Chapter 161
“Mom... would you mind putting me down? I want to walk and hold your hand!” Theo said suddenly, and I was calm but firm.
“Are you sure you don't want Mommy to carry you to the living room?” Lilian tried to provoke him.
“Yes, please. What Aunt Anna said is true, Mommy must be tired...” Lilian complied with Théo's wishes without saying anything, and felt her son's weight growing, making her waist feel crushed.
She stifled a laugh, but when she met his brown eyes, she suddenly froze, remembering someone who was now running to fly there and making her heart beat faster again.
She tries to distract her mind from Ethan as she walks back to the living room.
“Are you okay, Lilian?” her grandfather and Nelson Legrand asked when she entered the room, concern written all over their faces.
"Grandpa, Grandpa Nelson, I'm fine. “Lilian greeted them with a smile. ”While I was in the mine, I discovered that my cell phone battery had died, and I was only able to charge it in the car on the way home. I apologize if I caused anyone concern.“
”We were worried because we couldn't get in touch with Dinho either!" Carlos explained.
“No need to apologize, Lilian.” Nelson laughed. “The important thing is that you're back and well!” he said.
Lilian sat down on the sofa next to Théo and nodded as they talked, but before she could ask about dinner, Antonio suddenly entered the room and announced that it was ready.
She excused herself to clean up first and ran upstairs to change before joining them.
After dinner, Lilian and Théo talked in his room, and Théo lay down on the bed while Lilian sat next to him, leaning against the headboard.
She played with her son's soft hair, listening attentively as he recounted his day.
Théo talked excitedly about the time he spent training with Antonio while playing in the white sand, and after that, he returned home and rested. They decided not to go out after lunch due to the intense heat of the sun, however, they boarded a boat at noon and set off for a fishing trip.
“Fishing was so much fun, Mom. I caught a fish today!” Théo's eyes sparkled with excitement, but his expression slowly changed a few seconds later.
“What's wrong, sweetheart? Why do you look so sad?” Lilian sat up straight, worried that something had happened to him.
“I only caught one fish all day, while the others caught a lot. I wish Dad was here, because I want to go fishing with Dad...” Théo took a deep breath and looked up at the ceiling.
Lilian's worries slowly disappeared, and she thought there was something else that was making him sad.
“When Dad is here, we can go fishing and catch as many fish as you want. You don't need to be sad.” She gently stroked his cheek so that he would look her in the eyes before she spoke.
“Really?” The light in his eyes sparkled.
“Yes, dear!”
“I hope Dad comes soon!” Theo said excitedly.
However, his expression changed once again, and this time, his eyes flashed with concern, and Lilian was confused to see how quickly his expression had changed again.
It was rare for Théo to show so much emotion. He usually seemed calm.
“Mom...” Théo's eyes blinked several times as he looked at Lilian.
“What is it, Theo!?”“When I couldn't reach you on your cell phone and you didn't reply to my message, I decided to call Dad!” Theo explained, pausing momentarily to see his mother's reaction before continuing. "I feel bad... because when I called, Dad was sleeping, and he seemed worried about you too.
I'm sorry, Mom. I know that because of me, Dad will worry about you too.“
”It's okay, sweetie,“ Lilian smiled and said. ”I'm not mad. Besides, Dad already told Mom that you called him." Théo smiled again when he learned that his mother wasn't mad at him.
“All right, now it's time to sleep!” Lilian said as she got up from the bed and helped fix Théo's blanket before turning off the lights. “Good night, son.”
Looking at Théo once more, she closed the door immediately.
When she found herself alone in the room, the first thing she did was look for her purse, and after taking her medicine and vitamins, she went to the sofa and tried to call Matthew.
She feels terrible for letting him go to the mine alone, and now she needs to hear his report.
Lilian was about to dial Matthew's number when her cell phone vibrated and Matthew's name appeared.
She was amused by the coincidence that Matthew had called her first.
“Hello, Matthew, have you arrived yet?”
“Yes. I arrived two hours ago. Lilian, how are you? Are you feeling better now?” Matthew asked, concerned.
When Matthew arrived at the mansion two hours earlier and noticed Dinho's car, worried about Lilian's condition, he looked for Dinho to ask about her health. Unfortunately, Dinho was already fast asleep.
Unable to get any information from Dinho, Matthew sent Lilian a few messages, but she didn't reply, so he had no choice but to call her, even though it was late at night.
“I feel much better now, and I don't think my fever will come back. Please don't worry about me, I'm just feeling tired and stressed because I can't stop thinking about that bitch Joana Mercadante and Andreas,” said Lilian, trying to lighten the mood.
She could feel Matthew's concern in his words and tone of voice.
“Thank God! When I was at the mine, I wanted to get home as soon as possible to see how you were, but Dinho sent me a message saying you were fine and fell asleep after they gave you the medicine.”
"I just need a few hours of sleep and I feel much better now. Tell me about your visit to the site.
Matthew told Lilian about his visit to the mine, and after that, he suddenly remembered something important they needed to discuss. He told her about Joana Mercadante, who seems too bold in attacking Globs Entertainment on social media through her paid internet followers.
Joana Mercadante's paid digital army continues to blame Globs Entertainment for her departure from the industry, and he also informed her that a few hours ago, Globs' new CEO called him and requested a meeting with Lilian to discuss the matter.
The CEO wanted to sue them all, but the legal team was against it.
