Chapter 20 Just a mere slave.
CHAPTER 20.
\-ALPHA DAMIAN-
Watching her get hit by Princess Rivera got me wounded. I was furious and so mad to watch another raise a hand on her.
I tolerated Nerida to a point, I can't tolerate another person.
Princess Rivera and I used to be just friends. But that friendship ended a very long time ago.
Yet, Mother had to invite her over and make the decision of us getting engaged without letting me know first.
I wasn't pleased with it at all.. not even for the slightest bit.
But that's what Startled Lilith and made her spill water on her accidentally.
I could feel how uncomfortable she was and I needed to see her. That's why I invited her over but got carried away by her presence.
I have never felt this way… enticed by her beauty.
But, sharing a passionate night with her, brought me a wild desire and I could barely keep my emotions in check.
Dovan has been yearning for her and having her wrapped around my arms, his desires crept in, taking over me completely.
I had to mark her and make a bond with her… Doing that, I feel very satisfied.
I feel whole and alive again after years of having to bear with the pain of losing my mate.
Sitting on the chair and sipping from my glass of wine, I watched her sleep soundly on my bed.
Her face looks so peaceful as though she's having the best sleep she could ever ask for.
But tonight… It's a special night.. A night where I've become whole again.
Now, I have a second chance mate. The moon Goddess gave me an Omega again to redeem my wrong doings in the past.
This could be the second chance I needed… one that involves Lilith as my mate.

The next morning.
I stretched out my hands and body, turning on the soft silk bed.
My eyes opened but I quickly shut them back because of the strong rays of light that hit my iris.
“You're awake?”
I snapped my eyes back open when I heard Alpha Damian's voice.
Memories of last night flooded back into my mind… It replayed vividly that I could recall every scene.
How It started and how he asked me to forget everything and go to sleep.
I had the best night ever and I don't regret what happened. He marked me, we share a bond and that's pretty okay by me.
I'm rest assured that he's willing to accept me. Perhaps, I shouldn't be scared about social class and whatnot.
He could be different from Sylas - My previous mate.
If he isn't ready to accept me for who I am, would he have created a mate bond?
“Good morning, Alpha”
“I guess you slept well”
I looked at him… He was seated. His eyes and attention are all on me.
I nodded my head.
“You know we share a bond now.. You have my mark so you should know that I own you now”
All I did was just nod my head.
“You should freshen up. You can't go out looking like this”
That made sense..
“You mean I could use your bathroom?” I asked.
“There's no other bathroom here. So yes.. you can use mine”
I wrapped the sheets around me and made my way to his bathroom.
The first thing I did was stand in front of the glass mirror and looked at the spot I was marked.
I could see his canine teeth on my neck and my heart did a backflip.
I never thought I'd get marked by anyone because everyone treated me like trash. But, I guess I'm about to experience a new found change.
Maybe this is just my fate.
I freshened up, making sure not to use too much of his things. When I was done, I dressed up in my clothes.
I was about to step out of the bathroom when I heard voices from outside.
“Mother?..”
I halted on my steps as my heart sank deep. His mother? .. What's she doing in his room this early?
I listened closely.
“We need to talk, Son”
“What's it about, Mother?”
“About the staunt you pulled in front of everyone yesterday”
“I didn't pull a staunt mother, I did what I needed to do”
“By raising your voice at Princess Rivera over a common maid? That wasn't you, Damian. It's so unlike you to care if a maid gets slap or not”
“She's my personal maid, Mother…”
“It gives you no right to talk down on Rivera in front of everyone. Don't tell me you have a thing for that Slave. I see the way you reacted… not just with Rivera but you also had Nerida punished instead of her…”
“Mother?..”
“Need I remind you, Son.. You are an Alpha and she's a slave. However one wants to treat her, should be a point for you think off”
My hands lingered on the door as I wanted patiently for Alpha Damian's response.
“She's just a slave, Mother.. You don't have to get yourself all worked up”
His response broke me because I expected much more from him after everything we shared last night.
After the passionate moment and after he marked me.
Tears stinged the corner of my eyes as I have never been so humiliated. Just when I began to have a new found hope, it's crushed to pieces.
Of course, I'm always the Omega slave who is used by those fated to her.
“You are getting engaged to Rivera…It should remain that way. Reacting whenever that lowlife slave is being hit would create unnecessary rumors. You don't want to tarnish your reputation as an Alpha”
I heard footsteps retreating and then the door slamming shut.
His mother was gone but I remained standing… wallowing in my embarrassment.
“You can come out now..” Alpha Damian said.
But I stood for a while.. Swallowing up the anger I feel within me.
Ashamed of myself for letting him take advantage of me.
And then, he referred to me as just a slave?
What was I thinking? What on earth was I expecting?
I guess dreams are just dreams and can never turn to reality.
Taking a deep breath, I wiped the tears off my face, pulled the door open and stepped out.
“Lilith..” He called out, trying to touch me but I jerked back as if his hands had fire in them.
I forgot the fact that he is an Alpha.. I glared harshly at him, filled with regrets.
“You are right about one thing… I am nothing but a slave. Let it remain that way.. Alpha Damian”
I said within gritted teeth, and stormed out of his room, slamming the door behind.
