CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE: Denying Everything That Happened.
ELENA'S POV
My eyes slowly fluttered open as the morning light streamed into my room, and I decided to make its bed on my face. I turned away from the light and my eyes widened in horror when I saw Damien lying beside me.
Then it all came rushing to me like a damn waterfall. We had sex last night. Not just any kind of sex, not the kind that I and Adrian had. It was the most sensual experience I've ever had in my entire life.
I lost count of how many times I came last night. I remembered passing out and then waking up only for us to continue from where we had stopped. We were like wild animals…
I winced when I felt the soreness on the lower half of my body. He sure had a lot of energy even though he was injured… I moved to rest my head on my palm and I couldn't help but trace my fingers lightly over his facial features. He was so damn handsome…
I felt him stir and I immediately laid back on the bed as I closed my eyes like I was still sleeping. How was I supposed to face him after what we did last night? I was unhinged… and it was embarrassing.
I felt his hand rake through my hair as he gently pushed my hair away from my face before placing a soft kiss on my forehead. I stiffened at his intimate actions and I could feel my heart pounding wildly as he got off the bed.
The door closed and my eyes flew open as I placed my hand on my forehead, my mind reeling with millions of crazy thoughts. When and why did he become so intimate with me?
I didn't know how long I lay there as I stared at the ceiling blankly, but the door suddenly opened, and Damien walked in with a small bag of pills in his hands.
“How do you feel?” He asked, and I considered ignoring him, but what good will it give me? We simply did what adults would do on a normal day so why should I be embarrassed?
“A little bit sore, but I'm fine,” I said softly, a hint of awkward tension in my voice and he seemed to notice as he smiled gently at me.
“About last night…” He started but I didn't let him complete his words.
“Last night was an accident.” I blurted out and he glanced up at me in surprise as the bag in his hand fell to the ground, startling us both.
“What?”
“We both know we only did all that because of how I felt yesterday. I was sad and you wanted to comfort me. That's all there is to it. It doesn't change anything between us, you know that.” I said with my eyes fixed on the ground and he was silent for a while as his eyes tried to read my expression.
“Is that all it was to you? You think I did all that because you were sad?” He asked softly and I could hear the uncertainty in his voice. However, I nodded and he let out a bitter chuckle as he picked up the bag that fell.
“What else will it be? Our contract is nothing but a business deal, having sex definitely wasn't part of it. So we can only ignore the fact that we did that and remember what our goal is.” I said softly and he scoffed in amusement before handing me the small bag.
“Sure, whatever you say. Take this, it'll help with the soreness.” He said calmly as he stood up and left the room immediately while I sat there wondering if I had made the right decision.
I couldn't let him know that I was already falling for him… and I couldn't trust him either. We were nothing but a business deal, and I knew that he'd throw me to the side once he got what he wanted.
I just couldn't risk it. I wouldn't repeat the same mistakes ever again. But there was something in the way he looked at me… the way he kissed my forehead… the way he spoke to me gently.
It made my heart weaken against him, and the walls I tried desperately to build kept crumbling when it came to him.
“Come out for breakfast, Elena.” I heard him say, and my eyes widened as I immediately got off the bed, but before I could take a step forward, I found myself on the ground.
Fuck it, my waist hurt, my butt hurts, even my legs wouldn't stop quivering. And yet I kept begging him not to stop last night… I shook the thought out of my head but I couldn't get his intoxicating groans out of my mind. I suddenly wanted him again…
Damien rushed inside the room and when he saw me on the floor, he immediately helped me back on the bed.
“Stay here, I'll bring breakfast to you. Don't move, alright?” He said as he left the room and returned in a few seconds with a tray of toasted bread, scrambled eggs, and a cup of coffee.
“You made all these?” I asked in surprise as he placed it on the table and he nodded in response while I just gaped at him in shock.
Even with one hand, he still managed to make breakfast… Whoever was going to be this man's real wife was the luckiest woman on earth. A pang of jealousy shot through me when I realized that I didn't want to see him with anyone that isn't me.
“Dig in. It'll help you heal faster so you can take the pills I bought.” He said as he took a seat beside me and I glanced at him for a moment before digging into the breakfast.
“Do you do this for every girl you've had sex with?” I mumbled softly and he chuckled softly before nodding and my face twisted into a scowl as I gulped down the coffee
“Since you're my first, then yes.” He said and I choked on the coffee I was drinking as I stared at him in shock.
