Chapter 91 Alexandro's Revenge {6}
Schemes changed.
Unbeknownst to Jacqueline, she'd opened a door to which my plan would storm.
Antonio Lucas was certainly against me using young Vinny for my supposed scheme.
"He's just a boy!" Antonio had said.
But Vinny was ever ready to be included in my plans, and so he secretly became my underdog selling newspapers around the agent's building where Jacqueline worked.
And while he did that during the day, I drew information from Jacqueline late at night.
Soon, Vinny got into the building on some occasions - even without informing me how he had done that - taunting me that it was a prized information.
And when it was time, he created passage for my entrance. I'd dressed like a cleaner, wheeled a trolley through while my eyes searched for the cabinet which Bruno was imprisoned.
Bruno certainly hadn't learned well from me after all these years. He was caught so easily after he had taken what he supposed was rightfully his.
Charles whom he had expected to be one of his trusted allies, a Dante and untouchable was no where near.
Instead, he was used as a bait to catch Charles.
"Hey, you there!" A man in polished shirt called out to me.
I held my breath, clutched the handles tightly while I kept a straight face.
"You look different, Idris," the man intoned studying me.
He was Agent Drew, judging from Jacqueline's description: brown curls, with lazy lashes for a man with sturdy build.
I nodded, eyeing the cabinet which held Bruno. It was just a corner away.
There was a minimal tinted glass coverage which was only attached to the door.
I brushed past Agent Drew, grabbed the keys attached to his waistband and scooted away.
It was that easy, my lips stretched out widely.
The cabinet was an exclusive place, isolated from the other offices -
"Jacqueline, there you are!" Another agent called out to her. She was dark skinned with pretty long braids, curled into a bun. "Don't tell me, you brought in Vincenzo, your boy. You're so uptight about giving him a home and sending him to high school."
From the corner of my eyes, I caught Jacqueline's hand curling around Vinny's shoulder.
They knew each other?
How?
Then I recalled how Vinny had almost spilled the fact that he knew Jacqueline but he got quietened by Antonio Lucas.
"I was just discussing with Maddie how I could take him up for adoption," Jacqueline put in.
My throat burned.
Adoption?
Whose adoption?
Jacqueline had never mentioned anything of the sort to me even while we'd made sweet, suffocating love.
Vinny tried a weak smile, trying to find a way of escape whilst eying me from where I stood.
Jacqueline was trying to adopt my son, whatever for?
"Maurice just left the site, just kept hammering that you need to be in touch with him," the lady put in.
Drew strolled in, hand stretched out to ruffle Vinny's hair.
Move, I told my feet.
I took the corner, began to unlock the cabinet then let myself in with the trolley.
Bruno's left hand was handcuffed to the iron desk in front of him. His eyes widened when they recognized me.
"No way, you're alive?" Bruno's voice caught in his throat. "Hell, I shot you, right under my nose."
He threw his eyes back to the door.
"How the hell did they not see you walk in here!" Bruno's voice was hard.
He had a massive beard on his face, his hair also was overdue for a haircut. He wouldn't have been recognized with all of them hairs but his eyes was what gave him out.
"I am invincible," I gestured with outstretched arms, grinning with pleasure.
"You think you can just walk in here and kill me? You can do me nothing. They have eyes everywhere....," Bruno clenched his teeth as he spoke, his eyes skating over to the cameras.
My brows cocked upwards, "do you think I was alone? And do you think me dumb like you? That's the difference between me and you. You didn't absorb any training over the years. That was why you were caught so quickly," I finished.
Bruno scoffed, "I see, you have been fucking the Agent."
That sketched a smile on my face. "What are you talking about?" My head went low to meet his gaze.
"You think I'm a fool. She is in this with you, and I'll make sure you wish you had rather died."
I let out a dry laugh, "Unfortunately, I'm not the one being imprisoned or tortured like a rat."
With a swift move, I pulled out the syringe needle from my jacket, dug the the needle into his neck and watched as his eyes bulged.
He tried to punch me off but I pinned his other hand down until the last of the lethal injection went into his body.
"It's just a shame that you will go to waste, Bruno. I had loved you like my very own but you threw that all away," I withdrew the injection, satisfied of the outcome.
Bruno slapped a hand to the spot - shocked would be an understatement.
Perhaps, he was stupefied that his death was the most unbelievable thing.
"Don't worry, it isn't swift to constrict the breath in your lungs. It starts by freezing your blood, then goes to your lungs - and since there's minimal amount of airflow - you will spurt out blood." I analyzed.
"No, it can't be," he pulled at the chain attached to the table, slamming the desk to attract attention while staring up at the camera in the corner of the cabinet.
Unfortunately, the room was sound-proofed, and all the computers had been manipulated.
A beam popped on my watch which was curled around my wrist. One of Antonio's most trusted technician called Karl had made it for me.
It was only a matter of time before the glitch which had been placed over the cameras be discovered.
I struck a side-hand-stab to Bruno's throat, and his head fell on the desk.
Quickly, I started out towards the entrance with the trolley, did flip glances at both of my sides then stopped short.
Agent Drew who was coming towards my direction froze as well. His wide smile faltered when his eyes squinted, he had caught my hand just leaving the handle to the cabinet's door.
"Hold on a second, did you just come out from there? You're not Idris," his hand went straight to his waist band, his bundle of keys were gone.
I was with no gun, I would have gunned him down. I didn't want to cause mayhem that involved bloodshed - but now, I strongly wished I had a gun on me.
"We've got an imposter!!" Went his cry.
