THE FORBIDDEN KNOWLEDGE.
CLEON:
“Yes, remember what I told you when you first got here? good is universal, and the goddess is universal. The goddess has ordered me to make sure you complete your mission and return safely to your pack.” Mirabel informed me.
“Also, back at home they are really worried about you, and they think you’re dead and are planning to wage war. I sent them a message through your pack seer, to wait. We have to get you home as soon as possible. Axel and Onias are a sensitive duo.”
Things were finally working out for my good. Mirabel’s presence by my side instilled a newfound confidence within me as we set forth into the night. The darkness wrapped around us like a shroud, but I felt an inner light guiding our steps. With every stride, the weight of uncertainty began to lift, replaced by a resolute determination to uncover the truth that lay hidden within Fawnhide.
As we navigated the labyrinthine streets, Mirabel’s keen intuition led us towards the outskirts of the city, where whispers of the Orhert’s dwelling grew stronger. Shadows danced in the moonlight, their ethereal movements mirroring the secrets that swirled around us.
“you know where it is? The Orhert.”I asked.
“shush, just follow my lead. Memorize these paths for when you come along with your pack.” The place we were in was like a maze, specifically built to confuse people who would come looking for the Orhert.
Fawnhide was truly prepared for us, but with the goddess on our side, we had the upper hand, we had a very huge chance of winning back our Orhert, after all she had blessed us with it, it was only right that she helped us keep it and use it only for good.
JASON:
Days had turned into nights, and with each passing moment, anxiety had twisted our hearts into knots. The absence of Cleon had tested our patience and resolve. But as I stared at the moonlit sky, a flicker of hope ignited within me. The thought of Cleon embarking on a perilous journey to find the Orhert with Mirabel’s guidance reassured me. They were out there, together, seeking the truth that would bring him back to us.
In the depths of the night, Joshua and I remained vigilant, ensuring the safety of our camp while awaiting Cleon’s return. The air was charged with anticipation, as if the very essence of Fawnhide held its breath, awaiting the outcome of our intertwined destinies.
MIRABEL:
The night air whispered ancient secrets, the voices of forgotten spirits echoing through the hidden corners of Fawnhide. I led Cleon deeper into the enigmatic realm, feeling the weight of the Orhert’s presence growing with each step. The city’s secrets began to unravel before our eyes, as if the walls themselves whispered tales of forbidden knowledge.
With cautious determination, we arrived at the edge of a dilapidated structure, its crumbling façade a testament to the passage of time. The aura surrounding it crackled with an otherworldly energy. It was here, within these decaying walls, that the Orhert resided.
CLEON:
We entered the abandoned sanctuary, the air thick with anticipation. As our footsteps echoed through the empty halls, I could sense the weight of ancient wisdom pressing upon us. The Orhert’s sanctuary seemed frozen in time, its walls adorned with faded symbols and cryptic writings.
Drawing upon the power of her seer abilities, Mirabel began deciphering the intricate markings. Her fingers glided over the weathered surface, tracing the lines of forgotten prophecies. The Fawnhide pack Was known for neglecting the goddess, how would they have known if their own damnation were written on their walls?
JOSHUA:
Back at our camp, restlessness consumed us. Mirabel had informed us of the state of things within Fawnhide, and had ordered us to wait but the desire to join Cleon and Mirabel in their quest gnawed at my souk. I could no longer stay idle, confined by the boundaries of uncertainty. Determination burned in my eyes as I made a decision to join Cleon in his quest.
“Jason,” I said, my voice resolute, “we cannot wait any longer. We must follow their path, find Cleon, and stand together as one.”
“Jọshụa, if the goddess has ordered us to wait, then we wait. Nothing good has ever come out of disobeying the goddess.” Jason replied, and he was right — it was enough that the goddess had extended her hands of support towards us in a foreign land, it was enough to make us wait. I went back to my chamber and I’d my time, meditating and exercising.
MIRABEL:
The goddess had shown me the pain Cleon bore in his heart, and how it would eat him up if something did happen to the Orhert. Cleon had been kind to me throughout his stay with me, he was a true gentleman and helped me in doing all my chores —he chopped wood, and did the dishes and insisted on paying me for the food I gave him, because of that, I was also determined to help him find d the Orhert. I was going to die if I was found out, Axel and Onias, the Alpha and Beta of Fawnhide bore no reverence for the goddess —meaning they would kill me without hesitation if they found out that Cleon was a spy and that I had helped him.
After passing through the streets a d mazes, we got to a place where the security was heavier than usual — the entrance to where the Orhert was hidden. It was an arch which was covered by a waterfall. There were ancient runes from our sacred ancestry collection, and in the middle was the bright red marble rune that symbolized, “Forbidden.”
I had cast an invisibility spell on Cleon and, I so we were able to stand for a while and observe our surroundings.
“It’s there, behind that waterfall you will find the Orhert. You must remember the paths, if not all of this would have been in vain.” I warned him, this was a very different delicate mission, one wrong move and everything was going to the dust.
CLEON
We walked back home satisfied and happy. I on my part, was very grateful that I had gotten what I came for. That night, I packed my loads, I was going to leave the next morning as soon as I was allowed to leave. I tossed and turned on my bed, restless and unable to wait for dawn. I wished I had some other way to let Jason and Joshua know everything as soon as possible,Mirabel could not afford to contact them again or her energy would have been sensed.
