20. Cold Kiss

Alexa's eyes opened wide and looked around her with gasping breath. However, Alexa was still breathing through her lungs because only her outer part had turned into a robot.

"Are you awake?" The deep voice coming from beside Alexa surprised the girl again. Then she quickly turned her head to the side.

Dean looked at Alexa who was catching her breath and then helped the girl to sit up.

No one spoke for a while until Alexa calmed herself down. After calming down, the girl turned to Dean and looked at the man.

"How long was I asleep?" Alexa asked.

Dean was silent for a moment without answering immediately.

"About seven or eight hours," Dean answered.

Alexa nodded and then remembered the incident before she lost consciousness. Dean who was attacked by Aluqi made the man get wounds all over his body. Alexa became worried and looked back at Dean.

"Are you okay? What about your wounds?" Alexa asked again while checking Dean's body which was wrapped in his robot uniform.

Dean just nodded and answered, "I'm fine. The wounds I got weren't as bad as yours," Dean said.

Alexa closed her eyes, relieved that Dean was okay and even though Alexa knew she couldn't do anything, at least Dean was okay now.

"Then, what about the others? The war is still going on, right?" Alexa asked again with a little impatience for some reason.

"Yes, it's still going on," Dean answered shortly.

Alexa got up from the bed and was about to go out to return to the battlefield after remembering Azlan's words some time ago, but Dean quickly pulled the girl's hand until she sat back in her place roughly.

"Where are you going?" Dean asked.

"I have to go back to the battlefield. I have a clue so I can go back," the girl said and was about to leave again but again Dean held Alexa's hand forcing the girl to stay there.

"No. You're not going back there," Dean said firmly.

Alexa was shocked to hear that.

"What do you mean? I..."

"I won't let you go again after what happened," Dean said more firmly this time.

Alexa stared at him in disbelief.

Remembering what happened earlier, Alexa fell silent because she might not be able to return to the battlefield because she was careless violated what Dean had set, and ignored the warnings.

“But, I—“

“Whatever the reason, I won’t let you go. Not for now,” Dean continued, making Alexa even more silent.

But then Alexa’s attention shifted back to Azlan, remembering his last sentence, not for now. What did he mean?

“You mean?” Alexa confirmed.

“You still need to rest to go back there, and start preparing again,” Dean replied.

A smile now appeared on Alexa’s lips hearing the man’s words and felt relieved. That meant Dean didn’t completely forbid Alexa from returning to the battlefield.

“You surprised me,” Alexa said.

Dean didn’t answer, just stared at the girl in silence, deliberately not calling the others because Harlan must have known that Alexa was fine and was just watching from afar, from where he was sitting in his room,

“You want to go back there after what happened?” Dean asked a little in disbelief.

“Yes. Whatever happens, I’ve made a decision, and I also got a clue while I was sleeping,” said Alexa whose gaze was now sparkling, ready to move again to complete her task.

There was no comment from Dean who just watched in silence. Alexa told about her dream, how she was in a deserted place only to see her body lying helplessly. Even though Dean didn’t understand, Alexa continued her story.

After finishing her story, Alexa was silent for a moment and realized that Dean was listening to her. The girl faced Dean, staring at the man who looked confused.

"You rarely talk, huh?" Alexa asked.

Dean admitted it with a nod.

"I'm used to it. Seeing you talk, I think it's fun," Dean admitted, even smiling faintly.

Alexa laughed, not expecting what the man said at all.

But then when their gazes met, and made both of them silent without a word. Alexa suddenly approached, stopping for a moment when her face was so close to Dean's face, with only one finger left.

Alexa knew, realising that what crossed her mind was something crazy. But for some reason, every time she was near Dean, besides the comfort that was present, for some reason, Alexa could feel a pull. Alexa also felt a turbulent feeling in her chest when she brought her face closer to Dean.

Because she wanted to make sure that the feelings Alexa was feeling right now were not because of Dean, the girl finally pressed her lips against Dean's lips.

Cold, and stiff. Alexa was silent for a moment with her eyes closed, then moved away and looked at silent Dean.

Alexa's chest rose and fell quickly, staring at Dean's face so intensely. Dean realized that and seemed to give Alexa access to try it again. So without wasting any time, Alexa landed another kiss on Dean's lips. She paused for a moment then started to move, touching the man's cold and stiff lips.

Even though it was cold, Alexa continued, moving slowly, even her hands moved.

"Dean," Alexa said breathlessly as she moved away from the man's face.

Dean didn't answer, just watched.

The two of them stared at each other for a while until this time Dean initiated it, the cold kiss slowly turned warm. They then joined their lips.

Even though Dean was a robot, his face was like a human's, and his lips somehow made Alexa get carried away in the kiss.

Realizing that they were both different, Alexa stopped kissing Dean again, caught her breath, and turned around.

"This isn't right," Alexa said.

However, it was undeniable that Alexa wanted it again. A kiss that Alexa rarely got from her lover on Earth because, during their relationship, Alexa refused more because it was uncomfortable. But this time, Alexa realized it shouldn't be.

"I must be crazy," Alexa grumbled.

Alexa was silent, becoming tense as Dean's hand moved to her waist that was facing away from her, and moved to the front of Alexa's stomach. The gentle movement somehow managed to lull Alexa to sleep even though they were both wearing iron-plated robot uniforms.

"Dean, I..." Alexa didn't finish her sentence because Dean suddenly turned her body quickly and returned to devouring Alexa's lips.

The gentle kiss began to demand, and Alexa was carried away by Dean's clever lip play. Alexa moved her body closer to Dean, deepening the kiss until they both lay on the bed.

With his movement, Dean closed all the curtains, turning off the lights in his room so that the game would not be disturbed. Alexa was increasingly lulled by Dean's cold kiss but it made her addicted.

Could Alexa do that even though she knew the difference with Dean? But it cannot be denied that Alexa was indeed attracted to Dean, the commander of the robot troops.
