Chapter 72: Attempt to finalize the divorce

Anne turned to Lear and told her about Sandra’s pregnancy.

“I suppose I’ve just become a prophet. I mean, I’m being honest. Don’t you wish to accompany me to your pregnant sister’s new home?” Lear was amused by her remarks. She appeared astonished when she learned about her sister’s pregnancy.

“You mean, in just one night, the billionaire turned my sister into a mother?” Lear laughed after telling a joke.

“I am coming with you.” she continued after noticing her mother’s surprised expression. "I’m hoping she’s no longer the Sandra I can play with. How are we getting to the Westgate neighborhood?” Anne did not respond. Instead, she called her daughter to find out when she wanted them to come visit her. While she was in the kitchen, the phone rang on its own. It was left in Mark’s bedroom. He chose to answer because it had rung multiple times. His phone rang also just as he was going to answer Sandra’s phone, and he grabbed it and glanced at them while they rang since he didn’t know which one to answer first. His mother-in-law called Sandra’s phone as his ex-wife called his phone. Sandra heard two phones ring as though there was a contest. She walked into the bedroom with two glasses of grape juice for herself and Mark. She was stunned when she noticed Mark holding her phone and his phone, which was ringing.

“I’m not sure which one to answer first. Your mother is phoning on the other line, and my ex-wife is calling on mine.” Sandra laughed but said nothing when Mark spoke up. She placed two glass cups full of juice on the bedroom coffee table, then she took her phone from Mark and answered it. Mark also answered his phone call, and they spoke on the phone.

“Why does it take so long for you to return my calls? Is everything okay by your side?” While Anne was asking Sandra about it while she took too long to answer the phone, Gwen was asking Mark the same question. The couple was sitting on their freshly purchased twelve-bedroom house’s king-size bed. Mark accidentally put his phone on the speakers, yet he struggled to respond to Gwen’s query.

“It’s Mark, not I, mother. He was the one who kept clutching the phones as if he enjoyed hearing them ring.” Gwen heard what Sandra said and knew Mark was deeply in love with Sandra.

Sandra asked, “Why are you looking at me like that?” She then smiled at Mark’s fearful expression on her face.

“Mark, I hear everything. Nothing makes any sense. We haven’t finalized the divorce yet. I can induce a delay till you lose faith in Sandra and dump her the same way you pumped me. Ladies are going to distract you, baby boy.” Sandra heard Gwen speak through Mark’s phone. The comments she made had enraged her. She dropped the call she was on with her mother and grabbed Mark’s phone, but he refused due to the anticipated conflict between the two ladies. He jumped from the bed and stood next to it, but he did not switch off the loudspeaker.

Sandra followed him and exclaimed, “What is going on, Mark? How long has this woman been talking like that?” Mark didn’t respond, but he frowned at Sandra and clutched his phone to his chest as if it were his baby.

“You have achieved full status in the land of wealthy players. Mark will put you on a competitive platform, just as he forced me to compete against you and Diva. A small pregnant girl has to be woken up. Those babies will not affect Mark’s personality. He’s a natural womanizer.” Gwen talked again as Mark held the phone against his chest. Sandra began to cry and threw herself into the bed. She did this because she wanted Mark to quit acting like a child and give her his phone so she could call Gwen. Anne had already given up on talking to her daughter at this point. While Sandra sobbed on the bed, she continued her conversation with her small daughter, Lear. Mark was holding his phone as if he didn’t know what to do, while Gwen was listening. He couldn’t decide whether to talk to his ex-wife or give the phone to his fiancée so she could talk to his ex-wife, but he was expecting a continuous battle between the two ladies.

“Please allow Sandra to speak to me. Because she is still young in this game, I have some suggestions for her. As for you, I’d like us to meet in Ladino’s office tomorrow to finalize the change of family bank details that we use to take dividend payments of our shares.” Gwen spoke again, and Sandra stopped crying and shouted at Gwen to hear her because Mark’s phone was on loudspeaker.

“At the moment, you’re losing the bet, lady. I have a twelve-bedroom house that Mark purchased for his children and will give to him. You are nothing more than a barren, worthless troublemaker who is theatrical in every way. I’m accompanying Mark to this meeting. I I want you to look at my face and tell me whether you believe I can be played by the billionaire in the same way he fooled you.” Gwen heard her, and Mark realized that the fight he had expected had only just begun. He tossed the phone across Sandra’s bed so she could answer it. He then sat on the bed and listened to the women’s argument.

“Oh! Really? Did he tell you that I own half of that house? I’ll track it down and find it. Then you’ll see me come in and grab it by force soon. You’re just a misguided young girl. “Get up before trouble comes.” Sandra was speechless when Gwen threatened her. She hung up the phone and stared at Mark.

“Why are you staring at me like that?” She’s simply threatening you. According to the law and our agreement, the house is yours, not hers. You are the rightful owner to everything I own. Don’t let her scare you.” Mark supported his fiancée.

“I should notify my father about this situation so that he can ensure my safety.” This horrible ex-wife of yours cannot threaten me.” Sandra responded with tears in her eyes. She immediately took out her phone and dialed her father’s number. Mark’s phone was ringing as her father’s phone rang when he was at the office of his business. Gwen was phoning once more. Sandra decided to end her conversation to her father and reach for the billionaire’s phone, which was ringing. Mark, on the other hand, grabbed it first and responded.

“Please don’t make my life a shambles again. I’m going to meet you at my place so we can work things out without involving innocent people.” he muttered as he answered the phone while Sandra looked at him.

“I would be delighted to host you again. I’m in the rooftop jacuzzi that you adore. You’ll remember our times together when love was just getting started. Come on over, my friend.” Gwen’s alluring talk charmed the billionaire. The phone, however, was not on the speakers at the time. As a result, Sandra didn’t hear Gwen speak.

“I hope that doesn’t cause a delay in the divorce process. My fiancée is expecting a child, and I want to live for the family Sandra is providing for me. You have failed to provide me with what is most important to me. I’m on my way, by the way.” Gwen hung up when Mark responded.

“I’ll accompany you. When we arrive, I shall notify my father of my whereabouts. I really wish you could get this divorce over with. It puts me in hot water. Now I’ll be at odds with your wife.” Sandra called Mark after Gwen managed to hang up the phone.

“Since I’m going into my house, don’t you think she’d say I attacked her with you if there was an altercation? That is, it will have a negative impact on you. Just stay at home, my lady, and let me deal with my divorce. I love you, and all I own is yours to inherit.” He then kissed her before making a final statement that amused Sandra and convinced her to reconsider what she was thinking.

“You are free to go alone, but you should notify your security agency so that they can monitor the situation. I mean, Gwen has her own security agency, which used to be Melon security officer.” Sandra encouraged her fiancé, to which he replied, “I will do so right now.” He did, in fact, call Joel while standing by Sandra.

“I would require your assistance. Gwen and I are meeting with our broker to finalize the state of our finances. After that, I’ll sign the divorce papers so I may prepare for my marriage to keep Sandra in peace.” Over the phone, Mark informed Joel.

“All eyes are on you. From the moment you step out of your new Westgate home to the location of your bride. You’ll find me at the front door of the place where you live. Gwen, by the way, had also called. She wished to discontinue communication with the Melon security agency.” Joel responded before Mark hung up the phone.

He kissed Sandra, and she murmured, “Good luck in all that you do.”

Sandra rose up and held Mark’s hand after Mark smiled at her. She drew him into his car and waited for him to get inside.

“I will say a prayer for you. You require assistance and a robust backup. You should not be forsaking the life of an ordinary person because you are the richest. You should not be living the mundane life that Gwen has forced upon you. Sandra has made you a father figure to your children. As a result of this young lady, you will be a happy man.

“All is well.” Sandra spoke as if she was aware that Gwen had enticed him. As a result, she made certain that Mark remembered her even as Gwen drags him into her bedroom. Mark bowed his head as he sat in his Rolls Royce.

He kissed Sandra’s hand through the window and said, “Goodbye my love, I will be right back at any time soon. I’ll keep you updated on everything.” Sandra smiled as Mark went out of the home.
