Chapter 36 It's You I want - Part 2

Chapter 36 It's You I want - Part 2
"Do I make myself clear?" Bryce questioned.
"Yes, Mr President," Susan acknowledged.
"Now sit down and let's talk about the main reason why I called you out of your office," Bryce said, and Susan pulled the chair in front of his desk and sat on it.
Bryce picked a file from his desk and handed it to Susan. She accepted it and opened the first page. Bryce began to ask her questions about the file in her hand, which happens to be an employee's file.
The employee had been offered a contract, and Bryce was not aware of it. Susan went ahead to explain what happened, and Bryce decided to let that slide, too, giving Susan a final warning not to use their friendship for her gain.
"You can go now," Bryce dismissed, and Susan left.
Bryce picked up his phone and dialled Angela's extension.
"Angela, come to my office now. When coming, bring the movie script along with you," Bryce said.
"Yes, Mr President," Angela said before the call ended.
In less than five minutes, Bryce heard a knock on his door, and he invited the person in, knowing it was Angela.
"Lock the door. I don't want anyone disturbing us," Bryce said.
Angela was a bit surprised by this request, but she just obeyed and locked the door.
Bryce stood up from behind his desk and moved towards the couch, gesturing for Angela to join him. The two sat on chairs opposite each other.
"So what have you seen so far in the script?" Bryce asked, and Angela opened the script and stared at it for a while before she spoke.
"The storyline is good, but we will need to make a few changes to improve it. I looked at the scenes and realised these changes will be needed," Angela replied.
"Can you make those changes?" Bryce asked, staring at Angela, not for once taking his eyes off her.
Angela was getting a little uncomfortable with the way he was staring at her with his beautiful, deep blue eyes.
"I can, but I would have to inform Mr Don about it first. I understand he wrote the story based on an old novel," Angela pointed out.
"That is fine, but before you speak with him, print another copy and make those changes. It makes it easier for the person to see your point of view in words than saying it," Bryce suggested.
"Thank you, Mr President," Angela appreciated.
"Have you eaten?" Bryce asked, and Angela lifted her head to look at him.
"What?" Angela said.
"You heard me," Bryce said.
"Erm," Angela faltered with her words, not sure if she should tell him she didn't or not.
"Angela, I need you to take good care of yourself. You are losing weight by the minute. You kept your beauty, but I don't like you losing weight drastically like that," Bryce complained, scanning Angela from head to toe, making her stare at herself.
"I don't lose weight like that," Angela said and averted her gaze, and Bryce understood what she meant.
"Angela, you are my wife at home and in the office, my secretary. In either position, you enjoy great privileges. You will have fifty per cent of the power I have. I need you to be strong and not grumble at the sight of a challenge," Bryce said, and Angela shifted her gaze to him briefly before moving her gaze away from him again.
Bryce stood up and joined Angela in her seat.
"Look, you are strong, smart and intelligent. Don't let anyone bully you like that. Don't be rude, but never allow anyone to bully you," Bryce said, and Angela shifted her gaze towards him, sitting right beside her.
The gap between them began to close. Bryce was leaning in towards her. Angela remained frozen at her spot, lost in Bryce's deep blue eyes.
"Erh," Angela snapped out of her daze before Bryce could kiss her.
She remembered Susan and the warning Susan gave her concerning Bryce.
"No," Angela protested, lowering her head.
Bryce stretched his hand towards Angela and turned her gaze towards him. He stared at her face for a while, but Angela lowered her lashes.
"Why?" Bryce asked in a whisper.
"You and Susan are together, right?" Angela said with her lashes lowered.
"No, there is no Susan. Susan and I are just childhood friends, nothing more. It's you I want," Bryce said, and Angela lifted her lashes to stare at him.
Bryce pecked her lips and stared at her face. Angela parted her lips with her eyes closed. Bryce stared at her face and her lips. He captured her lips in a deep kiss. Angela allowed him to kiss her without any protest.
The phone on Bryce's table rang, interrupting the moment. Angela snapped out of the moment and quickly fixed her clothes. Bryce stood up and walked towards the table. He pressed the button, and Bernard's voice came through.
"Mr President, they have agreed to meet us today at 1 p.m.," Bernard said.
"Great," Bryce said, shifting his gaze back to Angela, who was now standing next to the couch with her head lowered.
"Work on the script. Let me have a look, and you can email Don also to go through. Whatever he says, let me know. Next Monday, we need to start something. Bernard and I are meeting a production team to collaborate with," Bryce said, and Angela lowered.
"You can go now," Bryce said and watched Angela walk towards the door.
She unlocked the door and exited the room. Bryce just stared at the closed door, wondering why he felt this desire for her. It wasn't like that before, but now it is.
He sat down behind his desk and distracted himself with work. Angela, on the other hand, worked on the script to share it with Bryce as instructed.
Back in Susan's office, she was not at all happy with the conversation she had with Bryce. She sat behind her desk, annoyed. Eva entered the office and frowned upon seeing Susan's face.
"What happened?" Eva asked and sat down behind her desk.
"I think something is going on between Bryce and Angela," Susan said.
"Really?" Eva asked, stunned.
"He has never spoken to me the way he did today, and it was all because of this silly Angela girl. I mean, who is she, and why is Bryce defending her?" Susan questioned.
"Aside from the fact that she is adopted, there is nothing more about her. I did find out that she moved out of her parents' home the very day she was offered a job in this company," Eva said.
"We already know that. Did you find who is accommodating her in that expensive estate?" Susan asked.
"That estate has some tight security. It is not easy to get information about people staying there. I need some more time," Eva said.
"Eva, I don't have time. I need something I can use against this girl. Bryce is slipping away from me," Susan almost yelled.
"Calm down, Susan. We have a plan. Let's stick to it while we dig out more information about her. If Mr Moore would not terminate her contract, his father would. We just need to dirty her records. I think it is time you visit Mr Moore's father and tell him about the new project. So that once we destroy it, Angela will have no option but to leave this company," Eva suggested.
"No, Bryce would throw in some good words for her, and his father will give her another chance. I suspect Bryce is the one accommodating her. I just need some evidence, and I will let Bryce's father know. He wouldn't want his son to keep a woman he is not married to under his roof," Susan said. "The Moore family are very traditional," she added.
"Okay, I will do my best to get you the evidence. While we wait, we can fake some pictures," Eva said
"No, Bryce's father would have someone authenticate them, and I will be screwed. I need real, authentic pictures," Susan replied.
"So what if they are not staying together?" Eva asked.
"We will send Angela to Bryce's house and take the pictures of her there," Susan said, and Eva smiled.
"Sounds like a good plan," Eva agreed, and Susan listened up.
