Chapter 71 CHAPTER SEVENTY-ONE.
Brianna told Saul about her plan to purchase a house big enough to accommodate a live-in housekeeper.
"Hold on and let me get Martha." Saul said as he dialed a number on his phone. "Martha, come to my office, please. And bring your tablet." He hung up and relaxed into his seat. "Martha is the best. She will get everything sorted out."
"Great." Brianna nodded as the door to Saul's office opened after a soft knock. Martha was a petite blonde who looked to be in her mid-thirties.
"Have a seat, Martha." Saul waved her into a seat. "Meet Dr. Broody and Lt. Brianna Jackson, daughter of Yolanda Jackson." The man said with so much pride Brianna had to stop her eyes from rolling. They both shook Martha's hand. "You're going to work your usual magic for them." He grinned. It was clear he had so much confidence in the lady.
"I'll do my very best, Sir." She smiled prettily as she got her tablet ready.
"Thank you, Martha." Brianna smiled. "So, I want a smart person who will perform typical domestic chores such as cooking, laundering, ironing, cleaning the house, grocery shopping, and anything that will help my mother. She's always loved plants so I want to get a gardener as well."
"Okay." Martha responded as she typed away on her tablet.
"I want whoever we get to see herself as a vital part of the family" Brianna went on. "So I'd love that person to move in with my mother at the same time. Then she can help her unpack and get the house ready."
"I will contact an online agency as soon as we're done." Martha said.
"Good. Please give my mother about three people to interview. I'll have a chat with whoever she settles on. Oh, and I'll like the person to be paid higher than the going rate, please."
"I’ll see to that, Brianna." Saul smiled.
"That's all for now. I don't want us to keep Elizabeth waiting." Brianna stood up.
"She just sent me this address for you." Saul quickly scribbled an address on a sheet and gave it to Brianna.
"This is a different address." Brianna commented, looking at the sheet.
"I explained to her that you said you prefer a fully-furnished house so she had to quickly make some changes." Saul explained.
"Good. I’ll still want someone to take a look at whatever house we pick and make a list of what would be needed in there." Brianna said. "Knowing my mother, she'll insist she doesn't need anything. So I want a professional to make recommendations and purchase whatever needs to be purchased. Anything to make my mother very comfortable."
"Noted, Lt. Jackson." Martha typed away on her tablet.
"Thank you. Oh, and can you please get my mother a laptop, Martha?" Brianna asked.
"No." Julian said. "I promised to get it for her so. " He shrugged.
Brianna smiled. "Forget about the laptop, Martha." Brianna said. She had to make a conscious effort not to grab her boyfriend and kiss him right there in front of Saul and Martha. "I hope we can get a lovely house this afternoon." Brianna said as she and Julian left Saul's posh office. "I will keep you posted so that you can start work on the payment and documentation immediately."
"I’ll be waiting." Saul gave both firm handshakes. "Good to meet you, Julian."
"Likewise, Saul." Julian responded with a grin.
"And welcome back, Brianna." The lawyer beamed. "Im happy you came." He said softly.
"Thanks for looking out for her, Saul. I appreciate it. We'll be in touch."
