Chapter 41 Susan is the one Behind it
Bryce left Don's office and headed for the office. He left behind a ride with two guards to take Angela home once she was done on set.
Don also returned to the set and the shooting of the scenes continued but Aaron was resting in one of the rooms following his injury on set. Some offices came on the set but Don spoke with them and they left without speaking with any more.
In the restroom, Aaron was lying on a bed, shirtless, with a bandage wrapped around his belly covering his wounded area. He was holding his phone in his hand, typing away.
Aaron typed.
I demand you pay me extra. I was stabbed in my side on set today. Angela got framed for it, but I am lying here in pain.
Susan typed.
I understand. You would be compensated for your work done. How serious is your injury?
Aaron typed
The knife blade was not that long, so the wound was not that deep, but it still hurt.
Susan typed.
I would like my doctor to tend to you so you can recover quickly. I will send you the last payment to you once Angela's contract is terminated following this incident.
Aaron typed
That is fine, but I need compensation for my injury.
Susan typed.
Sure.
Aaron read the last message from Susan and deleted all the messages before placing the phone back on the table.
Bryce arrived at the office and was on his way to his office when his phone rang. He answered it quickly, exiting the elevator.
"Hello," he said as he walked towards the office.
"I was able to get the person behind it all," the man said.
"Who?" Bryce asked as he entered his office.
"Susan is the one behind it. She employed the service of Aaron Gregson to make trouble for Angela. She wants you to terminate Angela's contract," the man said.
"I see," Bryce said, sitting behind his desk. "Is there anyone else involved?" he asked.
"Her friend Eva has been helping her," the man said.
"Thank you. Good job done. Send all the gathered evidence to me," Bryce appreciated, and the call ended.
He went into his email and looked at all the evidence sent to him. Among the evidence were images of Susan and Aaron coming out of a restaurant, Eva and Susan handing cash to Aaron. Call recording and text messages. Bryce frowned going through them.
He picked up his phone and called the investigator back.
"Any progress on getting Don's daughter back?" he asked as soon as the car connected.
"Yes. My men are watching the place now. There are only two guards with her now. They can take them down. Be assured, Mr Don, we have his daughter today," the man replied.
"Good," Bryce said, and the call ended.
He turned on his laptop and focused on his work for the rest of the day. It was soon closing time. Bryce left the office, but he went to his family's home.
Angela, on the other hand, was sent to the estates after she was done on set. The car was parked in the garage, and Angela got out. She entered the house and ran into Josephine.
"Welcome, ma'am," Josephine welcomed, and Angela smiled.
She was exhausted from the shoot, and what happened on set was also bothering her. She went upstairs to her room and freshened up. She came downstairs for dinner, and that was when she realised Bryce was not at home.
"Josephine, Mr Moore didn't come home?" Angela asked.
"No ma'am. He sometimes goes to the family house after work," Josephine replied.
"Oh," Angela said, and Josephine thought Angela was disappointed.
"I am sure he will be back by nightfall," Josephine said, and Angela just nodded.
She finished her food and went back to her room. She went through the script and prepared the scenes for the next day's shoot.
Meanwhile, at a location which appeared to be abandoned, two men made their way towards a rarely lit house. One person went behind the house, and the other went to the front door. The one who went to the back managed to open the window and enter the house. The one at the front door threw a stone, and one of the men guarding a little girl walked to the door to find out who was there. As soon as he opened the door, he was punched in the face, and the one inside was also hit in the head with a stick.
They bound the men together back to back and carried the little girl away after calling the police.
Don was at home pacing up and down and occasionally checking his phone. He heard a knock on the door. He went to open it. His little girl was standing there on the porch, alone. He carried her inside quickly and closed the door. After ensuring his daughter was okay, he called the police and reported Aaron to them.
The next day, Angela arrived at Don Entertainment and went straight to the place prepared for the shoot. Aaron walked in and made himself comfortable. The production team were done with their setup, and Angela did her normal checks. This time she didn't do it alone. She did the checks with one of the men from the production team.
"Alright, we can start with the first scene for today," Angela said, and the characters got ready for the scene.
"Hold on," came Don's voice, making everyone turn in the direction of the entrance.
Don walked in with two police officers.
"That is Aaron Gregson," Don said, and Aaron was surprised.
The police immediately apprehended Aaron, and he stared at Don, wondering what was going on.
"Aaron, here was deliberated planted here to scheme against Angela Anderson. Yesterday's accident was no accident; he plotted it," Don said, and Aaron glared at him, clenching his teeth together as the office dragged him away.
"Angela, please find it in your heart to forgive me for the way I handled the whole situation," Don apologised to Angela, and she accepted.
"I guess we continue with the shoot," Angela said and then resumed the shoot.
At Diamond Corporation, Bryce summoned Susan and Eva to his office upon arrival.
"Susan, I warned you, but you wanted to test me," Bryce began, and Susan was surprised.
"What are you talking about?" Susan asked, feigning innocence, and Eva just stood there, shocked.
"Care to explain this?" Bryce said and projected all the evidence on the screen for Susan to see.
She went completely mute.
"I told you if you go after my secretary again, I would not take it kindly," Bryce said. "Susan, effective today, your contract with Diamond Corporation is terminated. The company would pay you for the period you have worked. Eva, the same goes for you," he said, and both ladies gasped.
"Bryce, you can't do this," Susan said.
"Susan, a crime was committed on set. If you don't want me involving the police, leave my office now," Bryce yelled, and Susan grabbed Eva's hand and stormed out of the office.
Inside Susan's office, she grabbed her bag, and Eva was surprised that she didn't clear her table.
"You are not clearing your table?" Eva asked.
"It is not over yet. Bryce can't terminate our contract like that. Just grab your bag and come with me. It is time we visit someone with the information you have," Susan said.
