Chapter 34 Discovery

Chapter 34 Discovery
\[Lilia\]

I still can’t believe Kael spent so much money on that type of stone. Well, it is actually a rare diamond in vivid color pink, as it was explained why it has become so expensive. It just hurts me that a piece of stone—beautiful at that—even cost more than a life of a person, and it sickens me.

But, who am I to object? I have no say in this place. I am merely an object used for entertainment, a decoration to be flaunted for everyone to see.

As I push all of those dismal thoughts out of my mind, I direct my focus towards the stage, where the circus was doing death-defying acrobatics as part of their closing ceremony to express gratitude to all of the purchasers who participated in today’s auction. Honestly, to say the least, I say that I am entertained. Those fire breathers, hula-hoops jumpers, and contortionists bending their bodies inside out, making me wonder where they put their bones?

I was enjoying the show when I suddenly felt something terrible. My bladder is knocking down my urethra, raising the fine hairs on my arms and neck with a ghostly touch. Where the hell is the comfort room in this place? Of all places where mother nature calls, why here?

Anxiety builds as I frantically dart my attention around the venue, hoping to spot any signs indicating the location of the restroom. However, due to excessive lighting from the stage, it's impossible for me to see more than five meters away from where I'm currently sitting without squinting. Ice-cold beads of sweat dripped down my spine, and shivers raced up the back of my neck as my face became flushed with scarlet. I looked up to Val, but he was too focused on watching the performance to even cast me a glance, and I was too stubborn to turn to Kael for help. However, I can’t just soil myself. Even just the thought of it is very much humiliating to bear.

My legs were trembling and my lower gut clenched as if a hellhound had poked it in the stomach. There were visible bumps on my arms, and I was fighting off another wave of shivers, which I painfully failed to do, and I started squirming as I squeezed my legs even more together. The worst part is that my nose started to tickle, which made me think I was about to sneeze.

Oh gosh! This is really torture.

I wanted to turn to Val, but he was far across the table and a few feet away from me. Swallowing my pride and stubbornness, I tug Kael’s feet. I felt him shift on his seat and lean slightly down on me. I forced myself to look at him, straining my neck as I pressed down my palm on my lower abdomen.

“I needed to go to the comfort room,” I whispered, pushing down the clawing shame gnawing on my chest.

He only peered down at me, moving his eyes while his face was straight-up ahead towards the stage as the performance went on, and the audience erupted in applause when a large flame spewed from the performer's mouth. I bite down my lips, waiting for his response until he snaps his fingers, and I instantly catch the attention of the butler who assisted us a while ago.

The butler dipped his head, and Kael cups his hand on his mouth, whispering towards him. The butler only nodded his head and turned his attention towards me. He came to my side and helped me get on my feet. My knees were trembling, and if only I knew the way, I could have sprinted for my dear life just to get to the comfort room.

“This way miss,” The butler escorted me to a section where the number of people in the audience was dwindling. Then right along the wall where the other pets had been placed. Their leashes were tied on a hook mounted on the concrete wall. Envy flashed across their gazes as they saw me pass them. If only I wasn’t in a toilet emergency, I would have stopped and talked to them, but on second thought, I wouldn’t get that chance to even go near them.

A thought occurred to me in the spur of the moment. Is it even permissible for them to use the rest room facilities? And my heart clenches at the thought if ever they weren’t allowed.

“We’re here, miss,” the butler suddenly announces right after we take another turn right, and at the end of the hallway are two rose-gold colored doors with toilet signage. One for male and one for female.

“Thank you,” I didn’t wait for him to respond. I helped myself inside the door. My attention immediately went to the nearest open cubicle. Rushing in and took the underwear thing Aya made me wear, and dumped all my liquid waste into the bowl, moaning in relief as I emptied my bladder.

I noticed that someone had come inside. On the gap underneath the door was a shadow, though I could not discern if it was a man or a woman. Now that it came to me, had I gone to the right gender-appropriate comfort room? Is this for the woman’s room? I reach for the toilet paper and wipe myself clean, gingerly standing up, putting the wired underwear back in place as I strained my ear, listening to if I could hear a woman’s voice or if it was a man.

How can I be so stupid for not checking first which door was for females and males? However, all I could hear was the sound of a gushing liquid, followed by the flushing of water.

Thinking that it’ll be useless for me to stay here inside the cubicle, I slowly unlocked the door and went out, my gaze roaming around but seeing nothing. Then I noticed the interior design of the whole comfort room. Sighing in relief upon seeing that the design is very feminine. Rose-gold tones dominate the entire space, with white and silver accents to add a touch of contrast. The design gives the impression that I've been transported back to the sixteenth century.

Fortunately, this put my mind at ease.

My attention went towards the mirror panel as I caught a glimpse of myself, then frowned at what I was seeing. The first thing that my eyes laid upon was the sparkling diamond collar rounding my neck. The pendant dangling in the center reflects the light from the fluorescent. The next thing I noticed was the makeup that Aya had covered my bruises. Faint purplish marks are starting to resurface on my shoulders and arms. My lips were still swollen, and my face looked so stressed. Thankfully, however, my hair wasn't too messed up, and my dress magically remained in place without rising up to my waist.

One of the cubicle doors suddenly opened, jolting me to my feet, and I looked through the mirror at the woman who emerged from it.

She wore fishnet tights, knee-high-heeled slick black boots, and very short shorts that could easily be mistaken as a bikini, then she wore nothing on her top except for a piece of bra and a garter harnessed on the curve of her waistline. Her spirally hair runs down to her lower back and is swept to the side with a black clip fastened in place to keep it looking polished. She had a complete blast on makeup, sharp contours that could cut through anything, fiery red plump lips, rich smokey eyeshadows, and winged lash line capped with black eyeliners, and thick lashes framing the gray colors of her irises. Hence underneath those layers of cosmetics, I could still see her beautiful natural face, and she had the most gorgeous tan skin.

Her gaze was immediately drawn to my reflection, and I quickly fixed a friendly smile on her face, attempting to be courteous.

The first thing she did was glance at me from head to toe, then her gaze drifted to the back of my collar, where she focused on the golden tag with Kael's name inscribed on it, before returning her gaze to my face and cocking her head to the side as she peered at me with scrutiny.

“So, you’re the king’s new pet…”

That was more of a statement than a question.
