RICHARD’S POV
“I need to do something urgently Kayla, once I’m done you and I are going to spend all day together okay?”
There was nothing urgent to check , u just wanted to be away from Kayla for a while, and since Lena was still in my thoughts , I needed to see what she was doing.
“Can’t we leave together?, I’d love to see what you are doing, I promise not to disturb.” She pouted and held me tight
“I know you’ll be a good girl Kayla, but you are always a distraction to me,I can never get myself to focus whenever you are around me.”
“That’s sweet, alright I’ll be in here waiting for you and avoiding your mother’s trouble, promise not to take too long.”
“I won’t baby.” I kissed her lightly before leaving.
I was about to twist Lena’s doorknob when my mother stopped me.
“Come now son, we need to talk”
“What is it now Mother, can’t I have a single moment of peace without you ruining it.”
“As long as you are under my roof? No you won't, until you are ready to start acting like a grownup.”
“You mean our house?.”
“Whatever you choose to call it, join me in my room will you.”
I hadn't been in my mothers room and in ages, maybe it was mainly because of the fact that my dad and mum had most of their moments in that room and the three of us were just perfect. And then now she was gone and all that place did was haunt me of the fact that i was never going to see him for a while.
“Seat son.”
“I prefer to remain standing.”
“It that makes you happy, do as you please. What do you think you are doing bringing Kayla into our room and i hear she's planning to stay too, do you think this place is a motel where whores can freely walk in and stay”
“Tell me mum, i mean you brought Lena, so maybe it is.”
“Lena is not a whore son, why have you chosen to remain blind and in the dark?”
“I don't know mum, maybe you'll have an answer do that, but what i do know is that Kayla is supposed to be my wife and she has every right that Lena does, get used to it.”
“I wont, how do you think Lena would feel if she sees that, ages carrying your child a d she's already been through a lot, why do you have to do this?”
“Look mum, if you have nothing better to discuss, i would like to return back to what i was doing, i am busy.”
“Busy with what exactly?? You know its really funny, you keep saying you are in love with Kayla and now that she is in your room, you are going to search for Lena, that says a lot.”
“Or maybe I am trying to make sure she's not up to stupid things.”
“You know it's not bad to admit that you are starting to take interest in her, it will cost you nothing.”
“No it won't mum, but i would be lying to you, and you know me, i don't lie.”
I walked out of the room without giving her a chance to end the conversation, i didn't like where it was heading to and i hated the fact that she was right. Kayla was with me and i still had flashbacks from my time with Lena the previous day. I tried to turn her doorknob agsin and it was locked. I took the courtesy to knock thus time around. I didn't understand why but i suddenly cared about how she will view me if i started to force the door. After knocking for a while and i was getting no response i finally forced the door open and there she was sitting calmly like nothing was happening.
“Are you serious? I have been knocking and you didn't think you should say something until i finally broke the lock?”
“Oh I'm sorry, i had earphones plugged in. Is there an issue?”
“Oh there might be if you keep acting the way you are. What the hell is wrong with you, do you think you an just act the way you want and iwull not do anything. You are starting to forget who i am and what i can do, don't push me else i will show you the side you hate to see.”
“I apologize once again, i will pay more attention next time. Maybe try and turn down the volume of what I'm listening to always even if i am plugged in.”
She was apologizing, instead of trying to defend herself lime she usually did all she was doing now was making sure i didn't get riled up, and i didn't like it.
“Why are you sweating so much?, you've not been out have you?
“Definitely not, you can check the cameras, I've been indoors since my session with Freya.I don't know, i think it has something to do with the pregnancy though, Freya mentioned it.”
“Oh you had a session with Freya?, what did age say about the baby?”
“Yoi suddenly cafe about the bastard child? Well that's a miracle.”
“I don't, and if the pregnancy is going to keep making you have weird symptoms then you should just abort it, i don't think there's any point in keeping it if you ask me.”
“You weren't asked Richard, but thanks for your beautiful contribution ill be sure to tell our child that its father opted for an abortion while it was a foestus.”
“Goodluck with that, and since you had a chitchat with Freya, what did she say about me?”
“Oh not much, just the usual thing that any same person would say about you. Nothing i have seen or heard before.”
“Listen if i find out that you two are planning some sort of conspiracy against her then i promise you that i will kill you and all that your baby will know about you is the you were the queen that ran the south side and you were never certain about the father.”
“Oh also add that I never really wanted to get married to you and yet somehow I was forced by my stupid parents to do so and even if you never liked me, you still wanted me to remain by your side. In summary tell the child your were attached to me”
“I am not attached to you, I couldn’t care less about you”
“And somehow you are in my room when your mistress is in yours waiting for you.”
“You are trying to play a quick one on me but I’m not going to allow it okay?, I am not releasing you. And Kayla is not my mistress, if anyone should be given that position or title then it should be you, you stole from her.”
“Stole?, I was never interested, she can have you, I don’t want you.”
It hurt me when she uttered those statements, almost shattered my heart and I could understand the feeling, I didn’t want to be vulnerable with Lena of all persons.
“It’s fine if you don’t want me, at least I have people who do. You know I recently found that even your sister is a part of that long list of people that are interested in me. But you see you, no one has ever been interested in you, and no one ever will. You are my mistake. Even your parents couldn’t wait to get rid of you.”
“Don’t bring my parents into this”
“Why should I?, I’m sure mother didn’t tell you the reason you are still here right?, the only votes that was needed for you to have the freedom you crave so much was supposed to be from your parents and they sold that to me. You are not loved and wanted, so it should be a pleasure that I am keeping you around.”
With that I left in her own world to feel all that was supposed to be felt, the pain that came with rejection from someone that you cared about, I wanted her to feel pain and hate me even more, and I wouldn’t have to feel bad when I was punishing her. Kayla was on a call when I got back to the room but as soon as she noticed my presence she ended it
“Who was that?,” I questioned
“No one important. You promised that you weren’t going to take time, what were you doing.”
I knew she had lied to me, so lying back was not an issue.
“Since I’d be staying in today, I had to take some calls from the office and cancel all appointments fixed for today”
“Perfect, now what are we doing today? First of all I am famished, I need to eat.”
“I’m sure the cooks have something prepared, let’s eat and we can return here.”
“Yes please.”
We went to the dining room to eat and Lena was there picking at her food and selecting off the olives. I felt bad that I had gotten her in that mood and I really wanted to console her. I was still staring at her when Kayla yelled my name.
“Are you even listening to me?”
“Yes I am babe, I am sorry could you repeat what you said.” I answered weakly
“I don’t want to eat on the same table with this wretched human and the bastard in her womb”
“Can you stop the unnecessary drama?”
I scolded her for the first time and I saw the shock in her reaction….
