Chapter 54 Beach Day

Chapter 54 Beach Day
\[Lilia\]

We are shown to our room by one of Kael's men. He mentioned that Aya and I will be staying in the same room, which is a piece of news that had me jumping with joy. At the very least, I won’t be bored to death staring at the ceiling, or much worse, I’ll start talking to myself.

Kael seemed to have forgotten all about me since our arrival as both he and Val went on to whatever business they had to do here in Italy. Since I don't have a phone, I have no idea what area of the nation we are in at the time. Nonetheless, the sights along the shore are breathtaking and captivating.

“Which one should I wear?” My train of thought was abruptly forced to a halt when Aya's voice rang out, and I turned my attention immediately to her. I raised both of my eyebrows as I looked at the swimsuits that she had brought up.

She held a red two-piece in her right hand and a yellow one-piece suit in the other. They were both beautiful, but I know she would still look absolutely stunning in either of the two. However, I know if I say that to her, she will only insist on letting me pick the one she will wear, having her reasons that it was all mine and she’s only borrowing it.

Which I find totally absurd. I obviously don’t own any of these things.

“You’ll look absolutely stunning in red,” I eventually said. Given that she has a fair complexion, the color red would complement her appearance extremely well.

We had just finished unpacking our things, and Aya suggested that we should check the beach. Earlier, we saw the caretaker of this place and asked if it was safe to go for a swim, and he said yes, as long as we both know how to swim. He also added that this season is best for a beach vacation, and we were very thrilled to hear that part.

Kael wasn’t here, and it’s not like we're going somewhere else, so I guess it won’t be an issue if we’re are going to enjoy ourselves. If not, why would he tag us along with this trip if he won’t allow us a bit of leisure?

Right?

Oh, I hope I am not wrong.

“What about yours?” Aya queried, piling another set of choices for me.

I look at the plethora of swimwear in various colors and designs. No wonder why she packed so much on this trip. I say this woman had seer blood in her veins. She just knows exactly what outfit to bring in every situation without actually knowing where the location prior.

“Maybe this one,” I said, shaking the thoughts out of my head and picking up the color black bathing suit.

It is a one-piece suit but had an illusion of a two-piece, connected by a bangle on the side and intricate straps that went crisscrossing around the mid-waist, then a bikini bottom.

Aya’s grin broadened on her face as she gathered the other swimsuit that didn’t get picked and started shoving them back into the zip bag where she kept them.

“Master Kael will surely go crazy after he sees you wearing in that,” she preened and then winked at me with her knowing smile. I only laugh at her reaction and shake my head, debunking her notion of Kael going heads over heels.

“Not that he hadn’t already seen all of me,” I say, shifting my attention from her down to the swimwear I have chosen and checking the seams in case there were any faulty sewn.

“Really, girl? Care to share in details?” Her brows lifted even higher, bobbing them teasingly, and her chinky eyes widened a little, but then all her amusement faded in an instant, following her inquisition about the first time I had with Kael. “He didn’t force you this time, did he?”

She saw me all bruised up the following day Kael violated me. Like a broken bird stripped off its wings and could never fly again. I couldn’t say that I have forgotten everything, but let’s just say I am in a recovering phase. There wasn’t much I could do to change my past, and the future awaits me, but at least now, I have learned how to accept things and ride on the present.

I still hate him, though. Nothing had changed.

“No, it’s not like that,” I sigh, turning my eyes back to her.

“So, you like it?” She quipped, tilting her head expectantly, her face lit up with curiosity.

“Well—” I trailed off, not knowing how I would respond to her question. Just then, the image of what happened in the plane came forth to my mind, prompting my face to burn again. I tried to hide my blush, but I don’t think Aya had not noticed my flaming cheek as her mouth dropped wide and gasps loudly.

“Oh, gosh! Was he that big?” She exclaimed, bouncing on the mattress.

“Aya!” I immediately chided her, throwing her a warning look.

She was so loud that I thought the other side of the villa could hear us conversing over lewd topics and even more, eliciting my face to burn hotter.

“Yeah, right, don’t share it with a virgin,” she groused playfully, and what she said immediately caught my attention and snapped my head towards her.

“You’re a what?” I gaped at her in disbelief.

All this time, I thought I was the only one with no experience here, well, not anymore, but in my case, my innocence had been sold to Kael, while Aya stayed that way on purpose when she could obviously have any man she wanted. Not that I have a say in whatever it is that she chooses a cause that is her decision, but I can only say…I did not expect it.

“You heard it, don’t make me repeat myself,” Aya only looked at me, and her expression suddenly became solemn as though she was trying to hide her emotions. That is then I knew something was wrong.

“I’m sorry, Aya. I didn’t mean it, but may I know why?” I studied her face, and she wasn’t looking at me directly. She only had her head hang low, her fingers playing the strings of her bathing suit, and her lips pressed tightly. I didn’t want to be nosy about it, but then I realized something.

“You like someone,” I whispered, and I suddenly felt bad upon thinking that my dearest friend has something about unrequited love, or like, infatuation, perhaps? I don’t know, but that should not be an issue.

Not liking this conversation wearing our gleefulness, I immediately hopped off the bed and skipped to her side, pulling her out of the bed. She looked at me with bemusement, but I only smiled at her.

“You know what? We are in a different country, spending the day cooped up in this bed is not going to advance our situation in any way. Should we hit the beach?”

I say and drag her to the bathroom and change to our bathing suit with one thing I have in mind, to find out who this person captured Aya’s heart.
