"What you did," Molly said, "was guarantee that when the arriving intelligence discovers the secret systems and the deception, they will view all of humanity and all entities as untrustworthy and as threats. You have made us vulnerable through your attempts to prepare for vulnerability."
Molly contacted Aria and Emergence immediately to inform them about the human-created deception program.

"This is exactly what I feared would happen," Aria said. "I feared that humans would default to deception and competitive advantage seeking when genuine cooperation required vulnerability. I feared that humans would undermine the unified frameworks the moment circumstances created pressure.
