CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT: Time to Finalize the Second Plan.

DAMIEN'S POV

I walked towards the popcorn and soda stand as I asked for my package and the girls attending to me started to blush instead. What was wrong with ladies these days?

“Excuse me? I paid for a large bowl of popcorn and two soda bottles but I didn't get it yet. Can I get it now?” I handed her the receipt and she blinked at me cutely as she placed her hand on mine, causing me to pull away in repulsion.

“Who's the second soda bottle for?” She purred as she handed me the bowl of popcorn and soda bottles and I couldn't help the feeling of repulsion that took over me at her actions.

“My wife. You seem very dumb to work here.” I said as I picked up the package and her smile immediately faded into a frown.

How do they just throw themselves at any handsome man they see? She wasn't even my type anyway. How annoying.

I walked back to our seat only to see Elena talking to a stranger who was now sitting on my seat. I couldn't control the anger that surged through my body as I marched over to their side and Elena glanced up at me with excitement written all over her face.

“Damien, good news!” She whispered as she gestured for me to come sit but I raised a brow at the person now sitting on my chair.

“Where am I supposed to sit? And who's he? Why is he sitting on my chair?” I asked in anger and she immediately stood up as she made me sit on her chair instead before she sat on my lap.

Luckily, our seat was at the back so we weren't blocking anyone's view or causing a ruckus for anyone.

“Why are you talking to another man, Elena? And you're happy talking to him? Why did he wait for me to leave before he approached you?” I asked, the anger radiating from within me and she simply facepalmed as she pinched my nose.

I didn't want to admit that I was jealous but I was. I couldn't bear to see her with anyone else that wasn't me. It had my blood boiling.

“First of all, she's a lady disguised as a man so that she could talk to me. Secondly, she approached me after you were gone because you're very scary and she was scared you'd say something mean to her. Stop imagining crazy things, I would never cheat on you.” She replied as she placed a soft kiss on my lips and I rolled my eyes even though I was pleased deep within me.

“So, why is she dressed as a guy?” I asked in confusion and she turned to face me as she started to explain what happened to me.

“Remember when I started to search for evidence about Lucas? I went back to the hotel where he died to see if I could find any hidden footage, but there was none.” She said and I nodded for her to continue.

“Okay?”

“But I had asked for her help. She works as a receptionist at the hotel, and I promised that if she ever gets into trouble, we'll take responsibility for her.” She continued and my brows shot up in shock at her words as I glanced at the so-called girl beside me.

“How do we take responsibility for her?”

“Well, give her a job or something! Oh, and we'll take pictures with her as well. Don't interrupt me again. So, she dug deeper and helped us search her boss's office. Guess what she found? A USB containing the hidden footage of what happened ten years ago. Isn't that good news?” She said excitedly as she held up the USB drive to my face and a smile broke out on my face as well.

“You've always been so damn smart… That's one of the reasons I love you.” I said and she froze for a moment as she stared at me wide-eyed. Her face flushed to a bright shade of pink as she buried her face in my chest.

“Thank you, well, Miss. If you ever need help, don't forget to contact my wife. Don't ever get yourself into trouble either. This… is deeply appreciated.” I said with a hint of gratitude in my tone and she immediately waved it off before she stood up.

“My work here is done, I should leave before I get caught.” She said as she walked away hurriedly, and Elena moved to stand up, but I stopped her.

“Where do you think you're going?”

“To the other chair. Aren't you uncomfortable?” She asked and I immediately shook my head in disagreement.

“Remain like this until the movie ends. You can eat the popcorn as well.” I said grumpily and she chuckled softly before picking up the bowl of popcorn as she started to eat.

“So, what's the next step? This USB drive could contain a lot of evidence that'll push us to the winning ground.” She said with her mouth full of popcorn and I popped open the bottle of soda before handing it to her.

“We'll take it slow. Revenge is best served when cold. We'll start by tearing down their reputation and then breaking them apart. We'll attack their support team next and make sure they're alone at the end. After that, we'll deliver the final blow. Boom, just like that.” I explained as she gulped down the contents of the bottle before nodding in understanding of what I said.

“That sounds so slay. I love it. I can't wait to see the look on their faces when they realize that their truth couldn't be hidden for too long. I need to see them suffer for everything they did to poor Lucas and me.” She mumbled with a resolve I've never seen before and the fire in her eyes made me love her even more.

She was just too perfect.

“Damien?”

“Yeah?”

“Would you leave me after the contract ends? After we've had our revenge, will it be game over for us?”
