Chapter 23 Object

Kael wrapped my body in a bundle of the thick, fluffy towel before he lifted me up and walked out of the bathroom. I look like a toddler when I am in his arms. My entire height does not even reach his chest; therefore, I am essentially a child in comparison to him. It's no surprise that he refers to me as his кукла (kukla), his doll... or that because he sees me as his leisure, his favorite toy to play with when he’s bored.
The thought causes a sharp pain to strike me in the chest that I can't seem to shake. I have to swallow hard to keep the sobs from erupting and blink my eyes repeatedly to keep my vision from becoming blurred. I also made a conscious effort to keep my breathing steady so he wouldn't notice my depressed state of mind.
He gently put me down on the bed, my feet dangling over the end, and then he took another towel that was slung across his shoulders and dried my hair.
None of us had spoken since our conversation at the tub, although the tension blanketing between us was palpable.
Plus, he still had an evident hard-on.
I am literally perched on top of the bed, and he is standing right in front of me. Since I am blessed with such short height, I could clearly see the massive tent bulging on the towel wrapped around his waist and the plunging v-line that disappeared through the fluffy fabric.
I still could not imagine that that thing had gone inside me... roughly and hard, and I had to avert my gaze away from it and clear my head from those unholy things running through my mind.
I noticed him looking at my discarded dress, and my face immediately burned with humiliation as he went to pick up my torn underwear. His face seemed straight and emotionless, but his eyes preened as though he was proud of what he had done.
“Stay here,” Kael commanded abruptly and firmly, fisting my underwear in his hands as he turned away, going to the closet in such a stately manner.
I stared at his fading image, glaring at his shrinking back until the door completely obscured my vision.
“Hah, as if I had anywhere else to go,” I muttered, clutching the towel secure around my body to maintain any vestiges of modesty I might have had left, despite the fact that I already knew there were none.
A heavy scowl lingered on my face at the notion. It hurts, but I can’t do anything about it. My cheeks blended with a crimson flush.
What the hell was he going to do with my torn underwear?
Not a moment later, Kael came back, and for some reason, my back snapped in alert as though the man who had bathed me a while ago was now gone and the beast that I am scared of had come back to terrorize me again.
A matched pair of nightgowns and matching underpants were dangling from his fingers.
Without saying anything, he grasped both of my wrists in his and pulled them above my head, and with a single tug, the towel that had been covering my body was ripped from my shoulders. Kael put the dress on me. Mossy green eyes fixed on my face while he was dressing me up, and I couldn’t even protest whatever he was doing with my body.
A grim thought enters my mind as I carefully watch him, so transfixed.
I am his кукла (kukla).
I used to play with кукла (kukla) when I was a little girl. When my mama is still alive, and my father is still sober.
This is exactly how you play with a кукла (kukla). Dressed it up. Making sure that it always looks good and beautiful, and prepping it like a princess.
Just like me.
I thought I would be sleeping down in a basement, but instead, he put me in this spacious room with all the lavish comfort it brings, but that doesn’t change the fact that I am no more than an object to his eyes.
It's just a piece of thing with no real worth.
Well, a million dollars, but still. He wasn’t considering me as a human, just his possession he bought.
The center of his temporary pleasure. His leeway from the cruelties of the world that he revolves with. Sooner, when he finally realizes that I am no longer useful to him, I am confident that he will completely forget about my existence and will never have a single notion that I happened to come into his life at all. Even though he didn't say anything, he made certain that the message was clearly understood by me.
A heavy feeling coiled on my stomach, and I dared to meet his mossy eyes. He was right when he said that I am attracted to him, as much as I wanted to deny him despite the fact that I hate him with all my being. Nonetheless, after all this, if ever I survive in this personal hell of mine, I still wanted to be free. To start anew. Far away from this place.
I bit down my lips hard, ignoring the pain blasting from the wounds he gave me as I mustered up my courage and then spoke.
“When the time comes, and you’ll get tired of me, can you at least set me free?”
Suddenly, he became stiff, his fingers hanging over the strap of my dress as he was tying it into a knot to keep it from falling down my shoulders. My query was presented to him unexpectedly, yet I was unable to determine what he was thinking as he had mastered the art of concealing his emotions behind an ice-cold visage. Though I did not fail to notice the flicker of unknown emotion came fleeting on his gaze, and my breath came to a halt. My heart pounded against the inside of my chest as icy shivers of fear rushed down my spine. I was waiting for him to blow up and punch me in the face, but it never happened.
Instead, he just took the wet towels from my bed and tossed them on the couch next to him.
“Sleep now, кукла (kukla).” That was all he said as he walked over to my bedside table and turned the lampshade down to a low light setting.
I followed his movement for a while as he began picking up his clothes.
“Answer me.” I croaked, my voice almost strangling on the back of my throat from anxiousness. However, I'm not sure how far I can press him to provide an explanation, but it appears that my good fortune hasn't deserted me at this point. Unfortunately, it arrived too late for me to use it before he violated me.
Kael went to pick up his shirt, and then he stood straight. I thought he would never answer me as he turned his back and began walking towards the door. However, he suddenly halted his steps and spoke.
“I’ll be dead before you can leave out of my sight once again.” He tilted his head slightly to his shoulder but didn’t look in my direction.
“Heal now and take a rest.”
With that, he left, leaving me distraught.
