Chapter 175

Chapter 175
Green:

We stood beside the arch as the violins started playing. Blue bounced one leg nervously as he waited to see his mate exit the pack house.

Stop that, it’ll ruin her photos.

I ordered him to calm down through the bond, and he halted his nervous movements. Just as he did, the doors opened, revealing Maggie in a Golden lace gown. The majority of it fitted to her, but a second skirt appeared to cover that one in a big poof of fabric.

I chuckled watching his eyes lock onto hers, and he melted for her. His eyes even glistened with some tears.

I smiled broadly, proud of him for binding her, for working so diligently to help take over the pack with her. They still had a lot to learn, but they’d do it together.

As she walked down the aisle and grabbed his hands, her father nodded to my brother, who gave a sharp nod in return. One of these days, he really had to stand up to Alpha Dupret.

The elder began his speech about dedication and love. I didn’t listen to a word he said as I looked at Allie sitting there in that dress. She was a siren taking all of my attention. She owned my mind tonight.

One day, when we had handled the coven, I would make her the same promises my brother was making right now. We had already faced off against a deadly maniac. We had survived. Nothing was going to stop us now.

I saw the same determination in her own mind as she stared back at me. My heart was hammering in my chest as we gazed at each other, making a silent vow to be here again one day.

The elder finished, and Blue pulled his mate into a kiss under the moon's light. Their bonds sealed and their marks turning the somewhat shimmering silver that happened when two wolves bound.

The crowd erupted in applause, and I did too, but my eyes were still locked onto Allie. The happy couple headed back down the aisle towards the reception area, where music now played and drinks flowed.

I headed over to my own mate, pulling her towards me again as the crowd dispersed, many heading over to congratulate the happy couple.

“You didn’t pay attention. Poor Blue, his own brother, ignoring his binding,” she feigned anger on my brother's behalf as she held me by my tie.

“He’ll get over it,” I said, leaning down to place another kiss on her lips.

She melted into it me wrapping her arms around my waist and pressing her body up against mine. I swear, if there weren’t thousands of wolves around us, I’d lose my control.

“It’s a good thing we’re not alone then,” she teased, pulling away.

“Green!” Alpha Jace came over his luna on his arm, and he shook my hand. “This is what we’ve been waiting for! I’m expecting an even bigger party when it's your turn, and we’ve stomped those coven bastards into the ground,” the Texas twang rolled out of his mouth as he winked at us.

Allie chuckled half heartedly beside me. We were exhausted after defeating Denver, the thought of the massive and arduous task that would be dismantling the coven was not on our minds tonight.

His Luna seemed to catch on before he did. “Now, now, it’s not the time or place for battle strategy. Come on, honey, I wanna get good and drunk,” she purred in her partner's ear, taking him in another direction.

“Well, well, looks like everybody is in the hood to celebrate tonight,” Charlie commented as he and Jess came up beside us.

We watched Jace and his wife join the other alphas who were already busy getting drunk. Then we turned back to watch Blue and Maggie dance around the dance floor as if they were the only two people there. Both sets of parents were watching them with misty eyes. Despite my mom and her dad's differences, they could at least acknowledge that their kids made a wonderful couple.

We all walked over there as more couples were invited onto the dance floor to start the party.

Allie wrapped her arms around my neck as my hands settled on her waist. Goddess, I loved this dress. It was like there was nothing between my hands and her body, it was as if it was made specifically for her, the way it molded to her curves.

“You look like you’re going to eat me whole,” she warned me.

I laughed at her tone, but the look in her eyes told me she might just enjoy that.

“Sadly, no,” I denied. We both didn’t want to do anything to complicate things further, so we were abstaining. A horrible self-inflicted punishment that reared its ugly head daily.

When this was over, and we were bound, I was determined to lock her in a room for a month to make up for lost time.

She must have read my mind as she went a deep shade of crimson hiding her face against my chest. “Don’t think things like that. You’re not helping,” she hissed.

At least she was suffering as much as I was, which helped nothing.

A cheer broke out as Blue dipped his bride and kissed her. We both smiled softly as we watched them.

“So are you happy?” I asked her taking her attention away from the happy couple.

“What?” She laughed as she questioned my abrupt thought. “Of course I’m happy. We got rid of villain number one, arguably the worst of the two.”

I chuckled again. “I just want to make sure. I don’t want you spending another moment in misery. He’s gone. Dead. Cut up if I heard correctly,”

She grimaced at the thought.

“We have lived, and now all we have to do is-“

“Overthrow the government,” she finished for me, and we both broke out into laughter.

“Still. Evil villains aside, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” she swore, stepping closer to me.

“Thank the goddess,” I told her.

She put her head on my chest, and we kept dancing underneath the moon and stars. After the hell we had gone through, it was the perfect night. Our family and friends gathered around, dancing and singing along rather drunkenly to the music. Hundreds and dozens of wolves coming together to celebrate not only my brother and his new wife, but also our victory.

I still couldn’t quite believe that I had done it. That I had killed Denver. The Coven had let him lose, hoping it would solve their problems, and I had stopped him. I pulled her face to mine, giving her another kiss.

Nothing would stop us now.
