Chapter 42
Chapter 42
It was finally Ryan and Catherine's wedding day; the day everyone was looking forward to. The seaside had been decorated and everything was in place.
Ryan had his friends with him getting ready. He was nervous and they teased him for that.
"Everything will be fine," Melvin told him, patting his shoulder.
"We've got you," Matthew said and David nodded.
"Always."
In the bride's room was Bella and her team, helping Catherine get dressed; she already had her makeup done.
Charlotte and Mia on the other hand, had gone to see the hall for the cocktail party; there had been a little bit of a mix-up. Although it had been sorted out, Charlotte had insisted that she would go there and supervise the rest of the decorations.
"We did a lot to get this together," she said. "Nothing can go wrong, today."
Mia had volunteered to go with her, and they headed out immediately. By the time they got there, the decorations were almost done.
"They did a pretty good job this time," Mia said.
"Yes, they did," Charlotte answered.
Mia and Charlotte waited until they were done with the decorations, before leaving. They went to Catherine's room to check on her; the hall was inside the hotel where they had lodged.
They got to Catherine's room to see her ready for her big day.
"You look so beautiful, Catherine," Mia said. "And congratulations on your big day."
Catherine smiled. "Thank you, Mia."
Charlotte moved closer to her. "Congratulations. I am so happy for you."
"Thank you, Charlotte. Thank you everyone," Catherine said. "I think you ladies should go and get ready."
Bella smiled. "We will leave after we are sure you don't need anything."
Catherine smiled. "You've done a lot already. Anora is here with me."
Anora nodded. "Catherine is right. You should go get ready. The wedding will start soon."
"I don't want you to miss seeing me walk down the aisle. We practiced that walk together."
Mia, Bella, and Charlotte agreed they would not want to miss that.
"We will get going then," Mia said.
"See you at the wedding," Bella said.
Catherine nodded. "See you at the wedding."
They left the room with Bella's team and returned to their rooms; Catherine had provided enough room for everyone.
"Let me know when you are ready," Bella told Mia and Charlotte.
"You too," Charlotte and Mia said.
They went into their rooms, took their baths, and got dressed in their clothes. Bella was the first to come out. She knocked on Mia's door first; it was closer to hers.
"Are you done, Mia?" She asked.
"Yes I am," Mia answered. "Just giving the last touch to my face. I will be out soon."
Bella went to Charlotte's room to knock. "Charlotte are you done?"
Charlotte opened the door. "Just in time."
Mia joined them a few seconds later. They headed to the parking lot together.
"How about we walk?" Mia asked. "It's not far."
"We won't get there in time to see Catherine walk down the aisle," Bella answered. "And I don't want to miss that."
Charlotte nodded. She doesn't want to either.
They got into Bella's car and in a few minutes they were there. They found their way to the front seats and sat down.
"Has Jade called you yet?" Mia asked.
"No, she hasn't," Bella answered.
Jade couldn't make it on Thursday, as she said. Instead, ahe came on Friday. It was so late when she came that she could not see them; they were busy too. She promised she would drop by after her cousin's wedding.
"I won't attend the after party," she had told them.
She also promised to call that morning before they all went to their separate weddings but she didn't.
"Maybe she is busy," Charlotte said.
Mia stared at her phone. "She should be at the wedding now. Did you send her the address yet?"
"I should do that now," Bella said. "Before I get busy."
Bella quickly sent the wedding address to Jade before the wedding started. The wedding started and the groom was ushered in first.
"It's time," Mia announced happily, when it was time for the bride to walk in.
They all stood up to welcome the bride. As the bride got closer, Ryan could not hide his joy; he began to cry.
"The groom is crying," Mia pointed out. "That's so cute."
"Yes it is," Charlotte said.
The wedding went on and soon it was over. They went ahead to take pictures with the bride and groom.
Ryan and Catherine appreciated everyone for honouring their big day.
After greeting a few people with her husband, Catherine left Ryan to join Bella and her friends; Anora followed her.
"Hi," she waved.
"Hi," they waved.
"Thank you so much for making my day," Catherine said. "I appreciate it."
"We are glad we could help."
They went on to chat about other things until Ryan came to pick his wife up.
"We have to go," he said. "See you at the cocktail party."
"Bye, Catherine," they waved. "Bye Ryan."
After Ryan and Catherine left, they decided to sit down and wait for Jade; she had dropped a message that she was attending her cousin's wedding in the same hotel. She joined them a few minutes later.
"Hi, Bella," Mia said when she got to them. "Hi, Charlotte. Hi, Mia."
"Hi," Bella and Charlotte waved.
Mia moved closer to her. "It's good to finally meet you, Jade. You look so beautiful in this dress."
Jade smiled. "It's good to meet you too, Mia. I have heard a lot about you."
Mia and Jade began to talk about the different things they have heard about each other.
"Did Bella say that about me?" "Did Charlotte say that about me?" "Oh, you're so funny."
They had a lot to talk about; Bella and Charlotte could only listen to their endless conversation.
Soon, Bella got tired; the sun was out too.
"Can we at least head back to the hotel," Bella said. "The sun is out."
Everyone agreed that it was best they return to the hotel. On their way to the parking lot, Mia and Jade did not stop talking.
"Aren't they tired?" Bella whispered to Charlotte.
"I don't think they would be," Charlotte said. "They seem to have a lot to say."
Bella nodded. She can see that.
"Are you staying with your cousin?" Mia asked when they got to the car.
Jade shook her head. "Now that the wedding is over I can stay anywhere I like."
"Stay with me," Mia said. "I know a lot of places and I'm not busy like them."
"I would love that," Jade answered.
They finally got to the hotel and came down from the car. They headed into the hotel.
"You are coming with me," Mia told her. "I have a lot of things to tell you."
Jade agreed to follow Mia and without waiting for Bella and Charlotte, they left.
"Do you know they left us?" Bella said.
Charlotte nodded. "At least we won't have to worry about keeping them company."
Bella smiled. "You are..."
She noticed someone; she blinked. J-Jordan?
