Chapter 213

Chapter 213
Instantly, Fabio felt all the muscles in his body betray him. His legs went weak, barely able to support his enormous body. He collapsed into the chair and felt his body suddenly grow cold, frightened.
Was Ethan Legrand really the one who captured me? Why? Why is this man holding me here?
Fabio tried to find the answers to all the questions running through his mind, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't find them.
He was confused.
Completely confused.
Fabio began to worry because Joana, his boss, always used this person's name to spread gossip among them. And, as Joana's manager, he knew that she did not have a romantic relationship with Ethan Legrand.
They only created gossip so that Joana's popularity would always be a trending topic on all internet news sites and social media.
Fabio's sweaty hands clenched into fists when he saw Ethan stop and stand a few steps away from the table. He felt all the blood drain from his face when he saw Ethan's look of disgust fixed on him.
Feeling nervous, Fabio could only swallow to moisten his suddenly dry throat.
Waiting a few seconds without Ethan saying anything was enough to make Fabio feel tortured.
“Mr... Mr... Legrand, why? Why are you holding me here?” Fabio's voice trembled. He was too afraid to face that man, because he knew that he and Joana had spread many rumors about him.
Now, Fabio kept praying that this man didn't know what they had done in the past.
But...
Wait!
“Ethan Legrand must be aware, right? Is that why he captured me and detained me here?” Slowly, Fabio's eyes widened in horror when he saw Ethan.
“Damn it! This is the end for me! This guy is definitely going to torture me...” Fabio felt like crying. He tried to hold his trembling hand under the table, waiting for Ethan to say something.
But after a minute, Fabio could only see Ethan standing where he was, saying nothing. His hands were tucked into his pants pockets, and his cold charisma made Fabio even more anxious.
....
Ethan didn't answer right away. He approached the table, stopping two steps before it. His eyes were still sharp, fixed on Fabio.
After looking satisfied, the man in front of him sat down, restless. Ethan said slowly, “I'm going to ask you something, and your answer will affect your fate... I hope you answer honestly. Are you ready?”
Fabio blinked for a moment before nodding quickly.
“Yes, yes, Mr. Legrand. I'm ready... please, please, ask anything, I'll answer...” he replied quickly.
Whatever Ethan Legrand's question was, he would answer honestly.
Fabio knew he couldn't make a mistake in front of that man, or his life would be in danger.
“Great! Was it your idea to hire a buzzer to attack Globs Entertainment?” Ethan's question was direct; he just needed to find evidence that Joana was involved in the case. They couldn't find anything after monitoring all her gadgets and communication devices, including her email. Joana seems to know that her cell phone and email have been monitored.
Instantly, Fabio felt all his limbs freeze when he heard Ethan Legrand's question.
“How did Ethan Legrand know that?” That question immediately popped into Fabio's mind.
It was hard for him to believe, because he was confident that he had completely covered his tracks. No one could confirm that he had paid for all the buzzers.
Fabio clenched his hands under the table. He tried to find the right answer. He couldn't speak randomly, because he would be in trouble if he exposed Joana.
“Y-Yes... It was my idea, sir...” Fabio replied briefly.
He had no choice but to answer that way.
He couldn't reveal the truth, because if Joana asked her fiancé to get rid of him, he would die instantly.
A thin, cold smile appeared at the corner of Ethan's lips when he heard Fabio's answer. His hand rose slowly as he stroked his eyebrows, feeling displeased.
Seconds later, he muttered softly, “Hit him!”
Two men, no less tall than Fabio, entered the room. Their aura was that of someone ready to kill their prey, causing Fabio's eyes to widen in surprise as he saw them marching toward him.
“Sir... Mr. Legrand... Why are you asking them to hit him?”
Fabio's eyes widened in surprise when he saw them marching toward him.
“Sir... Mr. Legrand... Why are you asking them to hit him—” His words disappeared when the powerful fist of one of the big men standing next to him hit his cheek, causing his head to tilt at a ninety-degree angle.
He let out a loud scream—as unspeakable pain could be felt in his face—echoing throughout the room.
Before Fabio could raise his head, the other man's fist hit the other side of his cheek with the same force. A roar of pain sounded again, this time louder than before.
“Arghh...”
The more Fabio screamed in agony from the pain he felt, the harder the punch hit his cheeks. It was as if those two men were punching him as punishment for the noise he was making.
Gradually, Fabio lost the energy to cry and scream in pain. Instead, he tasted metal in his mouth, and a warm liquid slowly dripped from the edge of his lips onto the white floor.
“Blood!?” Fabio whispered as he wiped the warm liquid from the corner of his lips and was surprised to see so much fresh blood on his palm.
Fabio looked up and saw Ethan with teary eyes.
“Sir, Mr. Legrand, I'll answer... But please ask your men to stop punching me. ARGHHH...” he howled as he cried out in pain while the two men continued to beat him.
Fabio could do nothing now. All he could do was try to endure the torture they were inflicting on him. The howls continued to pierce the silence of the room.
After a few seconds, he coughed violently.
“Cough!”
He vomited blood several times and his eyes began to water again; he couldn't bear the torture. He would rather die than endure it.
“Please, kill me... Sir... Please... I can't take this pain anymore...” Fabio said between sobs.
A few seconds later, his loud cry echoed again when he saw that several of his teeth had fallen to the floor.
Ethan made no sound; his eyes were still fixed on Fabio, but he ignored his miserable plea.
“Mr. Legrand, sir... please stop...” Fabio raised both hands to protect his face from the punches.
“Speak!” Ethan said, and at the same time, his men stopped punching Fabio in the face.
Fabio's huge body trembled when he saw Ethan. “La—Joana, who asked me to do this.
I need proof! If you don't have any, then it's useless...”
“Sir, I can provide evidence. I have a recording of Joana's voice asking me to pay several internet users and social media influencers to defame Globs Entertainment.” Fabio was no longer trying to hide anything; he no longer cared about Joana.
Ethan chuckled softly when he saw Fabio's unrecognizable face. Fresh blood was dripping from his nose, and his eyes were red. His cheeks began to turn blue and swell.
“You should have answered me like this from the beginning. If you had, my people wouldn't have defeated you...” Ethan said coldly. “I need the recording. You can tell my man where you kept it...”
“Yes, sir. I'll...” Fabio replied quickly, nodding.
