Chapter 125

Chapter 125

At the manor entrance, Amelia, Makoto, Rowena, and Celine were anxiously watching the road.

When they saw Victor walking back completely unharmed — not even a speck of dust on him — the tension finally drained from their bodies.

"How did it go?" Amelia was the first to rush forward, her face full of worry.

"Handled." Victor's tone was flat, like he'd just stepped out for a casual walk.

Makoto froze.

"Handled? But there were four Immortals..."

"Three dead, one got away." Victor said it like it was nothing.

Four Immortal-level fighters — and three of them were dead.

The staggering result left everyone speechless for a long moment.

Makoto, who came from a Martial Arts Family, felt it more than anyone. She knew better than most what "Immortal" actually meant.

And yet Victor had dealt with them like it was nothing.

The one who survived had clearly been let go on purpose — to carry the message back.

Makoto drew a slow breath and forced the awe back down inside her.

The other three, though, were mostly just relieved. The fear had lifted, and now they could breathe again.

Amelia pressed a hand to her chest, murmuring "thank goodness" over and over.

Once everyone had settled down a little, Victor spoke again.

"I'm planning to head to Moon Goddess Mountain and wipe out Moon Goddess Temple."

The calm that had just returned shattered instantly.

"Victor, think carefully about this." Makoto's face clouded with concern.

"Moon Goddess Temple runs far deeper than those few people you dealt with today."

Victor just smiled, unbothered. "I know. But as far as I'm concerned, dealing with them isn't any different from dealing with those messengers."

Amelia opened her mouth, ready to say something.

But when her eyes met Victor's steady, unhurried gaze, the words died in her throat.

She knew. Once Victor made up his mind, nothing could change it.

All she could do was stand behind him, no matter what.

"Alright. Be careful out there. I'll be here waiting for you." Amelia said softly.

Victor ruffled her hair. "Don't worry. I'll grab some medicine on the way back. I've heard for a while that the stuff up there does wonders for the body — might as well bring some back for all of you to try."

Fourteen hours later. Italy. Moon Goddess Mountain.

Inside the main hall of Moon Goddess Temple, the atmosphere was suffocating.

Brad and the senior members sat in their seats, faces dark with fury.

Just moments ago, Moon had come scrambling back through the gates, barely holding himself together.

Trembling, he had reported everything that happened at the Savannah River.

"Moon, are you out of your mind?" Brad slammed the table and snapped. "He's just some lowlife from the Mortal World — how could he possibly be that strong?"

Moon dropped to his knees, his voice cracking.

"Every word is true, I swear."

"That Victor broke our Four Seasons Illusion Array in a single move."

"And then... he killed three of the Senior Disciples."

The Four Messengers were the finest of Moon Goddess Temple's younger generation — the future of the entire sect.

And now three of them had been cut down by an ordinary man from the outside world, while the one who survived had been left blinded.

In Moon Goddess Temple's fourteen hundred years of history, nothing like this had ever happened. It was an unthinkable disgrace.

The elders in the hall were shaking with rage, the killing intent thick enough to fill the room.

Moon trembled under the pressure but steeled himself and repeated Victor's words.

"He also said he'd come in person in three days. He told you to write your wills in advance."

"Outrageous!" Brad erupted.

The cup in his hand crumbled to powder, water and dust raining down together.

"The nerve of him — coming to Moon Goddess Mountain to take my head?"

"He has a death wish!"

At that moment, a white-haired elder rose to his feet, his expression grave.

"Brad, this is not something to take lightly."

"We don't know the full extent of Victor's abilities, but we all know what the Four Messengers were capable of."

"They set up their array, and he didn't even need a second move."

"That alone tells you how dangerous this man is."

Brad gritted his teeth and scoffed. "Moon Goddess Temple has stood for a thousand years. We have depths no one can fathom. Why would we fear him?"

The white-haired elder sighed and pressed on.

"Better safe than sorry. My suggestion — activate the Sect Guardian Array immediately and recall every disciple out on the road."

"And send someone to the back mountain. We need the Grand Elder to take charge."

At the mention of "Grand Elder," the room went cold with sharp intakes of breath.

The Grand Elder was a Quasi-Ascendant Lord.

The ultimate trump card of Moon Goddess Temple — he had not shown himself in over a hundred years.

And now they were considering waking him for a single man from the Mortal World?

Brad's expression shifted through several emotions at once. His words were hard, but inside he was anything but calm.

He said nothing to push back. His silence was as good as agreement.

As the hall buzzed with uneasy thoughts, a cool, clear voice drifted in from outside.

"All of you, shut up."

It wasn't loud. But it carried a weight that left no room for argument.

The noise cut off instantly. The hall went dead silent.

Everyone turned toward the sound.

A young woman walked in with unhurried steps — her face strikingly beautiful, her expression ice-cold.

It was Mira Collins, the Deputy Palace Master of Moon Goddess Temple, the one who actually held the reins of power.

Behind her trailed Alvin, the Palace Master in name only, looking meek and uncertain.

Brad frowned and stood. "Deputy Palace Master, Palace Master — why have you both come out?"

Mira shot him a sharp look. "You have the nerve to ask? Look at the mess you've made."

"I'll be direct. That Veiled Syndicate in the Mortal World — you've been backing them in secret, haven't you, Brad?"

"Do you have any idea what they've been doing out there under Moon Goddess Temple's name? The trouble they've stirred up?"

Brad's face stiffened. He scrambled for a defense. "Deputy Palace Master, everything I did was to gather cultivation resources for Moon Goddess Temple—"

Mira cut him off with a cold snort.

"Haven't we lost enough face already?"

"When the disasters hit, our rules kept us from going down the mountain. That was shameful enough."

"Then you went behind our backs and got into bed with the Japanese, helping outsiders go after our own people."

"Now you pull this filthy stunt and get three of the Four Messengers killed for it."

"Did you think that just because I was in closed-door cultivation, you could run Moon Goddess Temple however you pleased?"

Brad didn't dare say a word back.

Not because he had nothing to say — but because Mira was far above him in strength. One wrong word and he'd lose his head.

Still, with all the elders watching, he had to salvage something.

"Deputy Palace Master, the Veiled Syndicate has served us faithfully all these years. Whatever we needed — people, money — they delivered without question."

"A few years back, when we needed materials, their vice leader killed his own deputy and sent the body up the mountain without a second thought."
