Chapter 102
Chapter 102
Ivonne's POV
"You did what?" I let out a question and laughed humorlessly.
"Excuse me," Lora bowed, avoiding Tobias gaze and slipped between the both of us, hurrying down the stairs.
I nodded at her as she scurried past us and pushed open the door of the room. I kept mute till I hauled my bag over my shoulder and ambled to the bedside table to drop my bag.
The sound of the door shutting reached my ears and I inhaled a deep breath, whirling around to face him, my palm pressd to the table as I leaned my body on it. "When did that happen?"
"She called me at the office and asked which room to move her things into," he revealed, running his fingers through his hair that had hints of grey strands in them and gazed pointedly at me.
"Weren't you the person who asked her to bring her luggage into the mansion?" I raised a question, my head cocked to side as I awaited his response.
"Oh no I had no idea about that," he said and I narrowed my eyes at him, contemplating his words, however his eyes remained unwavering and pinned on me. "I really mean it Ivonne, I didn't know."
"Okay, if you say so, I believe you," I murmured, releasing a deep breath I had no notion I was holding and pushed my weight off the table.
"Yes baby," his lips tilted in a smirk as I covered the distance between us.
"So tell, me why didn't you inform her she could only stay at the pack house?" I interrogated as I reached him, placing my hands in his oustretched palm.
He tsked, and sucked in his bottom lip while I granted him an intense stare. "I don't know, it just didn't come to mind."
"Guess your mind was too occupied with your duties to think," I nodded, inhaling and exhaling deep breaths thankful that my feelings were slowly getting under my control, the jealousy and anger disappearing bit by bit, except for the uneasy tingling in my gut.
"Yeah," he dragged out, brows squeezing in a sign of wonder. "Why do I get the feeling you have something else to say?"
"That is because I do," I smiled sweetly at him and squeezed his palm in affection and a hint of trickery, which he noticed, provoking a smirk on his lips.
"Go ahead, so we can get it over with," he declared, exhaling a breath.
"Why did you give her my room?" I questioned after I was given the permission.
"It was the only clean room available as a result of her sudden appearance," he explained, and pulled me closer, my chest rubbing his as he peered down at me. "Besides it is no longer your room, or is it?"
"True but still I feel betrayed," I pouted and buried my face in his chest.
"Sorry my baby," he rubbed my back. "It's just Martha is more like family and though we had a fallout, I have to be considerate right?"
"I guess so," I muttered, thankful my face was in his chest so he couldn't see my facial expression.
"But I assure you I'd make sure she'd move out soon okay?" He ends the statement in a question, wanting to hear my response. "I asked the maids at the pack house to make a room ready."
"Okay," I murmured, smiling in his chest, feeling somewhat relieved.
"I noticed mother is not taking a liking to her," he blurted, his chest vibrating on the side of my chin, the hardness I felt, making me want to rip off his shirt and lick his skin.
"Of course she isn't," I added, permitting myself to kiss his chest as I turned my face to peer at him.
"Why would you say so?" I heard the frown in his voice as he asked and looked up, my guess correct as his lips turned downwards and his brows furrowed.
"Well which mother would be happy to experience this?" I quizzed, taking a step back to which he grumbled and pulled me back in, provoking me to let out a chuckle.
"I still don't follow," he conversed, gawking down at me, his gaze searching my face as if the answer was written boldly on the facial features.
"You wouldn't unless it is explained to you," I teased, wiggling my brows at him. "Though I expected a smart person like you to have figured it out already."
"Well let's just say, I'm not smart in that aspect," he informed, admitting his short comings. "It's a good thing for you to admit your faults," I murmured, voice holding admiration.
"I'm an Alpha so I shouldn't be too stuck up, don't you think?" He questioned, tilting his head to the side. "Also, don't skip the question, I really want to know the reason Mother is not liking Martha's presence here."
"Mother sees Martha as threat," I revealed in a breath, and observed emothons rush through his eyes before it settled on doubt as his lids narrowed in suspicion. "She does."
"Kindly elaborate further," he advised, hands on my waist.
"There's really nothing to elaborate on," I spoke. "It is just what it is."
"But I don't quite follow," he retrieved one hand from his body to rub my chin, gaze shifting between my eyes and lips.
I snorted and beat his palm away, rolling my eyes at him as he scowled after the shock passed from his expression. "You want me to spell it out for you?"
"Please do baby," he sighed in exasperation at my action as he peered at his hand for a moment, and I snorted. "Because I want to get this conversation over with and kiss you."
"Who says I'd allow that?" I questioned, biting my bottom lip voluntarily, knowing that would stir him up.
"Ivonne?" He called in a half groan and a half warning tone. His eyes as expected, stuck on my lips, his hand returning to my face to grip my jaw as the other one tightened around my waist.
I chuckled at that and to tease him further, I stretched on my toes to brush his lips with mine, a clear groan leaving his throat in that moment as a spark ignited in his irises.
Finally putting him or should I say the both of us out of our misery hence the conversation had dragged on more than necessary, I opened my mouth to spill out the statement.
"Mother see's her as a threat because she is your Ex wife and first official mate from the moon goddess," I explained it in a way he would understand. "Not only her, I too see Martha as a threat."
"Look here Ivonne," his gaze tore away from my lips to meet my eyes, however the sparks remained in his irises. "There is no reason for you or Mother to be worried."
"That is easy to say," I exhaled. "Mother, Martha and I are all women and atimes we see things you men don't, I'm sure Lora does too."
"Ivonne, Martha is a part of my past and she hurt me in a way I can't explain," he pressed his forehead to mine, the scent of wine, fanning my face.
"However she is here now in the present," I emphasized, my eyes locked on his. "Also as for the way she hurt you, we all clearly heard her reason.
"It is not lost to me that you must have forgiven her," I carried on, "if not she wouldn't be here in the mansion."
