Chapter 12
Cassandra was stunned by Trevor’s words. She said she needed time to think it over and Trevor didn’t press her. “Whenever you’ve made a decision, just let me know.”
Lunchtime arrived and Trevor suggested they grab a bite at the restaurant downstairs. Harry had work to attend to, so he didn’t join them.
They had just stepped out of the elevator when someone suddenly rushed over.
“Cassie, I’m so sorry, I was wrong! I’ve come to find you, let’s go home.” Samuel appeared out of nowhere, holding Cassandra’s hand and refusing to let go.
Before Cassandra could react, Trevor yanked Samuel’s hand away and warned coldly, “Samuel, you two are already divorced. Let go of her.”
Samuel retorted, “Uncle, we’re not divorced yet! We haven’t gotten the papers, so Cassandra is still my wife! As for you, Uncle, why are you chasing after your own nephew’s wife?”
As if something suddenly clicked, Samuel pointed at Trevor. “I get it, now! Cassandra loved me so much. There’s no way she would willingly divorce me. It’s because of you, isn’t it? Uncle, Cassandra is my woman! You’re seducing a married woman!”
Cassandra felt like Samuel had lost his mind. How dare he speak to Trevor like that? “Samuel, have you lost it? Back then, it was you who protected Francesca. You were the one who wanted to take my kidney for her and now you’re pretending to be some devoted lover?”
“Your current appearance only makes me sick and want to vomit.” If it were before, Cassandra would have felt touched. Now, she would only think that Samuel was being cheap.
At this moment, Samuel was already convinced that Trevor had seduced Cassandra. “Cassie, you’re young and don’t know right from wrong. I don’t blame you. Come home with me, and we’ll talk about it when we get home.”
As he reached out to grab her wrist, Cassandra instinctively stepped behind Trevor. Trevor caught Samuel’s wrist and warned icily, “Samuel, if you don’t want a broken arm, don’t touch her.”
Samuel was flung aside. Any lingering guilt he had before coming here was now completely gone. “Cassandra Nolan, have you been seeing him all along? You’re still carrying our child! How could you betray me?”
Cassandra was infuriated by Samuel’s shamelessness. She walked forward and smiled coldly. “First of all, my name is no longer Cassandra Nolan. It’s Cassandra Barnes now. As for the child… it’s gone. A man like you doesn’t deserve to be a father.”
Samuel’s tightly wound string snapped instantly and he roared, “Did it really slip away, or was it aborted by you? I think you’re afraid that this child will hinder you from marrying

I think you’re afraid that this child will hinder you from marrying again, so you aborted our child with your own hands! Cassandra, this is our child together. What right do you have to abort him? The child is innocent. How can you be so cruel?
You’ve changed. You’ve become cruel, vicious, and unrecognizable. Aren’t you afraid that one day, the baby’s spirit will come back to haunt you?”
Cassandra trembled with fury. She had never met someone so shameless in her life. Twelve years. She had wasted twelve years loving this scumbag. “What right you said? Samuel, then what rights do you have to make decisions for me and give my kidney to Francesca? You love her so much, why don’t you give her your kidney?”
Cassandra’s words made Samuel feel that Cassandra still loved him. “Cassie, I don’t want your kidney anymore. The doctor misdiagnosed it, and everything is over. Francesca is too pitiful. She has already lost her child. I just wanted to help her.”
