  

Clara looked at Jason in confusion, like she had difficulty believing he was okay with her being his mate.

As much as Adina would love to stay where she was, watching every minute of the claiming. She also knew the two of them were better off somewhere private, where the risk of other wolves randomly walking in wasn’t as great.

“Congratulation to the both of you,” she said gently, with a big smile.

“Jason, why don’t you take Clara to your apartment, and you can talk. Clara, if there is anything you need, let Jason know, and he will mind link either Julia or me. You are perfectly safe with him,” Adina then said.

“That’s a good idea, thank you, Adina,” Jason said, without taking his eyes from his mate. Clara just nodded.

As they left the kitchen, Adina smiled at Colin.

“Told you she was important to the pack,” she said.

“Yes, you did,” he chuckled and kissed her.

“Did you see how gentle he was?” Julia cooed.

‘Sean, can you talk to Johnny about what he just saw?’ Adina mind linked Sean.

‘Sure, sweetheart,’ he agreed and kissed her before walking over to Johnny and took him to sit down somewhere quiet.

“Where is he going?” Colin asked.

“To talk to Johnny about claiming,” Adina smiled. “I would have asked you, but you have an announcement to make to the pack,” she added.

“I do, and it’s not the one I thought I would make,” he laughed and kissed her.
