Chapter 66 Susan Meets up with Devon - Part 2
Susan stared at Mr Moore for a couple of seconds and opened her bag. She brought out a small brown envelope. She handed it to Mr Moore.
"What is this?" Mr Moore asked with a frown, accepting the envelope from her hand anyway.
"Mr Moore, just looked inside the envelope?" Susan said, and Mr Moore frowned.
"Susan, what is inside this envelope?" Mr Moore asked, holding the small brown envelope up to Susan's face with a frown
"It's the deed of your son. Bryce is messing around with his secretary, but that is not even the problem. The secretary is a slut. A gold digger who is only out to get Bryce. When I found out who she was, I tried to get her out of the company, but she turned everything against me, making me look like the bad one, and now I am suspended while she continues to work her way to Bryce's destruction," Susan said with a sad face, and Devon's face darkened.
He quickly opened the envelope and saw images of Angela entering Bryce's compound after 5 p.m., and in other images, she was seen coming out of Bryce's apartment early hours of the morning.
"She stays with Bryce?" Devon asked with a frown, staring at Susan's face.
"Yes," Susan replied, and Devon stared at her briefly before returning his gaze to the document in his hand.
Susan carried a sad expression on her face. Devon continued going through the images. He frowned when he saw an image of Angela entering another compound. She saw her changing her clothes, and soon she was chatting with another man seductively dressed. Devon saw the man carry Angela in his arms with a smile plastered on his face. Next, there was an image of Angela lying on the bed with the man, with the man towering over Angela, naked, except for the short pants he wore.
"What the hell? Is that Bryce's secretary?" Devon asked angrily.
"Yes, sadly," Susan said. "That is not all," she added and turned on her laptop, fetched the pen drive from her bag and put it into the laptop.
She opened the file and played the content, and Devon's eyes widened seeing Angela in bed with the man, half-naked. He immediately closed the laptop and angrily stood to his feet.
"Where did you get this?" Devon questioned, boiling with anger.
"I hired someone to follow her. The day I realised there was something off about her. I realised she was gradually getting rid of all those who would draw Bryce's attention to her dubious behaviour," Susan said, sounding very concerned.
"Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I appreciate you looking out for my family," Devon said.
"I care a lot about Bryce. We have known each other since we were children. If I don't look out for him, that would be very bad on my side. I want him to have the best in everything. I can't stand a gold digger coming to mess him up," Susan said, sounding very honest.
"Thank you, Susan. You are a very good woman. You and Bryce have been friends for a very long time. It would not be a bad idea if you two got married. That way, no gold digger would come his way," Devon said.
"Mr Moore, Bryce and I are friends. I don't think he looks at me that way," Susan said, even though inwardly she rejoiced.
"I know you like my son. I am his father, and he would do what I say. Just leave that to me. Once I address this issue, we will have an engagement party to make you and my son an official couple," Devon said.
"Thank you, Mr Moore. It would be an honour to be part of your family," Susan appreciated.
Devon escorted Susan to the door, and she left for her apartment. Susan had a smile of victory plastered on her face as she drove herself back to her apartment.
Back at the Moore family, Devon sent Angela's image and details to one of his men to run a thorough investigation on her.
"Mark, I want every detail you can find on her. Who she is and where she comes from, including which family she came from," Devon instructed.
"Yes, boss," replied Mark.
"Mark, discreetly," Devon said, and once he was done, he called Bryce.
"Bryce, have you called Susan and Eva back to the office?" Devon asked.
"No, they are not done serving their punishment," Bryce replied calmly.
"I want this suspension called off immediately," Devon said.
"Dad, why?" Bryce asked.
"Don't question my orders. Call Susan and Eva back to the office immediately," Devon.
"Dad, I will do no such thing. They must serve their punishment to serve as a deterrent for those who plan on doing such in the future," Bryce explained.
"It is an order, Bryce," Devon said and ended the call.
Back at Diamond Corporation, Bryce was sitting behind his desk, wondering what his father's call was all about. He put his phone to the side and continued to work. The second movie premiere has been rescheduled, and Don has already started working on another movie script.
As promised, at noon, Bryce packed his stuff and started heading back to his apartment.
At Zora's apartment, Angela also checked her time and decided it was time to go back to Bryce's apartment.
"Like said, I am sure, he is beginning to like you," Zora said as she walked Angela down the hallway.
"I don't know. His behaviour is a bit strange to me," Angela said.
"Well, at least, he provided you with your needs, and now he's treating you differently," Zora said to Angela. "You will be fine. He would come around. Just don't do things that get him angry," she added, and Angela nodded.
They were soon out of the flat, and Angela got into the back seat of the car, and Marcus drove out of the compound back to Bryce's apartment. Angela wished she would get back to the house before Bryce arrived, but unlucky for her she and Bryce arrived at the apartment at the same time.
"You went out?" Bryce asked as soon as Angela got out of the car.
"Yes, I went to visit my friend, Zora," Angela replied, not sure what Bryce would say to that.
"Are you feeling better now?" Bryce asked.
"Yes," Angela replied.
"Okay, let's go inside," Bryce said. "Have you eaten?" he asked while they walked towards the apartment.
"Not yet," Angela replied.
"Okay, we can have lunch, and I will continue with work," Bryce said, and Angela nodded.
They both entered the apartment and were soon in the dining area having their lunch. After lunch, Angela sat on the balcony for fresh air, and Bryce continued with work inside his office, not at all worried about the conversation with his father in the afternoon. He had no plan of calling Eva and Susan back until they had served their suspension.
