11. Weapons Training

“My job is done,” said Azura as she disappeared from the system screen that was in front of Alexa.

Alexa looked at Azura in surprise.

“Now it’s Dean’s turn,” said Azura again as she directed her gaze behind Alexa.

Following Azura’s gaze, Alexa found Dean standing not far from her. The girl didn’t know since when Dean had been there.

“You came right on time as if Azura told you that the training was over?” Alexa looked surprised.

Azura laughed.

“That’s right. On the button on the right that brings up the helmet, there is a one-way communication device, meaning you can only tell one person, and it can’t be known by robots or other systems,” Azura explained telling Alexa once again.

The girl nodded in understanding, maybe Alexa just needed to master the system before going into battle and using it directly.

“However, you have to activate the connection first,” continued Azura.

Alexa nodded in understanding now as she looked at the button on her right arm. The button was very small.

“I’ve contacted you, just press number five, that’s my channel. Dean will tell you later,” said Azura. “Then, I’ll go first.” The girl left while waving her hand to say goodbye to Alexa.

After Azura left, only the two of them were left in the special room. Alexa returned to paying attention to the buttons on her arms until she didn’t notice Dean’s arrival.

Dean suddenly grabbed Alexa’s hand and played with his arm to activate his system and then connected it to Alexa.

“My channel is number two. Number one is Master Harlan’s channel,” said Dean who easily activated the connection between himself and Alexa.

The girl nodded her head. Because the connection between Dean and Alexa was still active, only the two of them were talking. The helmet worn by Alexa also appeared in the form of a transparent or physically real system. There was an invisible communication device connected to Alexa’s ear that made it easy for anyone to listen to directions and commands. All robot uniforms had that system.

“Azura has also told me about your strengths and weaknesses. You don’t need to push yourself, just use it in an emergency,” said Dean who then let go of Alexa’s hand and looked at the girl.

Nodding her head, Alexa began to understand the uniform system.

“Your aura is blue,” Dean said suddenly.

Alexa looked at the man.

“The light that comes out of you is called aura,” Dean explained.

“Oh,” Alexa now understood about the light. “Like water,” the girl said then.

Dean looked at her.

“It’s the water element that exists on Earth,” Dean said.

Alexa nodded.

“What about you? What’s your aura?” Alexa asked curiously.

“White, wind,” Dean answered briefly.

Alexa just found out that Dean’s aura was white like the wind element as if it contrasted with Dean’s cold attitude. But on the other hand, Alexa was curious about what Dean was like when he was fighting. Alexa had thought Dean’s aura was red, like fire.

“Since Azura has explained the advantages and disadvantages of the uniform you are wearing, you just need to avoid excessive use. Just use it in an emergency,” Dean suggested.

“Okay. I’ll do it.”

Dean nodded.

“Then, now I will teach you how to shoot a gun,” Dean said then.

“A gun?” Alexa looked at the man a little surprised.

“Yes. You must know that the robot world is equipped with technology and systems, right? I know some history on Earth that during the war only used tools such as swords, spears, arrows and so on. But here, we use weapons such as pistols, or rifles. You must know, the robot uses iron, steel, and so on so that ordinary bullets do not penetrate, so here they use special hugs,” Dean explained.

It was not the content of Dean's explanation that made Alexa silent, but for the first time, the man spoke at length and explained something in detail.

“Do you understand what I explained?” Dean asked.

Alexa nodded quickly.

“Yes. I understand. It's like a game I often see,” said Alexa.

Dean just stared at her.

“Ah, it's okay. I understand what you mean,” said Alexa again.

At least Alexa had played several games with technological weapons to kill enemies so the girl thought that was what was in the robot world today.

"Okay. Then, I will introduce some weapons that we usually use on the battlefield," said Dean while walking towards a wall.

Alexa followed Dean from behind while watching what the man was going to do. Dean pressed something on the wall and then heard the sound of something moving. The wall slowly opened revealing something like a closet. Dean opened one of the doors and Alexa found many weapons neatly arranged inside.

"This is a rifle for shooting from a distance," Dean said while taking one of them.

Alexa didn't find it strange because she had seen it in the virtual game the girl played. There was a serial number and the name of the weapon which was quite long and heavy.

"Try it," Dean said while handing the weapon to Alexa.

The weapon was indeed heavy and Alexa could barely lift it. But the girl then held it firmly.

"I have to aim it at the target, right?" Alexa asked, ready to practice.

Dean nodded his head, smiling faintly at Alexa who seemed used to it.

"Looks like you're used to holding a gun?" Dean commented.

Alexa stared at Dean for a moment and smiled then nodded her head.

“I often practice and play so I guess this is not much different from what I play on Earth,” Alexa answered firmly.

Dean chuckled. The man stood beside Alexa.

“Okay. Then you can find your target, and aim,” Dean ordered.

The girl nodded and looked around. Dean suddenly pressed something from Alexa’s robot uniform collar which then revealed a helmet and earmuffs for protection.

The weapon was indeed not far from what Alexa played on Earth. With the help of a helmet equipped with a system that made it easy for Alexa to lock onto a target, one, two, or even three shots hit the target accurately. Alexa exclaimed happily and began to get used to shooting well.

Dean who was standing beside the girl just watched while occasionally smiling seeing Alexa who seemed to enjoy her training.

Alexa felt that it was enough, then lowered her weapon and pressed the button on the collar, where Dean had done the part before and the helmet that protected Alexa’s head disappeared. The girl turned to Dean with a big smile.

“I think I can do it,” Alexa said.

Dean nodded.

“Cool,” Dean praised, then took the weapon that Alexa was holding and returned it to its original place.

Realizing what Dean was doing, Alexa looked at the other weapons in the cupboard and took one of them.

“If it were on Earth, this would be an arrow,” Alexa said as she took the arrow-shaped weapon.

“Yeah, that’s archery,” Dean replied.

“But where’s the arrow? This is just a bow,” Alexa said, looking confused.

Dean said nothing more and positioned Alexa in front of him.

“Her body position is like when you shoot. Or, maybe you can shoot too?” Dean guessed.

Alexa confirmed it.

“Dad likes archery and horse riding, so I learned that too,” Alexa admitted.

The man chuckled.

“I think you can do a lot of things, Alexa?”

But Alexa was silent.

“Yes, and no,” the girl answered confidently. “I can’t cook, but I can make breakfast and make instant noodles,” Alexa continued.

Continuing to practice with a different weapon, Alexa held the weapon in an archer’s posture that she learned from her father on Earth. However, Dean suddenly held Alexa’s hand, making the girl a little surprised. With a casual movement, Dean strengthened Alexa's grip on the weapon, a bow with a thin string.

"Hold the weapon properly, and focus on the target," Dean said, breaking Alexa who was silent in place.

The girl cleared her throat a little, dispelling the strange feeling in her chest then directed her gaze forward. Dean once again pressed the button on Alexa's collar so that the helmet reappeared and protected the girl.

"The arrow is invisible, you just need to pull the string, and the arrow will appear when you are ready to shoot," Dean informed.

Alexa seemed stiff in her place because of the sudden closeness, even her body and Dean's body touched each other, even though they were both wearing robot uniforms, Alexa could still feel the cold touch from the man.

"Focus and lock your target," Dean's voice sounded again right next to Alexa's ear.

Following Dean's command, Alexa locked several targets in front of her, which were robots for training. The robots in front of them were ready to shoot and Alexa was automatically ready too.

With Dean's help pulling the bowstring tightly, an arrow suddenly appeared that sparkled like ice. When the sound of gunfire from the enemy was heard, Alexa released the arrow.

As soon as the arrow was released and shot, the arrow suddenly split into several arrows then shot even faster and hit the enemy robot in one shot.

Alexa was silent for a moment, amazed by the weapon while widening her eyes and cheering. Alexa did not expect to see the weapon.

"Cool!"

Dean released his grip on Alexa and stepped back.

"Wow! That's great," said Alexa happily.

Dean smiled amusedly seeing the girl's reaction. Luckily they were the only two there.

"The arrows from the bow adjust to the aura that each robot has, including you, Alexa," said Dean. "Your aura is blue. It's water that forms ice, and when the arrow is released, the arrow will automatically split into several arrows and hit the enemy," continued Dean.

Nodding her head, Alexa began to understand the two weapons she saw. Suddenly the girl had an idea.

"Then, can you show me yours?" Alexa asked while looking at Dean.

Returning Alexa's gaze, Dean seemed silent for a moment then nodded and took over the bow in Alexa's hand then prepared to shoot without the protection of the helmet on her head.

Watching what Dean was going to do. Alexa was stunned when she found a pure white arrow with a tail like a goose feather, then Dean released it and the arrow shot quickly split into several parts then hit the enemy robot. Alexa didn't even seem to see the arrow because it was so fast like the wind.

"Wow!" Alexa exclaimed then clapped her hands. "Cool!"

Dean looked back at Alexa because the girl's reaction was a bit strange according to Dean.

"You're great," Alexa praised while giving both thumbs up.

Dean couldn't hold back his smile.

After all, Dean was the commander so it was no wonder he could do that easily even without a protective helmet and with one lightning-fast attack the enemy fell.

"So, all these weapons depend on our uniforms?" Alexa asked.

"Yes," Dean answered briefly.

They both looked at the neatly arranged weapons.

The robot uniform worn by Alexa felt awkward with the system pattern and made it easier for the user. Even so, Alexa still had to practice even though the girl was used to knowing various weapons from the games she played on Earth. However, it seemed like it would be different when Alexa jumped straight into the battlefield. Suddenly the girl remembered the first time she was in the robot world, right under the onslaught of attacks that were directed, attacking each other.

Alexa then continued her training with Dean who would supervise and guard the girl. Alexa did not know that the aura the girl had, a blue aura, was a rare aura.
