Chapter 172 - Wanted by the Alpha Brothers

It was clear that we weren't starting school today because school was canceled. Too many people were concerned about the safety of their children. Apparently this pack has met day walking vampires and didn't want to risk it in case any might be on the land.

So we just sat around the packhouse and I was lost in thought for most of the morning while we were sitting in the living room and I saw the kids running around everywhere. All of the kids. Quinn and Patrick included.

They really did look like they had ADHD but they were just werewolf kids when Ivy came into the room and their kids ran over and jumped on Ivy.

"Regan. The meeting is happening tonight. He insisted that you be there. But there will be a lot of protection so they won't be able to try anything while you're here." Ivy explained.

"Where will the meeting take place?" Noah asked.

"At the border." Ivy replied.

"Outside? Really?" I asked nervously.

"Trust me. You'll be alright. We will have warriors surround us and those vampires know exactly what happens when people come onto our land without permission. I don't think their going to willingly take that chance." Ivy says.

"You don't know that." I say.

"I'm pretty sure that I do." Ivy says.

"Trust her. If Ivy has a gut instinct, you usually go with it. Because it's always right." Freya says.

I was walking for the rest of the day in a daze and I didn't really know what I was doing or where I was going. What the hell was I meant to do or say to my father when I met him. I can't do this. I really don't know what the hell I was meant to do.

Noah knew how nervous I was. He knew that I was terrified and I didn't want to confront my father. Not after they attacked us last night. They looked vicious and scary and they were after me. My father sent those men after me and I don't believe that he will be there alone. Just like we won't be there alone.

I didn't know how everyone else seemed so calm. I saw Ivy in the garden outside the window holding the baby and playing with her kids trying to kill time before the meeting. And everyone else was just wandering around casually, like it was something that they were completely used to.

I decided to go outside and I went to the garden where Ivy was and she invited me to sit down next to her.

"These kids are so sweet." I say.

"Yeah. We love coming out here every day. This is our place to play." Ivy says.

"I don't want to intrude or anything." I say.

"No. It's fine. You're not intruding. But I can tell that something is on your mind." She says.

"I'm just worried about tonight. That man sent those men to kill us last night and now we're going to have a meeting with him." I say.

"No. He sent those men to kill me and Asher. Not you. He'd never hurt you. He wants you." She says.

"Alright. Do you know why?" I asked.

"Because you're special. And he wants to use that for evil." She says.

"How am I special though?" I asked.

"I believe that you might have special abilities like I have. But you only just shifted. So, you don't know what those abilities are yet and no one can tell you when they're going to start coming out in you." Ivy explained.

"Were you scared when you started getting your gifts?" I asked.

"A little. But only at first. Once you learn to control them then you'll be alright." She says.

"Alright. I hope so." I say.

"I know so." She says looking right at me.

"Isn't anyone scared about tonight?" I asked.

"Not really. This is kind of what we do." She says.

"That's what I thought. Everyone is acting so calm and relaxed. I can't do that." I explained.

"It'll be alright. You just need to trust me." She says.

"I do." I say.

So that night we all had dinner together and then Ivy and Asher went to get the kids bathed and dressed ready for bed, and they both got changed as well so they could go wandering through the woods at night time as well.

When they came back downstairs Ivy gave instructions to Fiona, Freya and Zara who were watching the kids. Told them where all the kids were and everything and they were fine with it. It looked like they were the designated babysitters.

When it was time to go Asher grabbed Ivy's hand and walked out of the packhouse and we followed behind Beau, Cole and Axel. Noah was squeezing my hand as hard as I was squeezing his. And we were having a lot of trouble trying to keep up in the dark. They knew these woods, we didn't.

But we eventually got to the border and I didn't see any warriors around and that made me nervous. It was just us 7 and no one else in sight.

"Don't worry baby. I can hear the warriors. They're here. They're just not showing themselves." Noah whispered to me. And I nodded nervously at him.

Suddenly out of nowhere a dozen figures appeared in front of us. They ran at the speed of light and stopped just as fast without even being out of breath. I just took a step back but they were standing just on the other side of the border.

The man standing in front of them looked to be in his late 20's with brown hair and chiseled features and tall. He was good looking except for his crimson red eyes. That was the only thing to tell him apart from a human right now.
