Chapter 28

Andrew was beyond pissed when he heard that Vanessa was in his Villa. He clearly remembered his warnings to her three years ago.

He drove with speed not caring about anything to his house with the aim to get her out of his house. As soon as he parked his car, he strode into his villa.

As soon as he entered, he was surprised to see Vanessa dressed in lingerie with a glass of wine in between her fingers. He clenched his fist, staring at her in disgust. She never backed down after he had let himself fuck her. Ever since then, she'd been coming to his room. It's one of the many reasons he left his family mansion.

His stomach churned as he saw her looking devilishly attractive. She was attractive yet no part of him was turned on at all. She sickened him, he wondered why she had to be so shameless.

After acting so innocent and telling him to forget what happened that night, it turned out to be that she said that so as to keep seducing him.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, annoyance laced in his voice. Andrew never expected she'd act like this, to have lost all self-respect.

He wondered where the Vanessa he knew was. The lady in front of him was nothing like her.

"Baby," she coos, getting up from the couch and moving towards him.

"Stop! Just stop right there and don't get any closer,” he said through gritted teeth as he raised his hand up, telling her to halt.

She was shocked by his voice; it was harsh and angry. But that didn't stop her. Vanessa needed him to be hers again, to be obsessed with her like when they were teenagers. She wouldn't accept he had moved on and wanted someone else.

"If I'm back from the bathroom and you are still here, I'm afraid you might have to sleep at the police station." Without another glance, he marched into the bathroom.

Although his words were demeaning, she wasn't fazed by them at all. She took a sip of her wine, smiled and sat down on the couch patiently waiting for him to come back to her.

"Sooner or later Andrew, you will be mine alone," she muttered, taking another sip from her cup.

Christiana reached home that night a little past eight tired. She had to pick up Drew from the babysitter. She opened the door to her apartment, dropped her coat on the couch, and moved towards the kitchen to prepare dinner for both her and her son.

When she opened the cupboard of her kitchen, she realized that she had nothing to make as she hadn't had much time to go shopping. "Do you want pizza for dinner?" she asked Drew who was busy jumping on the couch. "Silly boy," she chuckled. Drew always made her smile.

He gave her a reason to smile always no matter how difficult it was for her.

Drew was five. She found out she was pregnant with Andrew's child three months after settling down in Trinidad. She couldn't believe she hadn't noticed until the doctor had confirmed it. Her skin was getting thicker, and she'd gained weight too. The day Drew was born was the most joyous day of her life. He was an exact replica of Andrew, so she named him after his father ... Andrew Jr.

Christiana carried him in her arms as she took him to the bathroom. She ordered pizza while bathing Drew.

"Mummy," he called her, placing his hands on her shoulder as she bathed him.

"Yes, my boy," she answered him.

"Today, my friend daddy came to pick him, when will my daddy come for me?" He asked her, taking her by shock. This would be the first time he ever asked her of his father.

She was short of words as she had nothing to say to him nor ang reassurance that his daddy will come soon.

Andrew didn't know of his existence and most times she wondered if he moved on and got married to a lady of his status just like his mother wanted.

Andrew sat on the couch of his living room with his laptop resting comfortably on his thighs, he was working with some documents. He was glad that Vanessa had left before he came out. He intentionally locked himself in the bathroom for a long time to make sure her presence was no longer available by the time he came back.

He hated her with a passion that was reignited as he remembered how she had tried to hook him with a lie.

She had lied about being pregnant, Andrew doubted it the entire time, but he wasn't completely sure. After all, he had slept with her. The truth was revealed when she had slipped on the stairs and was rushed to the hospital. There was no baby, and when he asked the doctor just in case, it confirmed again. She kept crying and begging him to stay but he loathed lies.

He couldn't believe he fell for it. He stood by her, wanting to be a man who was with his child. He did everything Vanessa wanted and she lied about her cravings too. Using the child to get him to do her biddings and he almost married her too but luckily the truth was revealed, and he was disappointed in her.

Christiana was taking Drew to his sitter's when they stopped by The Cow and The Moon to get gelato and ice cream. While walking, Andrew drove past them but wasn't concerned with the pedestrians walking. Once he drove by, Christiana and Drew crossed to the other side of the road.

Fate brought them together, yet they knew not of each other's presence in the city.

Christiana finally met with Mr. Holt after dropping off Drew. She entered his car as they made their way to the predetermined location.

"Mr. Power said to come to his villa today instead," Mr. Holt explains to her typing something on his phone. Why, sir? she wanted to ask but swallowed her words. The name Power rang a strong bell to her. Andrew appeared in her memory. She didn't know if the Power she was going to meet was the Power she knew but she shrugged off the thought that there were people with the same name in the world.

They parked their car in the lot, both getting out of the vehicle and marching towards the villa.

"I forgot to collect the documents, sir, I'll get them," she tells her boss who sighs. He wasn't one to complain, but this was becoming too common of an occurrence. While he went in, Christiana went back to get the file.

Mr. Holt entered the villa, greeting Andrew who told him to take a seat. "Thank you so much for gracing us with your presence," Mr. Holt said.

Andrew raised his brows up. I'm confused when Mr. Holt said this to us. Mr. Holt chuckled lightly, "I mean I and the interior designer in charge. She will be here soon," he said to him.

"It's no problem. Let me get changed, will be back soon," Andrew said to him.

Andrew left the living room to change into a more comfortable outfit. As soon as he left, Christiana walked in painting. "I'm so sorry sir," she said. She was amazed by the interior design.

The walls were painted cream, there was a flat-screen T.V. placed gracefully on the wall, and the seats held three comfy chairs. Overall, the room was cozy and smelled familiar. Christiana shrugged off the rising feelings and took a seat close to Mr. Holt. She brought out the laptops and began to prepare for the presentation.

"I'm so sorry for the delay," a new voice sounded.

That's familiar, Christiana thought.

"So, how should we get started?"

She felt chills go down her spine as she began to get nervous, slowly, she raised her head to come into contact with those mesmerizing eyes and her heart began to bat rapidly.

"Christiana!"
