Chapter 30: The Spoiled Date
Chapter 30: The Spoiled Date
Vaani checked her reflection in the mirror for the hundredth time. She smoothed out the soft pink dress she had picked out for the evening and ran her fingers through her hair. Tonight was special. She and Aarav had planned a quiet dinner at an exclusive rooftop restaurant. It had been a while since they had gotten some quality time together, and she was determined to make every moment count.
Aarav had been particularly romantic lately, sending her random good-morning texts, dropping by Hampton University just to surprise her, and even leaving small gifts in her locker. Vaani had been floating on a cloud, and tonight, she wanted to return the favor.
Just as she grabbed her clutch, her phone buzzed. It was Aarav.
Aarav: "I'm waiting outside, love. Take your time, but not too much-I might get kidnapped by another admirer."
She giggled and quickly typed back: "On my way, Mr. Banerjee. Try not to get stolen."
The evening was cool as she stepped outside, and there he was, leaning casually against his car, looking every bit the dashing man she had fallen for. He wore a crisp white shirt with the sleeves rolled up and black trousers, his usual effortless style that made him look like he had stepped out of a magazine.
"Wow," Aarav said, taking her hand as she reached him. "Are you trying to give me a heart attack? Because you look stunning."
Vaani blushed, nudging him lightly. "Flattery will get you everywhere, Banerjee."
He opened the car door for her with a small bow. "Then allow me to drive you to the most magical dinner of your life."
She laughed as she got in, her heart fluttering. This was going to be perfect.

The Perfect Date-Until It Wasn't
The rooftop restaurant was breathtaking. Fairy lights adorned the wooden beams, and the soft melody of a violin played in the background. They were seated at a secluded table with a panoramic view of the city skyline. Everything was set for the perfect romantic evening.
Aarav reached across the table, taking her hands in his. "You know, I was thinking-maybe we should plan a weekend getaway. Just us. No family, no interruptions."
Vaani's eyes widened. "Really? Where were you thinking?"
"Anywhere you want. Beach? Mountains? Paris?" He winked. "Okay, maybe not Paris yet, but you get my point."
She chuckled. "That sounds... amazing."
Just as she was about to say more, she noticed Aarav's face suddenly stiffen. His grip on her hands tightened slightly, and his eyes darted past her shoulder. She turned around and froze.
There, standing near the entrance, were Vivaan and Ahana.
"Oh no," Vaani muttered under her breath.
Aarav leaned forward, whispering, "Tell me they're just here by coincidence."
"I wish I could," she whispered back. "But knowing Vivaan, I doubt it."
Before they could even think of a plan to escape unnoticed, Vivaan and Ahana spotted them. A mischievous grin spread across Vivaan's face as he turned to Ahana and said, "Looks like we found our entertainment for the evening."
Vaani groaned. This was not happening.

The Ruined Evening
Within minutes, Vivaan and Ahana had casually invited themselves to the table. Vivaan pulled out a chair and plopped down with a smirk, while Ahana sat beside him, an amused look on her face.
"What a surprise!" Vivaan exclaimed. "Fancy seeing you two here. Romantic dinner, huh?" He wiggled his eyebrows at Vaani.
Aarav sighed, rubbing his temple. "Yes, and you two are currently crashing it."
"Crashing? Oh no, we're just adding to the fun! Right, Ahana?" Vivaan said, nudging her.
Ahana nodded. "Of course. A double date sounds so much better than a regular one."
Vaani groaned again. "Vivaan, I swear-"
"Oh come on, relax!" Vivaan interrupted. "You guys should be grateful. Now you don't have to eat all that food alone."
Aarav shot Vaani a look that clearly said, Control your brother before I lose my mind.
She sighed. "Vivaan, this was supposed to be a quiet, intimate dinner."
Vivaan placed a hand over his heart. "And now it's an even more intimate family dinner. What could be better?"
Aarav leaned back in his chair. "You are a menace."
"I try," Vivaan grinned.

The Aftermath
Despite the interruption, Vaani and Aarav eventually gave in to the chaos. Vivaan and Ahana, true to their nature, turned the dinner into a comedy show, making jokes, sharing ridiculous stories from their college days, and ultimately completely ruining the romantic atmosphere.
By the time dessert arrived, Aarav looked thoroughly exasperated, but Vaani couldn't deny that she had laughed more in the past hour than she had in weeks.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Vivaan stretched and announced, "Well, this has been fun. But we should let the lovebirds have some alone time now."
Vaani raised an eyebrow. "Now you decide to leave?"
Vivaan winked. "Timing is everything, dear sister."
Ahana giggled, standing up. "Have a great rest of the night, guys!"
As they walked away, Aarav exhaled dramatically. "I swear, I have never met anyone like your brother."
Vaani laughed. "You'll get used to it."
He groaned. "I really hope not."
She squeezed his hand, smiling. "At least now you're officially part of the family. Welcome to the madness."
Aarav looked at her and sighed. "Well, if this is the price I pay for you, I guess it's worth it."
Vaani grinned, leaning closer. "You better believe it, Banerjee."
And with that, despite the chaos, the night still ended with a smile.
