Chapter 77 Your Engagement Party is This Weekend
The day slowly went by, and soon the morning came. Bryce woke up and got ready for the office. He skipped breakfast and was soon in the car heading for the office.
"What is the latest news on Angela's location?" Bryce asked.
"Sir, we still don't have anything on her. It appears she didn't have any friends, and she didn't go to her family home either," Marcus replied.
"You are not doing a good job then. Search everywhere," Bryce almost yelled.
"Yes, boss," Marcus replied and shifted his gaze to the road.
They soon arrived at Diamond Corporation. Bryce got out of the car and went up to his office. When he walked in, he was surprised to find his coffee sitting on his table.
"Angela!" Bryce whispered her name and went out of his office.
He stood behind Angela's office door and knocked. After the knock, he tried to open the door, and it was locked. He frowned and pulled his phone out.
"Maybe she went to meet up with Don," he thought as he dialled Don's number on his phone.
"Hello Don, how are you?" Bryce asked as he returned to his office.
"I'm fine, Mr President," Don replied.
Don Entertainment Industry has been acquired by Diamond Corporation. Bryce is now the president of Don Entertainment, so he is now Don's boss.
"How is the team's preparation for the next premiere going?" Bryce asked as he could not ask Don directly if Angela was with him.
"All good. I will be meeting Ms Britney later today so we can finalise everything," Don replied.
"Great, I would like a report sent to my email once you are done with the finalisation," Bryce said.
"Yes, Mr President," Don said. "Mr President, is Ms Angela coming back anytime soon?" he asked, and Bryce knew Angela was not at Don Entertainment.
"She is on long leave," Bryce replied.
"Okay, Mr President," Don acknowledged, and the call ended.
"So who put the coffee on my desk?" Bryce whispered, squeezing his phone as he walked back to his office.
He pushed the door open, and Susan was standing in front of his desk with her back facing the door. She was wearing a long grey coat with strapped six-inch heel sandals.
"What do you want in my office? I don't recall inviting you here, and last I checked, you are supposed to be on suspension," Bryce said as he made his way towards his desk.
He walked past Susan, who seemed to be rooted to her spot and was about to get behind his desk when he saw what he didn't expect.
"What is the meaning of this?" Bryce asked with a frown, not at all moved by Susan.
"Well, you are my husband-to-be, and I found out this morning that you skipped dinner last night and skipped breakfast this morning. So I came here to ensure you eat something, "Susan said and rested both of her hands on her waist.
She pushed the long coat back, exposing more of what she was wearing inside to Bryce.
"This place is not a strip club. So put on some clothes and get out of my office before I call security to drag you out," Bryce said with a frown.
"Well, if you do that, I am going to scream so loudly and accuse you of attacking me," Susan said and dropped the coat from her shoulder, making it fall to the floor.
She stood there in front of Bryce, wearing just a red bikini and her sandals.
"Go ahead and scream," Bryce said and picked up the phone receiver. "Security, come to my office now," he ordered after pressing the extension.
"Fine, I just thought I should do something romantic for my husband. I will leave since you don't like it," Susan said, pouting her lips, and she grabbed the coat from the floor.
She quickly put it back on and buttoned it up. She walked towards the door and was soon out of the office. Bryce shifted his gaze to the coffee sitting on the table, and he knew he could not trust that coffee. He sat down behind his desk, annoyed.
"Angela, where are you?" Bryce whispered on his lips and slammed his hand on the table.
He managed to bring himself to focus and got some work done. It was soon closing time, and he was getting ready to leave. He exited his office and was soon in the garage, stepping out of the elevator. He got into his car, and they were soon on their way home.
The car drove into the estate and soon entered his compound. He saw a car parked under one of his car sheds. He knew his father was around.
"Stop the car," Bryce ordered, and Marcus stopped the car right at the entrance of the garage.
Bryce got down and headed for the front door. He pushed the front door open and walked in. His gaze fixated on the direction of the living room.
"Welcome home, sir," Josephine greeted, and Bryce responded with a hmm.
"Is my father here?" Bryce asked, still staring in the direction of the living room.
"Yes, sir. He came here with a lady friend," Josephine replied. "They are both in the living room," she added.
Bryce frowned, knowing the lady who had come with his father was no other person than Susan. He walked into the living room.
"Ah!" Devon said upon seeing Bryce walk in. "You are finally home," he said, holding a glass of whisky in his hand.
Sitting directly opposite him was Susan. She had on a light blue straight dress which covered up to half her thigh. It had a shining surface with the burst bedazzled with small diamonds.
"Hello, honey," Susan greeted, and Bryce ignored her, focusing on his father.
"Yes," Bryce replied with a frown. "What brings you here?" he asked, still standing in his spot.
"I came here to discuss something very important. Have a seat," Devon said, and Bryce just obeyed.
He sat down on the seat next to Devon.
"You and Susan grew up together. I know her parents. Even though her mother died, her father is still alive, and he is a very good friend of mine. He is coming around this weekend, and that is why I thought it wise to fix your engagement party on that day. This way, he can be part of the engagement party," Devon said, and Bryce frowned deeply.
"So why is she here?" Bryce asked.
"She is spending the night here with you. She is your wife after all," Devon said, and Bryce's face darkened. "You already know the deal. Is either she stays, or you lose your inheritance?" he whispered to Bryce.
"Susan, dear, I will take my leave now. It's getting late. You two have a wonderful evening," Devon said and stood up. "Bryce, remember what we talked about," he repeated and stood to his feet, heading for the door.
