44- Wildest angels in the beach, my mom and her

Under the radiant sun of the Greek island, Gerardo and Freud walked along the shore of Turtle Beach, the hot sand crunching under their feet while the waves sparkled like diamonds on the horizon. The sea breeze carried with it the salty aroma of the ocean, but there was also a palpable tension in the air. Gerardo, with his curly hair and determined gaze, couldn't shake the feeling that time was slipping away from them. Barbara had been there, and he was convinced it was not just a pleasure trip.

"Are you sure you saw her here?" Freud asked, adjusting his sunglasses and surveying the area with suspicion. "Things are more complicated than they seem."

Gerardo stopped, his heart racing. "Yes, I'm sure. I saw her on social media. She was in a photo with a group of people. She said she was coming to teach dance and work on a conservation project. But there's something more... I feel like something is off."

Freud frowned. "You can't let your emotions cloud your judgment, Gerardo. Barbara is not just a missing woman; she's part of a much bigger game. If she's really involved with those traffickers, we need to be cautious."

"I can't think that way! I know her, Freud. She's not a criminal. She... she's special." Frustration took over Gerardo, and his voice rose. "If there’s something dark behind all this, I have to find her before it's too late."

Freud sighed and looked toward the sea. "Okay, let’s ask the locals. Maybe someone has seen her. But remember, the truth can be more dangerous than you imagine."

The two men headed toward a small beach café, where a group of fishermen shared stories and laughter. Gerardo approached one of them, a burly man with sun-baked skin. "Excuse me, have you seen a woman named Barbara? She's... she's a dancer, has curly hair and dark eyes."

The fisherman paused for a moment, frowning as he thought. "I've heard about her. I saw her a few days ago, on the beach. But she wasn't alone. There was a group of people who looked... strange, like they were out of place."

Gerardo felt a shiver run down his spine. "Strange? How?"

"They had a very serious demeanor. And the last time I saw her, she was walking away with them. I've seen them before, always in the same area, talking in whispers." The fisherman leaned toward Gerardo, his voice turning into a murmur. "Don't get involved with them, friend. They're not people you want to have as enemies."

Freud approached, listening to every word. "Where exactly did you see her? We need a lead."

The fisherman pointed toward a path leading into the vegetation. "If you go that way, you might find something. But be careful. This place has its secrets."

Gerardo nodded, feeling a new surge of determination. "Thank you, we will."

As they walked away from the café, Freud looked at him with concern. "Are you ready for this? It could be dangerous."

"It's always been dangerous," Gerardo replied, his voice firm. "But I can't let anything happen to her. I can't lose her again."

With his heart racing and adrenaline coursing through his veins, Gerardo and Freud ventured down the path, determined to unravel the island's secrets and find Barbara before it was too late. Sunlight filtered through the trees, casting shadows that seemed to dance around them, as if the island itself were alive and aware of their quest. Deep down, Gerardo knew that the real danger lay not just in what they might find, but in what they could discover about themselves along the way.

Later that afternoon, as the sun began to dip towards the horizon, casting a warm golden hue over the beach, Gerardo and his mother, Lady Macbeyh, strolled along the shoreline. The beach was filled with laughter and the joyous cries of children playing in the sand. The sound of the waves crashing rhythmically against the shore provided a soothing backdrop to their conversation.

“Gerardo, you seem restless,” Lady Macbeyh observed, her brow furrowed with concern. “Is this about Barbara?”

He hesitated, glancing at the rolling waves. “I can’t shake the feeling that she’s in trouble, Mom. I just know it.”

Lady Macbeyh sighed, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “You can’t carry the weight of the world on your shoulders, darling. Let’s enjoy the moment, shall we? Look at how beautiful it is here.”

Just then, they spotted Barbara in the distance, laughing with a group of people. She was radiant, her curls bouncing as she danced playfully along the sand. Gerardo's heart skipped a beat. “Mom, look! It’s Barbara!”

Lady Macbeyh’s eyes lit up. “Let’s go say hello!”

As they approached, Barbara noticed them and waved enthusiastically, her smile infectious. “Gerardo! Lady Macbeyh! I didn’t expect to see you here!”

“Neither did we!” Gerardo replied, his spirits lifting. “We were just walking along the beach. What brings you here?”

“I’m here for a dance workshop and to help with a local conservation project,” Barbara explained, her eyes sparkling. “The island is mesmerizing!”

Lady Macbeyh chimed in, “That sounds wonderful! We were just about to head to the beach for a swim. Would you like to join us?”

Barbara beamed. “I would love that! I could use a break from rehearsals. Plus, I could show you some moves!”

Gerardo grinned, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. “That sounds perfect. Let’s make the most of this beautiful day!”

As they walked toward the water, the three of them laughed, and the tension that had gripped Gerardo began to dissipate. The sun dipped lower in the sky, and for a moment, everything felt right. The worries of the world melted away, replaced by the joy of being together, the sand between their toes, and the promise of adventure that lay ahead.
