Chapter 117 Blake Faces Steelclaw
Chapter 117 Blake Faces Steelclaw
Blake's POV
I was pacing in my room as I kept wondering about why Julia got poisoned.
"Blake? What's the matter with you? I'm fine, and I told you, as soon as I put the tiger angelica into the fire, the fumes made me cough and the next moment, I was out." Julia said in a frank worried voice.
"Julia, I know. And everyone says that as well, but there's something that I can't put my finger on, but I'm sure there's more than meets the eye." I said in a frank voice.
"Blake, what's the matter? If you tell me, maybe I can tell what's bothering you?" Julia said, worriedly.
"Julia, you said after putting the tiger angelica into the fire for processing, you fainted. (Julia nodded) If it was jade moss, I could have understood, as jade moss can be poisonous at times, but tiger angelica, impossible. And after putting tiger angelica into the fire, it releases a fragrant smell that can make you ecstatic, but fain, never." I said, explaining.
"Blake, I was a little confused, but now I really don't understand what you're saying. And if so, I picked the tiger angelica myself. There's not way, they could be tempered." Julia said in a frank voice.
"I know. Julia, where did you pick it from, exactly?" I asked in a curious voice.
"From the Rivald Forest, why?" Julia asked in a curious voice.
"Rivald Forest? Julia, that's the border from where Steelclaw domain begins." I said in a frank voice.
"Blake, are you saying--"
"Let's go." I took hold of Julia's hand and went over to Rivald Forest.
"Look, (I showed her the spots on the angelica) I told you, they're tempered--"
"Well, well." A voice came from behind us. As we turned around, the steelclaw rogues were standing in front of us.
"Finally, you came into my hands. And, Julia, I must thank you. If you hadn't fallen into our trap, how would you pick my angelica, and how would Blake come here looking for it." Shaun said, laughing.
"I knew the moment Julia mentioned Rivald Forest. Now, do you want to waste time on chatting, or shall we duel?"
"Yes, please." Shaun said as he gestured to his wolf to join.
"Oh, I do hope you don't mind. After all, me and my wolf always fight together. Oh, how silly of me, you don't have a wolf. (Shaun smirked) All humans of Demonbite don't have wolves cause they're dead." He began to laugh out loud.
"So, what? Even if my wolf isn't with me in body, his soul, his strength is always with me." I said in a frank voice.
Shaun attacked without telling, but I dodged his attack and even managed to claw him.
As he fell holding onto his wound, he yelled, "How can you claw at me? You don't have a wolf."
"Yes, (I showed him my claws) but I said, 'he's with me." I said in a frank voice.
"The hell with you!" Shaun said as he threw dust into my eyes.
I instantly closed my eyes, and did not rub as I knew rubbing would make me tear up and I'd not be able to see clearly.
I waited for a few seconds as my body's protection mechanism made the tears wash away the dust.
I wiped my eyes in time to see Shaun ready to attack me. I flung my leg and kicked him straight in the stomach.
He fell to the ground coughing blood. After a few more unsuccessful attacks, Shaun got angry and removed his claws.
"That's it. Now, even if you die, I don't care." He smirked as he was about to attack.
I grabbed a leaf and crushed a flora with the push of my hand and grabbed his hand, and flung him onto the ground.
He grabbed his arms in pain and then got up furiously.
"Damn you, go to hell!!!" Shaun said as he came running towards me, but all I did was move out of his path and he ended up hitting into the rock that I was standing in front of.
"Blake!" Julia called out as she saw Shaun running towards me.
As she came over hugging me, we walked over to where Shaun was laying unconscious on the ground.
"Blake? Is he okay?" Julis asked in a worried voice.
"Yes, I think he lost consciousness on hitting the rock. Let's go. His members will come looking for him." I said in a frank voice.
"Blake, I'm sorry--"
"Julia, don't say that. Shaun wasn't your enemy. He just wanted to get me to come." I said in a frank voice.
"But why?" Julia asked in a curious voice.
"Julia, you didn't notice did you? Shaun does have a wolf, but his wolf is old, meaning his wolf was born at least ten years before him. Without a wolf, his alpha status is definitely in danger. I'm sure he wanted to confirm whether I and the Demonbite omega's are really without a wolf. Now, he's certain, and I'm sure, he thinks, now even if his wolf dies, he'll be the same." I said, explaining.
"But Blake, that's a fact. If our wolf dies, it doesn't affect us. Look at me." Julia said in a frank voice.
"Julia, your wolf died when you were barely a teen. But losing your wolf as an adult is not easy. After losing my wolf, my body deteriorated. I lost my weight, and my ability to fight. I had to revive my body, learn to fight all over again as a single being. Though we think we're two bodies, when we lose our wolf as an adult, a part of us dies. Managing to live as a whole body isn't easy. And I'm not alone in this. Most from our pack are the same." I said in a frank voice.
"Blake, honestly, after meeting you, I realized a whole new world. I don't know why I was so obsessed with all this immortal stuff. Oh, I totally forgot, that witch, who told me about this pill thing, was also from Steelclaw." Julia said, recalling.
"What? Steelclaw have a witch? This is not a good thing." I said in a worried voice.
